04:30 - 05:30: Conclusion and Final Thoughts In this concluding chapter, the speaker reflects on a recent tour experience, specifically mentioning their decision to include a '101 T4' in their bag. Does He REGRET Buying TAKOMO Irons!? - 12 MONTH HONEST REVIEW! Transcription
00:00 - 00:30 in today's video we're looking at a 12 Monon long-term brutally honest review of the Tacomo irons Bobby how are you I'm wonderful thank you for asking thank you so much for coming on the channel Rob I appreciate it massively no problem um we're doing a couple of videos today with Rob about what's in his bag and I wanted to get a bit of a long-term review on the Tacomo so you have the 301 irons it's a split set so you can see we have 301 CBS and a couple of 301 MBS we'd love to start with the fouron but I I don't know where it is so I genuinely
00:30 - 01:00 don't know where it is I'm sure we'll that down but um what's your first impressions been on these we're going to hit a couple of shots with all of them and just get a bit of a taste for it I've liked him I've really enjoyed him um I've not got to use him as much as I'd have liked to but every time I've used them the people that I've been playing with have said oh what are those and I've been able to say oh they're comos and people have got to try them because obviously you can't try them so I think just having him in hand is nice for other people as well who want to see him and try him and know you've been
01:00 - 01:30 around and people have said oh can I ever go with your Rons cuz you don't see me it's interesting one because the the whole concept for me is based on that kind of direct consumer pricing so these are about kind of 500 to 600 aren't they depending where you go we've got KBS 120 shaft in there now you've changed the grips on these as well what was Chang the grip they had just normal lamping grips on which I don't mind I didn't mind them but because I'd work in a shop and I can get things cheaper yeah I thought oh I'll treat myself to some new grips how you work in a shop and can get things cheaper but still opted to go
01:30 - 02:00 down this kind of direct consumer route I just really like even at you know even at the full price there's still a lot cheaper than you know the major brand set of ir and I don't know I like them I like the idea that I can go and get you know retrofitted for him I might get some different chefs in there one day yeah but the heads will always be mine so because obviously when we are talking about things like this one of the big issues that a lot of people will say is that you can't go and get fitted you can't really go and TR them and that's
02:00 - 02:30 where you've kind of got to put your faith in the reviews and the faith in what people are using a little bit now a very positive start from Rob there I know there are a couple of things that you want to mention and that what maybe a change but let's kick things off with the five iron and just take a couple of shots because um I I don't really want to put any words in your mouth here I just want okay A bit of a kind of long-term honest review so what's your handicap Rob five five handicap oh dear it's a good strike to K things off we've just down
02:30 - 03:00 yeah it's bit further left than what I was wanting how do you feel about the Forgiveness elements that you found with the 301s cuz obviously there's different options you can get there's 101s there's 101 T's there's 2011's yeah I didn't like the 2011's uh feel S no I had to go with Tims I didn't really like them I'd really like the 101 T's I think they're really really good yeah seems I've lost my 4 iron I might try and get a 4 iron in the 101t actually just so it is a bit more even forgiving so I've got a two iron but I have a bit of a gap now between my four my two interesting you
03:00 - 03:30 say that because on the next 100 tour I don't know if you remember but I actually put a 101 T4 in my bag just for one of the legs of the tour because you get so much forgiveness you get plenty of distance you get the great feel you get everything about it but I think a lot of people potentially don't want to just have a lone iron that's different yeah but I think if it's a similar you know if it's the same brand as well it's not going to be too far off and I know it's just a bit more forgiveness as well than than a CB so yeah and what have your scores been like after using them pretty good
03:30 - 04:00 oh course yeah yeah they've not but I've not had any you're a solid five handicap aren't it's not like it's going up or down really not had any bad rounds I really like the MB lower irons I feel like you can really compress them and get some nice shots into the greens and especially in the summer when I played hold greens as well nice like that I'll be honest have not hit that well at all but it's still yeah in the Fairway fine I mean it's it's gone ex is that where you've been f when
04:00 - 04:30 you're kind of out playing with your mates or even in in the competitions cuz you do play competitive golf as well don't you it's not just yeah I do I still like to play a little bit if I can do you think you can be a serious golfer having these irons in the bag yeah of course because I think a lot of people see as just a social media brand but even though they are cheaper like I say it's just it's been able to cut out a little bit of the cost of making them by being direct consumer but you still get a great club like I say the chefs are good the KBS I've changed the grips just cuz I wanted to the grips were absolutely anyone can change grips can't
04:30 - 05:00 yeah there was nothing wrong with the grips I would like to get them retrofitted yeah like go to sggt and get retrofitted from just to see what if the shafts would end up being different for me right players another one can you flight them down do you think yeah I like um I like just putting the sort of back of the stands and kind of just trapping down on it and oh yeah I mean it's drawn a little bit too much but but it's that flight you're after isn't it and I quite like playing that shot in Wind as well
05:00 - 05:30 because that's when I feel like I can play my best golf is when the conditions are worse because I I've got the confidence to be able to kind of play things down and yeah it doesn't balloon up in the air so I mean to be honest if you think about it realistically a forged golf head is just a forged golf head yeah like it's going to have a loft on it it's not really going to have that much technology in it because it's probably perimeter weighted when you're in the CB and then when you go to the MB it's obviously not as perimeter weighted it's just more of a blade but let's speak about the blades let's go to the the mids and the short IRS and see again I want I want I want brutal honesty okay
05:30 - 06:00 I'll be brutal don't worry it's a beautiful blend isn't it yeah so let's talk about that so you've gone for the split set and you can just buy the split set so CB into Mb we've got CB in the seven and then A9 in the MB which we're going to hit now what are your thoughts on it like were there any negatives really let's try and get into that because it's hard to say that any Brand's perfect when it comes to clubs the only negative is that you can't you can't try them and get sort of I mean you can get them a just to kind you can order them flatter and did you do that
06:00 - 06:30 no I got them as standard because my idea was to go and fit myself it's just been me that's not done it so that's that's the only negative that you know but do you think it's AFF to the shots you hit have you still hit good shots I've still hit great shots I've bad shots like everyone doesn't have hit great shots it's it's not really a negative to you honest it's just a feedback it's a negative from me but it's not a negative from someone else you've been busy aren you've not had a lot of time no and I would like to get them you know the Loft and lies done and that's just something I need to do yeah but the thing I'm most happy with is the we of them so similar to yours really I
06:30 - 07:00 like how I like how you can see the wear on them I yeah I don't want something to be to look perfect I want it to look used I want it to you know look like I've hit shots with them and yeah I I really like that but I mean I love the color of yours I think they're the best ones they've done the copper ones as a standard iron they're just so nice they look so good over time some shots then we've got 150 yards here we've got the aan and how do you feel about the blend from CB to MB is that something you'd
07:00 - 07:30 recommend yeah because of how sort of seamless it is yeah it's not they're not a huge difference I don't think it's just a little bit more forgiveness mhm and if that's what you're looking for see now this it just looks so nice it doesn't really look like an MB I don't think it kind of looks similar to what I don't know a p790 would look like or a yeah probably p790 something similar to that which I I really like the look of I think they're they're really nice but
07:30 - 08:00 these are half the price so you could get two sets of these for a valid point yeah oh that's nice Rob that's all over it it just feels like I can swing it really easy I do you feel like you've given up any distance for going MB no not really thing is as well with my shorters I'm not that bothered about distance if I know exactly how far this goes I don't have to try and muscle anything there because I know as well it's going to come in with a decent trajectory and stop yeah which is what I
08:00 - 08:30 want to do on greens I want to be able to stop the ball on a green and you know like you just have yeah I don't want an a to go from 120 to 160 I'd rather I don't really care about hitting my a 160 I'd rather it just go 150 140 and I know that it's going to go that every time and I can just put an easy swing on it that that's the thing I most like about it's how easy they are to hit so there it feels like I've it sort of the similar shot I've pulled that a little bit Yeah but they should be
08:30 - 09:00 exactly the same distance it shouldn't be any any further and you know if you flag High majority of the time you're generally going to do okay aren't you yeah it's just like I say it's just easy to hit they both that that felt so good that take a nice little divot just yeah easy again I basically hit three exact same shots there they're all one yard draws yeah well that's exactly the same again just right of the flag yeah it's Flag
09:00 - 09:30 High isn't it and it kind of looks like I've taken almost one divot here yeah even though I've taken three if we have a look at the Leading Edge you can see that they have actually that's the top line that one Bobby Leading Edge they've actually kind of buffered it away and shered it away now that's something which tit lists initially started doing with their MBS and everyone was like oh yeah Turf interaction whatever of course but actually does make a bit of a difference because it acts like a secondary bounds so it does help you kind of glide through that Turf a little bit more right come on let's get one Stone dead I think that first one might
09:30 - 10:00 be yeah I think it might cuz those other ones are flag High aren't they yeah I like the looking down at them you don't if you if you just gave someone this club they probably wouldn't know what it is no definitely not oh gorgeous that is all over it as well oh that's dancing around the hole yeah and I really see what you mean about that kind of divot pattern now as well that's four shots there I've hit absolutely gorgeous Bob you can take a
10:00 - 10:30 divot can't you son I I like to take a divot yeah so what are your thoughts Bob unlike the kind of social media presence obviously me and Chris have the next 100 obviously now we have like Grant har and the Brian Brothers CU you're that kind of you're a bit younger than us so you're probably more into all that youth yeah is that like does are you are you proud to have him because of obviously like harvat and the Brian brothers and stuff like that does it make a difference to you it's nice to probably got more neety for them yeah and it's to be honest it's quite nice that when people that don't have them get to see them in
10:30 - 11:00 person they go oh wow they're really nice in person it's good to see that because a lot of things look good online don't they and then when you see him in person why have you smoked there that is all what what are you talking about that's weird what do you mean that's what are you talking about but interesting you've not gone for the wedges you've stuck with the vcas yeah I'll be honest I've used vus my whole life and I just I can't change the shape I just love the shape of ois yeah I really like the SM SS I had the black ones
11:00 - 11:30 I love them and then these ones are just they so nice as well but there is a wedge in there that's Tacomo so we'll talk about that now um and just see again bit of a long-term review so we'll go FV up the Fairway never we go sounds good how far is it to the flag Robert we have it's 119 playing 125 which is probably perfect is it for you p m I think so yeah now pit mwise it's an interesting one because I think that looks as good as any
11:30 - 12:00 oh it's beautiful ever one thing I'm going to site here is Strike location from you've obviously been practicing a bit that could be down to shaft length yeah potentially you could just kind of move that out a little bit it could be down to obviously like terrible technique but um there's every chance that it could be down to just maybe not quite getting the shaft length right when you've ordered them yeah I mean I've not hit any I'm not going to say it now while before I hit any shots but obviously that one's not ideal yeah where it's come out I don't remember hitting any come on we're going to the closest to pin Loser by breakfast yeah
12:00 - 12:30 and I better not lose cuz guess what I hav brought my wallet oh what a shock um so how have you felt with blade of pitchy M it was a bit of a gamble because I've never had anything like this before just from seeing the way you and Chris kind of use yours yeah and having me used it I was a bit surprised because I've never used this sounds weird I've never used my pitching wedge to chip before or hit different shots with it other than a full pitching wedge
12:30 - 13:00 so I quite like it because it's it's more of like a obviously like a strong lofted lob wedge I see it as where I can kind of hit like 50 yard shots and stuff and really control it because it it just looks so nice sat down at the ball look looks are everything send one in they are with with irons especially if you want in like a nice looking bladed iton a lot of people will tell you that looks are important but I actually think they are i' I prefer something that's kind of plain at the back like these are just simple
13:00 - 13:30 it's a great strike H just right oh oh flag flag High just in the bunker yeah go on you have two I'll have one sure yeah got to be straighter lovely that's got to be good surely that is such a good golf swing is it long it's not too bad good shot thank you I'm I'm thrilled with that again divver every shots like that really
13:30 - 14:00 working me out with this camera today B with this yeah with me we've got some funny outakes at the end actually with yeah but your it's your thing really is it oh my God you're doing well thanks again not sounding Patron that's the most pedantic thing I've ever heard in my life go on then beat me almost like what in said you'll get by in life remember that yeah but she also called me a dog so well you got the dog in you oh that's nice don't beat him with his own clo youve beaten me with my own
14:00 - 14:30 surely not don't go in what a but that's like probably a good way to round this video up is how good these can be off the rack like the're very very I think they're impressive I think that if you do start to order like two de flat two right there are what's the word I'm looking for tolerances there are tolerances between the bigger Brands as well so you're not necessarily getting exactly what you think you're ordering but realistically I think the lower IRS come a little bit upright for what I like visually so I've kind of flatten mine a bit um but there cheers Bob thanks for your time I tell you what Bob
14:30 - 15:00 round us off thank you for watching please subscribe like the video if you don't I will find you
