It touches on an amusing photo of the two, compared to Spider-Man’s meme, and ends with a mention of the ‘Calling Memphis’ event held over the past weekend, promising to share more news about it.
Arsenal Pass Ep199 - The State of Wizard in Classic Constructed Transcription
- 00:00 - 00:30 you're listening to Arsenal pass a flesh and blood podcast for players by players and all about strategy leveling up and the latest news in the world of wraith welcome to Arsenal [Music] pass hello everyone and welcome back to episode 199 of Arsenal pass this week
- 00:30 - 01:00 Hayden Dale is out getting married so huge congrats to him you know go ahead and leave a comment on this episode congratulating him on his you know lovely lovely wedding lovely marriage so we have decided to mess around a little bit while he's not around and we just had a set come out that had a ninja an assassin and a warrior but we're here to talk about wizard cuz that's what we do and we've brought on some wizard experts we've got margin Bay also known as Caleb I guess it's more Caleb also known as Marin B I don't know I call you margin
- 01:00 - 01:30 all the time and P Peter buens on for this episode two Kano Masters and two wizard Masters in their own right how are you guys doing doing good doing good thanks for having me it's been great it's been great I will also call Caleb Caleb and Majin Bay in the same episode multiple times also two of you share the same Jersey half the time all the names all over the place yeah sometimes I see Peter with the Majin Majin with the Caleb I don't even know and between the two of you I I was trying to collate the
- 01:30 - 02:00 results that you guys have before the episode The how many battle Harden I think between the two of you there's four total battle Harden wins several seconds in a few calling top eights correct something like that yeah yeah yeah I I have three battle Harden wins Caleb has one but he has two calling top eights I have zero but I have more like top 64 plus finishes so I I never finish tournaments I always cash but I like oh
- 02:00 - 02:30 I always I always scum out you know always the X1 into the bridesma you know all right all right uh basically a whole bunch of accolades between the two of you mostly on Wizard I believe uh but we will get more into that in the main topic for now though let's move into this week in flesh and blood so this past weekend I played in a 1K event so shout out to mindful games in Tacoma uh it's a local game store that is trying to start a competitive circuit like they do a 1K every month and it's going to
- 02:30 - 03:00 lead into a bigger tournament later in the year unfortunately I didn't do so well I went uh two and three total I brought new I'm trying to work on new uh and my first round was into a full fatigue rib tide so that was rough and then I went 22 into Vis rise afterwards which I think a 50% win rate into visai is like what I've come to expect uh for the new matchups I'm not too sad about that one but overall is a little rough for me imine how's your week in Flesh and Blood um I played both callings in Memphis uh
- 03:00 - 03:30 the first one I was on Kano which was like absolutely the correct deck to play over the weekend considering the like 70 plus conversion rate um all the other Kos did very well because I took all the bad luck for them uh it was like a horrendously misfortunate calling for me uh and then I played the sealed calling made my first ever limited day two I've actually never day two to solo limited event before so thank God uh and then I I out of cashing
- 03:30 - 04:00 it uh that makes sense I mean I've heard people say Koo players KH draft is that is that true well V was top eight so I don't know all right so I'm excited to hear about your terrible luck at the CC calling on your story time I'm sure they'll be coming out might be out uh By the time this Pawn drops but Peter how was your week in fles and blood so while Caleb was uh cosplaying as Bon Patrick at pt1 I was winning was like crazy line wasn't it I
- 04:00 - 04:30 was winning in the calling uh I win 61 day one with Kano uh and then finished you know 84 for a top 32 got finished like 29th um for Mid cash and then I played the commoner gold foil event never never played a commoner gold foil event before uh but my flight was like kind of early on Sunday because it was the only flight getting back to Vegas that was like reasonable um because I had to work on Monday and I actually top Ed with fatigue Enigma in commoner that
- 04:30 - 05:00 I got from Matt Muse uh and Adam and uh fortunately through my quarter Auto games quite horrifically because uh I was swinging with a spectral shield with reality refractor for like the entire day which cost one because it's a spectral Shield because Enigma makes it less but I had a waxing Spectre on the board and try to pitch my sink below to attack with it and I lost on the splot um which was embarrassing so but it was very fun the commoner go events
- 05:00 - 05:30 there's everybody there was having a good time which was like the best part of it like I love playing battle hardens but that honestly commoner gold foil events were really fun to play I will play commoner gold foil events over a battle Harden every single time if possible I thought Icelander was the pick in commoner or am I out out of the loop I think it is I think Icelander is still like the best deck fatig Enigma is won the last two in the US it won in I did beat the match I'm just saying okay
- 05:30 - 06:00 okay but did you win that calmer goldf event no I died to boost stash uh actually I heard like I heard commoner Kano won Prague by the way for the gold foil event so I think the I think the Forman is like super unexplored it's super unexplored and it's like super sick and I actually can't wait but like I was playing that Enigma deck the entire weekend and I was like this deck is crazy it's it's crazy Matt's been killing on it Matt m m yeah M the the other Peter Bens that one yeah
- 06:00 - 06:30 well now Peter B is Matt of the South because he loses every time they play I See I lost in Swiss we were both 40 there's five rounds and I lost the the Peter Peter battle and now I'm Matt because I lost m m is that where that photo is from there's a photo of the two of you in so funny Spider-Man M it's so good so speaking of calling Memphis we've got some news uh calling Memphis happened this past weekend it gave us three full
- 06:30 - 07:00 days of CC coverage the two of you were playing in it so you all obviously didn't get to tune in but the coverage was amazing shout out to the casters uh Ellie bird Sam bur and Nathan Crawford uh came on for the balh Harden portion of it on Sunday really enjoyed the cast really enjoyed the coverage we saw a few breakout decks the full Redline syndra list came out um obviously it won the CC calling as well and prism seems to be back on the menu you managed to take down the batt hardened so congratul ations to our winners bro Spurlock for
- 07:00 - 07:30 taking on the CC calling Michael Hamilton for taking down the limited calling no surprises there and Kevin Murphy for taking on for taking down the CC battle hardened to be really excited for that despite despite a prism winning the battle Harden it's lovely to see yeah being so supportive um so regarding the calling there has been some controversy going on lately regarding one of the players actions in a non-reamed game now now I personally haven't spoken or heard
- 07:30 - 08:00 from anyone directly involved like I haven't spoken to the players themselves other player or the opponent nor any of the judges so I don't feel like of the information to comment on this uh but I will just say that I trust the rules and policy team to handle the situation fairly and do whatever is necessary to prevent this from happening again I I do think that they will deal with this in an appropriate manner uh anything from you guys about calling Memphis it was fun
- 08:00 - 08:30 and probably the fourth card game event I've been to that was connected to a cheerleading competition which is just weird that it's happened that many times like if you walked out of the conference Hall I walked out of the conference Hall to like take a break and like clear my head and I almost got cartwheeled into by eight-year-olds like so many times I just wanted a little piece of solitude and then I had to try not to Champ trample children running and jumping around and like I don't know that's just happened that has happened multiple times which is it's like that
- 08:30 - 09:00 one meme where it's like that's not a lot but it's kind of weird that it happened that many times yeah just fourth time yeah I I no that was a Cher eating thing happening fourth time yeah it was it was weird because like the when we were there on Friday playing day one they weren't there and then on Saturday they were and I'm like in the middle of the round I like call the judge to use the restroom like in the middle of the round and I walk out and I was like why is there like 8-year-old cheerleaders here like what happened like it I don't know it it keeps happening I just don't know why
- 09:00 - 09:30 somehow card game events get paired with like the most random other events possible on that weekend were you also upset that your Kano hit a Kindle or was that just a margin let's just Caleb oh okay cool all right so with that we're going to move on to the command and cookout uh if you want to get your questions in for the Pod leave a comment or email email us at Arsenal pass Fab gmail.com you can also message us on Discord or come up to us at an event and hand us your question in person however
- 09:30 - 10:00 this week's command and cookout gentlemen comes from me I've got two of you wizard aicad on so I figured I'm going to take this opportunity to ask you guys a question which I think all of us have strong opinions on and it is which wizard mirror is your favorite and why and by wizard mirror I mean it could be either the same hero or any wizard versus any other wizard so I would count like iander versus Kano as like a wizard mirror so which one is your favorite and
- 10:00 - 10:30 why Majin what a new start uh I got to go with the Icelander mirror specifically the Icelander mirror before uh The Amulet of Ice band I thought that was really interesting and the end game seemed to come down a little bit more to like a combo esque like flurry like Kano style flurry at the end of the games and then after Amulet of ice it was like a little bit less so um but I would say it's like Icelander Mir Icelander Cano was super interesting until like the icelanders figured out out the match up then it wasn't
- 10:30 - 11:00 interesting and then there was like the canos with the bulls and then it wasn't interesting for the opposite reason and then so I would go like Icelander Mir and then kir pre-tone ban Icelander mirr post amulet ban kanir post tone ban is like down here probably and then where Iceland versus Kano in that oh I guess oh that's way below cuz you said you didn't like it either side yeah I don't think it was like it was still a wizard mirror and I really like it but I feel like once you kind of
- 11:00 - 11:30 figured it out it was like just going through the motions for the most part it's interesting that you say before the Amulet of ice B you prefer the Icelander mirror I pre I like it yeah I prefer to post Amulet of Ice band cuz I I found that Amulet of ice kind of introduced a little more variants in the is versus is miror where one person can just there's just more board State pieces to find and one person might just like snowball on board State because of it uh and that sort of reduced the skill expression in my opinion where post am of icean it was
- 11:30 - 12:00 just like incid chills and Frost xes and I think that Frost X sorry I don't cast frostex come on man oh come on that happens sometimes in Iceland amera like and and that's the thing right I feel like it was um those pieces uh take a lot more for you to go ahead and resolve compared to amlet of ice that you sort of really you forced to make those decisions whether you want to like sacrifice sample to go for this comboes thing or whether you even had the space to um and it led to a whole bunch of decision- making so for me my answer is
- 12:00 - 12:30 Icelander versus Icelander but post Amulet of ice ban yeah both great yeah still great like I still kept them both you know they're both up here still and I love the Kano Mir right all right Koo post home ban is all right Peter give give us your Spiel i s I'm not going to stand for this blasphemy of this Icelander Icelander just H disgusting disgusting the the best part of that is when we tested for world's it was like world's Barcelona and I didn't know what
- 12:30 - 13:00 I was going to play and then Caleb convinced me to play Icelander but I've never played the Icelander mirror because I was always a Koo guy back in like the Lexi meta and then right when Lexi got banned that's like the the world's meta but I never played the ice henter before and you guys sat me down for three days in the Airbnb and beat the ier mirr into me I think we played like maybe 20 hours in 3 days of just like pure Icelander mirrors like knowing
- 13:00 - 13:30 the decision points every single like aspect of it and I went from like I think the first day I went like one and 16 uh in Icelander mirrors just like conceding when it was like unwinable basically uh and then I was winning later into the weekend uh and then I played it round one and just smashed my opponent in the Ice Center mirror because I was like man I've been playing this every single day for like 4 days straight like I I knew that match up inside and out at that point but i s it's not that good bro like it was it's
- 13:30 - 14:00 it's kind of it's kind of coin flippy the true mirror of the Wizards is the kir pre-tone ban and I you got to have a couple different things so I liked it a little bit before because this was before a lot of people played potion of dja Vu so there was like less of the board State stuff but yellow toome was like the mere breaker back then because one person always made sure they were like the aggressive play and one person was like the more defensive player in the matchup um and if you were ahead
- 14:00 - 14:30 like behind the way you could come back is resolving yellow tone from Arsenal because you would gain life off tunic well not off tunic but off like blue pitch and then your opponent would never respond to it because if they respond to it and then don't kill you they just die and you get yeah the game's just over so they have to let yellow like to resolve and then you get to winning Moon and then like Cano activation and it's like kind of free for the entire time but you would heal the chip damage that you were behind with because the opponent's
- 14:30 - 15:00 casting like SW Tidings and one for fours into you and then like shipping you out and just playing aggressive and then you could play like such a long game and then like get all three eotss out and like a Deja Vu and then like really get there and then like pitch check the second cycle and then I was really really good at like baiting my opponent to comboing off when I knew I was never going to uh uh going to die and then combo them back yeah so coming back to the Barcelona testing house I think that was like one of my most
- 15:00 - 15:30 favorite testing like pre-tournament testing experiences ever um aside from iand Mir we played a whole bunch of Icelander Droite too and I think that was that was a super fun matchup as well I was losing my mind for the first three days because like that was when toome came out and I I don't understand what I never lost this match up before now I can't win it oh my God what do I do was just dooming it was yeah it took it took a lot to get back on the train
- 15:30 - 16:00 you were dooming early and then like and and then page landed and it was like guys guys guys guys yeah Red Ice bolts and we were like and then immediately we went from complete dooming to winning the matchup and we were like pun pun is the goat pun is the goat oh we all miss Icelander but with that we're going to move on to wizards that are currently legal in classic constructed uh we're going to move on to the state of the Wizards post hunted release and we're
- 16:00 - 16:30 going to start with Kano so both of you brought Kano to calling Memphis the CC calling and Memphis and so where I want to start with is has the build of Kano changed at all with the hunted release obviously not because he got any new cards like there were no wizard cards I mean there's ring of roses but we'll get to verdence later uh there's no cards for Kano in the Set uh but because the meta has shifted has the Kano deck list changed at all Peter we'll start with you yeah so I it's not really specifically
- 16:30 - 17:00 the hunted that changed the the list it was more of like the toome Bannings that happened and then getting floodgates and a lot of the new Blues from the last set um what it caused was you usually play a little bit more Blues than you used to I was like pretty big like 33 blue kind of believer and even I got convinced of playing one or two more Blues into this I event I ran 34 but I've seen a lot of people play 35 even 36 blues at this point and just playing way more the
- 17:00 - 17:30 reason why you do that is because you have to play into the nine floodgates a lot more than you used to and if you hit with floodgates and you draw two cards if you draw double blue you net one resource because if you hit like another Floodgate right um but if you draw blue yellow then you just go completely even on resources and if you draw a blue red then you're minus one resources technically with like the Koo activation and casting floodgates so it's really important to hit more Blues off the Double Draw than you used to so playing
- 17:30 - 18:00 the higher quantity of Blues is also more important also hitting Blues off rack of muffins is always super important and playing more Blues always gets you you're drawing like four plus cards on your combo turns now yeah right but how much blind kooing are you doing because if you're blind kooing a bunch and you have more blues that also like there's a bit of that inverse relationship between the two right you want to draw Blues but you want to not Koo into your Blues well it depends on who you're asking if you're asking Peter
- 18:00 - 18:30 or you're asking me you're going to get different answers oh I I've come I've come around on this version I've come around on this version to not hitting the kandle button that often but um I think I saw a lot of people aggressively hitting the kandle button a lot more that were playing uh maybe like a couple less Blues than we were um but I think you're not supposed to be blind and flipping too often unless it's like you need to see what the card is like you're going on your combo turn you want to see the card if you need to C node the
- 18:30 - 19:00 Wildfire or not right um but besides that like I don't think blind flipping off the top is like really super super reasonable right now even with the floodgates yeah it's um with three potion of deja vus the Gaye the ages and like things like that um most of your turns are pretty deterministic and you usually have to take like a blind during a combo turn because your combo strings are like four cards for the most part now um so you usually have to take like blind it's either going to be like a blind draw or a blind
- 19:00 - 19:30 Kano and so when you can't take the blind can when you can't take the blind draw you like need it to be a blue and you take the blind Kano or whatever A lot of times you can put yourself in a spot where like it doesn't matter what you hit as long as it's not a literal brick you're going to be okay um so yeah you you're not just like you're not blinding as much uh the decks like aren't quite as fast outside of like syndra and things like that so you you usually have a decent amount of time okay uh by the way Majin has your build
- 19:30 - 20:00 of Koo changed at all with the hunter release yeah yeah so I've been playing I was playing the like oaba 9 open the floodgates version um and then last meta like Rosetta meta uh we played sonic boom and things because everyone played everyone had like at least ab3 and prevention it was so awful uh to play in that meta and so just like you couldn't just hit Wildfire for two and then get like lessons lessons blazing it just wasn't enough you need to have longer
- 20:00 - 20:30 chains because they were going to prevent so much of your Wildfire damage so you played Sonic Boom it's the horrendous Tempo card because like your whole deck misses and it's just poop uh but like it's really good when you have Deja Vu and you need to get extra damage in before you're blazing because they're going to block so much of it but now AV and spell void is so far down uh we were actually seeing that at the end of Rosetta where kanos were like quietly doing really well in tournaments even though there was only like one or two in an even tournament they were going like X1 and then missing top eight or whatever um and people were just people
- 20:30 - 21:00 were just not prepared so I was pretty locked on Kano like even before hunted came out but the changes I made was that uh I took out Sonic Boom put in Aether flares and then took out the potion of clarities because your combo turn doesn't have to be quite so like Giga combo right you don't have to Nuke them now you can just have like a good combo and kill people because they don't have a like everyone's not rocking ab3 spell Boy 2 anymore right so speaking of that yeah it does seem like the The Meta has shifted to being a little more aggro red
- 21:00 - 21:30 line SL also there's a little bit of uh Koo disrespect potentially there was a lot of disrespecting going yeah there's a lot yeah so actually yeah so before we move on more to like the mattera surrounding why you might want to bring Kano why did you two bring Kano to Memphis this past weekend like what did you guys see that made you think okay wait this this event I could bring Kano to Majin real start with you yeah uh basically the disrespect in the Rosetta MAA like I I play a lot of Koo games
- 21:30 - 22:00 right um and so I kind of know when like the matchups are good when the matchups aren't how much AB people need to be playing in order to like keep you down um and people were just way below that threshold um by the end of Rosetta but I didn't want to play Kano anymore because I was just so tired of like the Swingin of the deck like Aurora was still popular uh Enigma was everywhere and the current builds of enigma were really rough because they had like pummels all the like wantings and wax things um eras
- 22:00 - 22:30 face red Spears just like stuff that was making things really difficult and I knew that people were going to be putting in a bunch of cards for the new stuff and a lot of decks that were going to be new or more popular just can't afford to run a lot of Blues and don't get easy access to spellboy and so I was like just like yep kano's kano's going to be the pick time to bring the boy and I kind of just let all the Kano players like that were going now I was like yep it's Kano time guys it's also the first weekend like this was the first weekend of the set dropping so everyone's still
- 22:30 - 23:00 running all these untuned sort of unrefined lists yeah they're slower clunkier yeah and the first thing that goes like when they're like oh for this matchup I don't know let's say like for the Assassin match up I want these more D reacts the first thing they cut would be the ab and the spell void right absolutely and we haven't seen a Kano in like four months bro obviously we cut this yeah um if uh anyone tuned in to the coverage this past weekend Ellie bird had this particular line which stuck with me and made me laugh so hard she said it's a cultural sine wave of
- 23:00 - 23:30 Koo respect and like right now it's at the low point and I was like that is actually brilliant so okay it's an aggro Redline meta right now we seeing lots of synas I think syndra is obviously getting a bump in popularity for winning the event you also mentioned Aurora is around vistra is also around how do you guys feel into these match up let's start with syndra like do you think you can outpace the the average syndra like oh or is syndra like way too fast um yeah Peta why did you start yeah CRA is
- 23:30 - 24:00 pretty interesting um as we saw like later into the calling like birdie actually was playing like ab1 and spell vo one which was like he was already teched for it like way more than like the other C list I saw that were just like abz just like don't even respect it at all um which they can't pitch against like V or anything like that so it doesn't make sense for them to have A1 in the first place but I think versus the traditional like just AB Zer synal list you you it's pretty it's pretty free so like a lot of the time it kind
- 24:00 - 24:30 of feels like the old F matchup used to be to where if you see wildfire in the first three turns and you're allowed to combo you just win the matchup but if you they will kill you on the third or fourth turn like pretty reibly so if you are taking longer than three four turns then you will die if you take less than three four turns and get to combo reliably you will you'll pretty much always win it it seems to happen about 65% of the time you're going to win the
- 24:30 - 25:00 flip wow that much so is that what you say the the matchup percentages into AB zero cidra into AB Zer I'd say probably like current current cedra probably like 65 70% yeah uh but then like ab1 spell void people are going to be like oh that's really not that much but like it throws off your math so bad yeah minus minus 2 on like a wildfire is like technically just like so much more damage getting prevented it's like a birge of like eight 8 to 12
- 25:00 - 25:30 right um but honestly the thing about the ab1 Spade one is that you have all these floodgates in your deck but versus ab0 you can just floodgates on your main phase and then draw two cards right because they can't prevent it and then you can get even further into your deck by activating Koo again chipping them out more and then your Ware actually doesn't need to do that many damage like say you draw a red off of your rag muffin's hat then you don't you can't like pump it with like metacarpus not or something like that and you do less damage but if they have the ab1 spell by one
- 25:30 - 26:00 you do have to have your wfire hit for six well it'll hit for four right cuz ab1 spell wade one it but it needs to at least hit for four for you to do enough damage and you can't just floodgates get the free chip damage draw two cards get even further into your deck so you see less cards you do less chip damage if you're presenting these floodgates on your own turn if they give you a little bit so uh it changes a lot uh just like that you wouldn't expect it to yeah if your opponent's playing like abzo like you mentioned with the floodgates like
- 26:00 - 26:30 there's several games not during the calling but like in prep and stuff where I'm playing Kano and I like Kano on my turn uh and it's open the floodgates and I have a different color open the floodgates in my hand like I'll go like okay open the floodgates metacarpus notes draw two cards open the floodgates metacarpus nodes draw two cards like I'll just I'll just burn my nodes just cuz like I'm chipping damage and anytime I hit a floodgates like I just get to draw two more cards you know I could save my Crucible for a spindle or like whatever um later it's just you just have so much freedom to like
- 26:30 - 27:00 abuse all the mechanics that Kano has yeah I somehow never considered about open the floodgates being played on your main phase like on your own turn but yeah now that you bring that up it's like against AB Zer you just you can just freeroll that basically mhm and yeah okay yeah that's uh that's an that's a great point so I want to so between the aggro deex between syndra Aurora and visai which one of these three would you like to face like the most and which one do you like to face the least not Aurora I just don't want
- 27:00 - 27:30 to play against Aurora I think this is like oh sorry go ahead because spell VO 2 is it ab3 spell void 2 uh on hits that are four and always go again is like such a disaster for Kano because you have to commit to whether or not you're blocking like immediately if they're just like okay snatch Goan and then they stare at you you have to like decide immediately if you're blocking or not and then if you blocking they just get to play all their cards and not worry about you
- 27:30 - 28:00 doing anything but if you don't block they're threatening like so much power on their turn makes the match up really difficult I was uh quite lucky this weekend uh I started the tournament uh playing Aurora and finished the tournament playing against an aurora and both of them didn't have spell void in their deck and uh basically the matchup with spell void 2 or spell void 3 versus Aurora is like very losing like 40% maybe like around there I don't even I don't even know that high yeah yeah like
- 28:00 - 28:30 30 40% like it's pretty bad right like 40% on like a good day uh with them not having spell void it's like it's above like 50% at that point um just because like it comes down to like yeah they do a whole bunch of damage but if uh the guy that I played the last round only had ab2 he only played the chest piece didn't have the boots so like I just comboed on on turn two and he just died like so I think it's like pretty interesting on that point of like how much respect you get it but most VIs list I see are always playing ab3 like
- 28:30 - 29:00 kind of no matter if they're playing the agris version or the like more slow version that's what the DX uh but the even the slow version is playing shelter which like sometimes can be a silver bullet against you uh if they draw it on the correct turn do they bring shelter into Kano is that something you guys the entire entire weekend everybody did yeah there like people don't have enough cars to take out and they're like oh I guess like right it stops like it's pretty good plus damage on your Wildfire turn
- 29:00 - 29:30 but it's horrendous if it's not on the Wildfire turn but it's amazing if it's on the Wildfire turn now see if you if you yeah you open the floodgates on Wildfire it stops eight on a three what is that yeah eight on a three spell turn which is good but yeah if you just draw like Peter said it's terrible it's horrendous yeah cool okay so looking forward to this weekend all three of us are going to be at Battle hardened Portland what are your thoughts on kano's position coming into this weekend because I think at this point you know from calling Memphis I think people you
- 29:30 - 30:00 know the cultural sine wave of K respect I think it's going up a little bit right especially since the winning list also had ab1 spell void one in it so what are else thoughts on kano's position Peter let's start with you uh I think it goes down pretty drastically um I think like knowing the deck is good is like Keno's worst weakness ever like Keno at least like the version of Keno now that doesn't have any TOS or anything like that that doesn't have like late game inevit ability that like it used to um
- 30:00 - 30:30 it it's more dependent on your opponent not respecting in like deck building than it has in the future like you can still win right like if your opponent's playing ab3 doesn't have spell void like you can still win the game a lot of the time but if your opponent is putting like four or five dedicated cards for Koo it gets a lot more rough um but I expect you know all the spell void to be back in the roar decks I I expect you know the Assassins to have ab3 spell void 3 with that busted equipment not or SPID why is it so good uh why
- 30:30 - 31:00 does why does assassin get everything I'm blaming you punk specifically um and then uh uh but like and then all these decks are going to play aasis if it used to play wasis or not right so like now instead of being the the format's a little bit more flushed out people can be like okay well I don't really need these cards for this matchup maybe I can actually bring these the all my ab back maybe a little bit more spell void for Koo and I should respected going into this weekend so I think Kano stocks kind
- 31:00 - 31:30 of just go down a decent amounts not that the deck gets worse but like everything around it is going to get better into it yeah I I'm not bringing Kano I suppose one thing that we haven't spoken about either is that the with this aggro Redline meta coming in I mean prism's back on the picture I mean prism won the battle Harden and that's obviously terrible Vol kanano as well right yeah I mean I I was sitting there and we were talking about prism and I
- 31:30 - 32:00 was like does prism have any bad matchups and people were thinking and they're like Victor right we just like couldn't come up with any we're like visai I guess there's literally none others she's plus 50 into every other actual deck in the format okay actual deck I see so so Victor's not actual I mean I think Victor could come back in with with syndra's popularity cnra could Victor could be legit yeah yeah I could
- 32:00 - 32:30 see people breaking him I'd like that I like to play against Guardian I play wizard so oh yeah and I play new so I I'm totally down for Victor to come back in y uh I don't play Deck to lose to [Laughter] Guardian okay so one question that's been like running around my head with kano's like rise in popularity is I feel like there's another wizard that in theory should have a similar matchup spread to Kano in the sense that thrives on people not really respecting Kano
- 32:30 - 33:00 very much and that's AO right like in an in an aggro heavy matter like Kano is good because everyone's like really red line they can't really prevent your stuff they can't block you very well um is ailio in a sense in a similar spot when an aggro heavy meta where he just gets to do his thing where people are just trying to play numbers and not really playing a lot of disruption like the way syndra is should ailio be decent for the same reasons that Kano is decent in theory uh aelio is just not as
- 33:00 - 33:30 fast like what aelio does isn't as powerful as what Kano does so I feel like decks like syndra just kill you and then I feel like decks like new especially if they have the respect just grind you down I'm I'm like a well-known ailio hater not like the deck not like the play style of the deck I think the play style of the deck is really really fun I just like can't bring myself to bring him to a tournament uh it's a little too feas or famine and then people people are going to bring up like oh yeah well what about when VOR you know took like
- 33:30 - 34:00 top 16 in Worlds but he went like four and four or something in CC right like he did not do particularly well with the cilio um I just don't think the deck's that good it's like almost there and other people who play the deck more would definitely have like more to say on that um I just don't see it showing up to an event like Memphis and doing particularly well my local actually brought ailio to memph and was doing good early uh but
- 34:00 - 34:30 it's like the classic thing to where if ailly gets to do his thing like the G in Flash like in like big spell turn you're going to win that game right but the problem is is you do that like one every three games and like consistently right like it's about consistent of one every three games you get to do like the really busted turn and most of the time you're doing like kind of like a kind of like a half good turn of like doing that and hoping it's good enough um but it's probably just not good enough um I I
- 34:30 - 35:00 haven't liked the deck after going 07 versus you guys at the first week of Rosa meta I've kind of dropped it since then and but uh no I was a Believer at the start I was like surely this herob ability has to be good like to even out the ratios and even with the herob ability being so good it's still not good enough that's reminding me actually didn't you come up with like a cyb ailio that just wanted to stack there is I played like four
- 35:00 - 35:30 versions of ailio like versus you guys and I didn't win a singular game in three days uh at the very beginning of Rosetta and I called it there I called it I was like it's it's over it's it's it's over yeah he's like oh go ahead cut you off uh he's I mean he's not like doing super well in tournaments and everything like I lose to ailo's locally I want to say that like he's he's two good cards off of being
- 35:30 - 36:00 incredible yeah TS yeah they B that's why they saw the power ailio was going to bring to the format to ailio was actually like so unbelievably like bu I've played against it in LL and it's like such a sweet deck like it it it actually feels fair for an LL deck because it's like what the CC deck was like designed to do and it's like just not consistent enough to be like the best tech in that format but when it does the thing like I got turned one by
- 36:00 - 36:30 aelio at the at that LL calling and he did like 200 damage to me and I like turn turn zero just played like double uh Double Draw card thing and then I died on the next turn because he just drew six toes and I was just like oh you just get to draw seven like 20 cards on one turn and so like you never whiff on in this format versus in the other format you get to whiff and I was like well I'm dead and I just shook his head and went like I'm going to go play side events now I guess how were they giving
- 36:30 - 37:00 the toms go again are they running Channel thunderstep you don't need to give them go again because the boots get play all the instance you draw two cards you draw One instant you get the action point back and then you draw another two cards blink has two action points yeah and you're just pumping a stu the entire time yeah yeah blink with TOS in ailia was so absurd so absurd so good so good so in CC then it's it's seems like it's not so much that oh people have disruption for ailio it's just that even
- 37:00 - 37:30 when he's not disrupted he's just not able to do his thing it's kind of what it sounds like and his thing is really powerful when he does get to do the thing you're going to explode but like incredibly fast decks and Decks that can like kind of play defense while disrupting like uh the Assassins I think both new and I think marionette probably gives them fits honestly um because it's just so efficiently presents disruption I just does a lot of damage yeah that dude that dude does so much damage uh I just don't see him like
- 37:30 - 38:00 popping up unlike another wizard who may be winning events yeah that's interesting because I think we've also been seeing like a decline in the number of weakest links that people are playing I'm not entirely sure why I guess it's cuz Aurora is falling off a little bit for some reason I think she's just less popular even though she's kind of I think still strong um but yeah and fewer MST Heroes maybe than people are like cutting the weak Lings which in theory felt like okay maybe ailo can do
- 38:00 - 38:30 something uh because you're playing against like synas and stuff which aren't really disrupting you uh I think it's I'm GNA say something crazy okay I don't actually know if a Miss Phil hero is the best deck in the format anymore and I like I will stand by that statement because like watching people play Zen this weekend into other decks like I think Z do well like Zen didn't really do well new didn't really do well like obviously like three out of like 26 news I think it was like made day two
- 38:30 - 39:00 and like obviously there was like I think it top AED like one copy top AED two copies toped but like the news that were doing well were doing very very well but like the majority of the news were not doing well same thing with like Zen like I saw Zen in day two but I did not see them winning in day two and then I saw enigmas also in day two but not winning in day two but I think MST like reacts to the formats really well but especially like super early into the format it's going to struggle
- 39:00 - 39:30 and I think the new decks specifically are actually good against the missil decks and keep them somewhat in line like they're not like super oppressive like they used to be uh like in Rosetta format um but I like 100% Zen is going to ll in rtn season but I don't think it's like oh week one is just like oh Zen's final off and then we never have to deal with this deck again and like if he survives week one of rtn I wouldn't be surprised at this point is really good Syra is really good okay
- 39:30 - 40:00 so we're going to tangent here then Peter so what do you think is the best deck in the format right now if it's not hero you think it's Syra yeah I just think of Syra it's like it was probably one to be going to be the deck that I was going to bring uh to Memphis if Kano didn't win the rubber ducky race uh side note if you don't know anything about the rubber ducky race there's a website where you can name rubber duckies and they race in like a pond and you can like you name them and I was like kind of waffling after the IRA needle ban for
- 40:00 - 40:30 like what I should be playing in Memphis and then the I didn't have all like the cards uh yet for the new set and I didn't really want to play like super pre-sale prices for them as well uh so I was going to borrow for somebody and he was like can you make the decision today so I know if to bring this deck cuz somebody else was asking to play it and so I loaded up the rubber ducky race put Kano on one of them cuz I was like it you have to put Kano there at least and it was one of those rubber duck races where the Kano duck was just in the lead the entire
- 40:30 - 41:00 time and never like usually the the one in the lead the entire time like Peters off and loses and it never lost it just kept going so I had to play Kano I mean that makes sense the the ducky called it I mean and you cashed as well so I guess kind yeah I C as well but to answer your question about sja I think specifically the interaction between Mas momentum and flick knives is like really oppressive um specifically back in the five meta um I used to be like a big believer in
- 41:00 - 41:30 links in the Met uh in the mirror uh when I went my battle Harden back in the day um but then I got embarrassed by Dr Patel uh before when we were testing in the Dragon shield house before like the the first ever worlds when he was playing Mas momentum when I was playing links and I've been like when you explain the math of like if your opponent blocks with a card uh it's like three theoretical value if they were going to draw a card if you draw the card or don't and if you can do that multiple times in a turn you get to do that even more times and block for two
- 41:30 - 42:00 with Mas momentum but the thing with the Mas momentum and the flick knives is that now you attack you know two times as hit then you present your attack they block it you flick knives and then you present it again so every single turn you get to do present the Mas momentum trigger twice basically um and you get to do a damage off the flick knives and you get to get your uh your like knives back most of the time as well so you're just threading so many on hit draw and you can force it over with ancestral empowerment and stuff like that I think
- 42:00 - 42:30 that interaction specifically is the reason why Syra is going to do so well moving forward especially when the chest piece uh whenever you flick your knives you can just gain a resource like every single time like it doesn't you can do multiple resources in the same turn it just like until you hit three then it will die and you can just get two resources then block for one and it's it's very like once you know your equipment leaves you can just you know play a fair game or
- 42:30 - 43:00 just keep pinging them with the flick knives one a turn and do unpreventable damage like it's uh it scales very well yeah cinder's turns look something like head jab you let it hit uh Blaze head long uh you block it or whatever they flick a knife at you head jab like they flick a knife at you float one head jab you you have to block that too and then they play like the one for five that deals two damage to you or like something cuz they they don't have to pitch for it and like that's a four card
- 43:00 - 43:30 hand they draw a card and it's just like oh my God and then like the deck plays snatch with like it's just it's tough like blocking against the deck is really tough yeah the amount of times I saw like people block the masc momentum triggers and like I even did myself like block the masum triggers and they're just like all right flick knives get a resource Breaking Point Your Arsenal is destroyed you're just like and I draw a card and they draw a card you're just like you're like wow they just attacked me for like 18 Drew card and get the
- 43:30 - 44:00 Arsenal for the next turn and killed my Arsenal and I'm just like uh and now I have a one card hand and I'm like oh I can't I Arsenal pass yeah and then they're just like do it again or like one for seven at the end of the chain this time and it's just like it's very good it's very good I agree cnra is really really strong but I do wonder how much of a performance this past weekend was people I guess not being prepared for the mask momentum interaction specifically cuz some play pattern that I was seeing a lot was people trying to
- 44:00 - 44:30 block the mask on the second chain link like the way you would against like a katsu or something right they always be like oh it's the second one you block it here um cuz if they get over it you still have the third one to block but against syndra like whatever you block they will just flick there so I think once people get more used to like looking at their hand and realizing they need to come in at least two cards to stop the mask or just let the syndra have it like people aren't used to that play pattern yet and I feel like that was one of the reasons why she was is doing as well as she was this past weekend and I expect once people get
- 44:30 - 45:00 better at playing against her and recognizing this play pattern that her stock goes down a little bit but I do agree with Y all that she is incredibly incredibly strong for sure I I think people will adapt but when I think about like okay how am I going to adapt it's not immediately obvious like when I think about okay CU I knew cnra was going to be really good going to this calling right we've been getting our ass beat by Yuki for like the last week um and so it's like okay how do I prepare
- 45:00 - 45:30 my deck for syndra and it got to the point where I was thinking about like new all the time and I was like man I'm just G to play Kano like screw this like I just you know I'm playing Decks that are like kind of tuned in the syndra and I'm like still getting my ass beat so it's like it's not immediately obvious how to shut this down I'm sure people will figure out ways but like it's not so easy as oh okay now that I know this is a thing I'm just going to beat it yeah it might be just something so yeah Peter yeah sorry uh I don't I don't think CRA is like Z tier or anything
- 45:30 - 46:00 like that like I think it is just like a solid like very good Agro deck like probably the best Hager deck like currently like maybe it's like in like even with the fish fry currently until it leaves but I I think it's just solid right it's like you look at your hand and your hand basically does the same thing like it's really hard to Brick on a four card hand when visy can Breck on a four card hand so like you're you're good with small hands cuz sometimes you just go like four four and you're good at long hands doing like 26 like and
- 46:00 - 46:30 like drawing to get the six card like hand um so I think it's good I don't think the counters are like completely obvious and I also thought like maybe like surely the sasset have to be good against like new probably just like disrupt it and then I like watched the top four game and he got ran over I like had disruption and got ran over and I was just like oh well like what are you supposed to actually do against this um and then thinking about guardian and then realizing why would you play
- 46:30 - 47:00 Guardian when everything else beats you so it's like yeah new was theor angle did you say floran could be a floran angle wouldn't floran run too much I don't know he gets a lot of block fours he's got an incredible fridge he's got Unstoppable disruption which I really like um not that she's stopping most of your disruption anyway lots of Life gain I don't know he's just like he's got like the embodiment of Earth turns are incredibly strong like I've had when
- 47:00 - 47:30 I'm struggling against an aggro deck and then I play like like playing floran into any Redline aggro deck felt like always really good to me I don't know not saying that Florian's like actually a good pick but I could see the life gain angle being quite good against Syra specifically because of how much of a damage is evasive and like well impossible to block straight up right you just can't block the flck well not for Florian you get haunting rendition plus shelter and and seeds seeds yeah I was to say seeds seeds has been great actually
- 47:30 - 48:00 seeds has been really good I think seeds is actually super super good into Mario as well actually cuz if you can just stop yourself getting marked against Mario it just turns off the entire deck yeah it sucks new though shelter is so good in this meta like every time I play shelter I'm like oh good against these assassins it's good against burnup shot against Aurora and blocking like the four on hits like it it every time you play shelter and like discard it for the ones it's just a a blowout just a blowout and it's still a zero for four
- 48:00 - 48:30 like at worst it's a zero for four it does feel like if you draw shelter against like a Mario or something you just win that turn cycle if you weren't already marked they just can't Mark you through that unless they discard a Reaper call or something and so you just like easily win the turn cycle um coming back to the you know we talking about syndra so new versus syndra reminds me a lot of new versus Aurora actually where you're like oh wait that deck doesn't Block in theory I should be able to disrupt it and then you disrupt it and it just like jokes on you I have three other cards that do the same thing anyway so here you go he has like 12 off
- 48:30 - 49:00 of three cards I think it's the repetition you know it's like all the cards being able to do the same thing and like very rarely brick in the deck and like okay cool I can do all these cool on hit effects and then syra's like well wait I can also play a value game with shelters and and wax on and like set up with like loyalty beyond the graves and stuff like that and you're just like word of my value go of disrupting you and they're
- 49:00 - 49:30 like yeah I could play two card eight hand and be perfectly fine with it an Arsenal card so Peter are you taking cnra to Portland this weekend then yeah yeah yeah yeah currently I'm uh unbending my cold foil uh blood splatter vest that came in the mail just completely bent it's like not the whoever I like the guy that I bought it from it's not his fault it was just like I picked up the package from my my mailbox and it was like you look at the package you're like this is 100% bent and then uh I don't know where the I
- 49:30 - 50:00 think I I put the here the top loader like you know it's bad when the top loader looks like a pringle like that's when you know it's like this entire thing is just bent so I'm currently putting it under a book trying to do it out but straighten it out um yeah I think I'm play center this weekend uh it was going to be the deck that I was going to play at Memphis originally and then now I'm going to play it at Portland and most likely we
- 50:00 - 50:30 played in rtn season as well um it's a deck that I played a lot of you know played a lot of fi back in the day played a lot of Aurora last set um just basically the same thing uh just some cool interactions and I get to play with my favorite card ever in the game Mas momentum so oh that's fav a good sell for me I had no idea um no no way right guys I'm trying new things today yeah uh you you might need an iron for for the card of yours for the for Audio Only
- 50:30 - 51:00 listeners Peter showed us a Toploader that kind of straight up had a crease r the right in the middle of it uh but boys we have one more wizard to talk about and speaking of Heroes that people are bringing to this weekend Marin I hear you're thinking of bringing verdant to battle hard and Port is that correct decided to bring verdant to Portland you have decided I I have decided I got my like C I picked up my cold foil like my marble at looks so nice they like 120 right now um
- 51:00 - 51:30 cuz you know she sucks side side note do you play with like the text box out front or you play with like the full marble okay so I I feel like I'm one of the only people who actually for the most part prefers the cold foil side to the marble side I think it looks cleaner um I don't know why but what I like about this one is that uh when she's online I can flip I haven't decided which version I'm going to flip to I think I'm going to
- 51:30 - 52:00 start this and then flip to the Marvel when she's online yeah that's and I'm really excited about that that's 100% the play you flipped our Marvel that's actually the play it's sick right it's sick I saw someone do that with floring and I was like the the first time I ever saw someone do that was actually with starvo back in the day cuz you know they released that call F staro there's a Marvel there a full art on the back so they would like start their turn flip the staro if they have the reveal and then at the end of the turn they flip it back and I was like okay that's that's a cool thing but also what the heck um okay so
- 52:00 - 52:30 so you said verdance sucks So why are you bringing Vance to Portland um so I was inspired by John Jonathan vulk who top the battle Harden and also like went deep in the CC calling yeah I I think he also top 32 uh definit top 32 I he may have top 16 yeah I'm not sure don't quote me on it he lost to two canos on his way way like me you play me which is like an unwinable
- 52:30 - 53:00 match up for ver he did almost win it on camera if he had a blue instead of a yellow he wins yeah um but yeah it was like I don't know I've watched him and like a couple other people have told me like Hey listen like I'm winning with this deck like no one gives verdance any respect but I'm winning with this deck and then my experience with verdance has always been like this deck's dog [ __ ] as I'm playing it I don't know if I can say that word on this but I just did sorry MH um like it feels like that act terrible as I'm playing it and then my opponent dies and
- 53:00 - 53:30 I'm like and then it just kind of keeps happening um and so yeah I'm like you know what let's like let's do it I'm I'm down to have like a week where I just play a new thing and like have a good time it's just a battle hardened right like I and and I think it'd be fun and I really I'd love to like make a write up so many people have been asking about a write up of verdence and I can't like in good conscience do it because I just don't uh so I've been putting in time whenever I can trying to play games of verdance
- 53:30 - 54:00 this week I've been approaching the deck a little bit differently thanks to some advice that John gave me uh which has been working out quite a bit getting a little bit more familiar with like how the deck is actually supposed to function it's been I've been enjoying it it's been fun and we did just speak about how seeds of tomorrow actually seems to be pretty strong this mattera right you play against an assassin that card probably does quite a bit uh maybe not new so much cuz it can steal it and just no that's like that's such a bad match that match sucks yeah Syra yeah good
- 54:00 - 54:30 against Syra too right like she's trying to do his Mouse momentum stuff and just like stop all your break points stop your flick which is otherwise impossible for people to block which can deny her the resource too right yeah it denies the resource denies the mask um can kind of strand her same thing with like Marinette where he thinks he's going to do a thing and then you like cast seeds and it just strands him with two three cards in hand um that's very good I've been really impressed with channel amp heroic I don't actually know what the card's called uh channel the Millennium tree yeah that one yeah as a Costa you got to know these things H anyway it's just
- 54:30 - 55:00 like very good when you're just like okay I'll activate surgeon Aether tide it's dealing four you have ab1 that you're not pitching to because you're syndra uh so like take four and then you like destructive ather tide them for five or you pulsing a through them for eight right and like you've done 10 damage and maybe disrupted them or you just m warp them like just like tree mind warp is so good uh there's a like late game I was playing a game against cnra today where I went like um sigil rampant
- 55:00 - 55:30 growth so I've dealt like I've gained four I've dealt two and then I mind warped them for six and I was like wait this is really good like that was really strong and so the deck is just the problem with the deck is it plays a bunch of garbage like so many cards in your deck are bad it doesn't quite work the way it's supposed to because like she just doesn't have the pieces yet so you're playing like some poop John's list has yellow uh for to the forest which is like objectively bad um not that I can find anything
- 55:30 - 56:00 better it's just like not great uh so the deck is not quite there it reminds me of like Icelander before you found bander not saying that bander exists for burd yet I don't think it does but like a lot of the core of what you can do I it's giving me the same feeling where I do something and I go hey that was really powerful but you're only doing it uh also really to me the the big problem I found R verdence is that there no Earth block threes that's like Autumn's touch
- 56:00 - 56:30 and then her specialization and that's it and you try to defend you don't want to block with anyway yeah and try to put these Earth cards in your graveyard so you can decompose them and then they all just block for nothing and you're just like how am I supposed to survive so how have you dealt with that part like how is the syndra not just running you over before you can even come online yeah I'm about 500 into Syra and I think I'm probably not approaching the mag up in the best way um but you just like block with all your like I find myself just blocking with all my like all my Earth
- 56:30 - 57:00 cards early and then um I try to keep my life total up your decomposers are going to be mostly a d reacts right until like felling's online then like felling late game is pretty good felling early is not that great um but I try to keep my life total up that way I can like keep a tree hand and I just go like okay tree staff mind warp you okay next turn you know tree I already have the tree so I just go like staff into pulsing a both modes so I can pitch two Earth cards keep it around another turn Okay staff
- 57:00 - 57:30 destructive ather TI you right like and you just you put out so much you just did 30 damage and then you find a Sigil you put it in your Arsenal you draw pulsing Aether and you go like on their turn you just go like sigil sack your helmet rampant Striders pulsing ather you you know here's another eight damage or like whatever it is um if you can get to your turn it's even more damage so like the just it has a lot of damage uh but you have to prioritize the correct damage and that's something that
- 57:30 - 58:00 I'm still learning and I think I'm not doing the best at like I'll often go and just kind of like okay I'm going to take some damage so that I can cast this like plow or this FY and then I realize like two turns later that I really wish I just had a little bit more life like if IID just blocked with this instead of then maybe it would have set me up better you know it's yeah it's really it's it's something that I'm learning on the deck you know Wizards value things weird yeah and find the pivoton for Wiz I guess Kano maybe a bit different but with Icelander too you had to go through
- 58:00 - 58:30 the whole learning curve of this is what you can pivot on and not this yeah exactly exactly so it feels very similar but like again it feels like you have 45 of the 60 cards okay okay I have one question for you yeah did ring of roses do anything for this deck I mean you now have one really good card so one card on 60 is good yeah well it's
- 58:30 - 59:00 like okay so before you had 44 cards that you actually wanted in the deck but now you have 45 but that 45th card is really good like if you just open the game on ring of roses and your opponent can't blow it up like you're going to win a you're going to win a decent chunk more than you would have prior okay so I guess I get like 10 value off that card it's so good which I guess which matchups does that even help like it's like like how often are you gaining the life against like something like a syndra to be honest I guess just
- 59:00 - 59:30 a Sigil pretty often probably against syndra probably only like five times a game maybe six but like even then like if you gain a life on your turn five times when you're active then that's like an additional cuz you gain you gain Like You cast sigil you deal one you gain a life and you ping again that's two extra value you got each time you gained life so like if really adds up in the mid game I don't take the time to play Ring of roses it just blocks but
- 59:30 - 60:00 like the deck is so happy to have a yellow Earth non attack three block right cuz we're starved yeah I mean we just spoke about how there's like a Dar of Earth three blocks and it's just you force run like autum such I think for a while we were running yellow or even red Autumn stouch just cuz we just wanted more three we had like six to nine in all of our list cuz we were like please just give me three block yeah Peter have you been messing around with Vance at all
- 60:00 - 60:30 no I I actually played a lot more asilio than I have played verdance and like I've actually played a lot more ailio just like on talar just like in the last like two months than anything just because like it is it is fun to play like when you get to do the thing it's like very fun to do um but no no I I was never intrigued with verdance whenever I realized it was just like you play in your own turn type of deck uh and just haven't looked at too much for it but I actually think it's in a pretty unique
- 60:30 - 61:00 spot like I played against played against sea this weekend and I thought like the deck was doing you know some interesting things like obviously doesn't do it against Kano but I I was watching him cuz like every single time I finish around I'd be like like you know when I was XO or X1 like X1 for a very long time and I was like walking around the tables and I would like his games go long so I was like walk by like watch his game and I'm like wow I thought like this deck was a meme but he just keeps winning and just kept winning and then I just every single every
- 61:00 - 61:30 single round I watched him win and I was just like oh this deck is like way more real than we think but he's just like the only person winning with it currently he also put like a million reps in what like the two there's two things that convinced me to play the deck I don't think the deck's like tier one I don't think it's like super super great but I think you know John clearly proved that you can bring into a tournament and see success and I like to play decks like that um and I just miss playing a longer game Wizard you know like uh I want that feel so like the first thing that convinced me is um
- 61:30 - 62:00 scour main deck is just it's just a house right now like a deck that gets to play three scour in the main and be happy about it I gain so much equity in so many matchups where like my VIN set sets up stuff and I just scour for five and like get all your stuff it's just incredibly powerful um I played against a Fang today where I just like blew up five fty tokens oh that's on disgusting it's just good it's just like Sky's just very very good right now um
- 62:00 - 62:30 and the second and the most important thing that convinced me to try out the deck to give it a real like honest try is that I would also go and try to watch as much of John's games as possible uh and pretty much every few turns I would you know he looks at his hand and obviously he's playing so it's slower than like in my head what I decide I would do in that spot so I would decide what I would do and every few turns he would do something completely different and I find that that's usually
- 62:30 - 63:00 a good sense of like okay I'm clearly not like playing this deck with the full potential uh it convinced me to try new after I watched you uh win the battle Harden because it was the same thing where I watched you play and I just like would have made completely different completely different plays on like a vast majority of the turns and it's like okay I there's a lot that I do not know well thanks I'm glad I could inspire you on that front um SCA main board I mean also viscer seems to be kind of one of the best decks right now
- 63:00 - 63:30 I mean like I think he's definitely tier one like I feel like his only bad match up is Zen and like right he's extremely good yeah and then scow main board seems like a house into that as well just blow ups it's so good plus like you got a decent chunk of Blues but you also have like seeds shelter's good um your disruption gets through his armor because it's like plow under and fing which is really good so like it does a lot of it does a lot of really good stuff in Vis rot cool sounds good well
