- 00:00 - 00:30 well welcome Liberty and Health Alliance I am Dr Leela Lewis and this is another wonderful interview that I am really looking forward to today we have some very special guests many of you actually I think all of you are going to know them um that you I I personally have been blessed by these gentlemen throughout my life and I'm hoping that you will as well so I want to start by introducing Dr Ben Carson Dr Ben Carson is a world-renowned retired neurosurgeon

- 02:00 - 02:30 in prayer if you don't mind yeah so glad everyone's with us let's let's ask God's blessing on this interview Lord uh we long to be who you've called us to be to hold your hand to walk in your way to hear your voice now I pray Lord guide this dialogue may we give strength to each other to those who have listened and have tuned in and now Lord may you be honored and glorified in both the principles and the sentiments that are shared here in Jesus Jesus name I pray
- 02:30 - 03:00 amen amen thank you so much for that thank you Pastor Kelly well gentlemen today you know we we've all gone through globally a situation over the last four to five years and during those periods of time during the mandates and and the pandemic we saw religious Liberties and freedoms being restricted around the world and even here within the United States but many of those here in the United States and even globally to some extent have been reinstated particularly
- 03:00 - 03:30 I'm thinking about even the Louisiana bill that just happened several of the recent executive orders that the president president Trump has initiated and we're seeing some of those things being restricted Dr Carson we're going to come to you first what are your thoughts on some of the things that took place as far as religious liberty and freedom of conscience during the covid pandemic and the mandates in particular I think the co pandemic uh was actually a blessing in disguise
- 03:30 - 04:00 because it gave us an opportunity to see how easily our rights can be eliminated uh by government and that will P make people perk their ears up and be much more Vigilant I think in the in the future uh you know this was really uh Way Beyond anything that anybody would have expected to happen in this country and what was probably even more amazing was how easily people capitulated it uh
- 04:00 - 04:30 uh you know gave up and said okay we'll do it uh without any really scientific proof or evidence and uh what was very interesting is that the FDA actually has a rule in place that says if there's a pandemic uh they will not issue an eua emergency use authorization if there are other
- 04:30 - 05:00 viable options so this is the reason that hydroxy chloroquin and iberin and things of that nature were issued uh Anthony faly just put the hammer down on those things immediately even though you look at a place like the western coast of Africa where they had 94% less occurrence of Co than the rest of the world
- 05:00 - 05:30 and you have to ask yourself why is that that's because they take antimalarials like hydroxy chlorine but there was no curiosity why are they not getting this disease same thing in Southern India with iberin so you know it I think opens up the FDA and some of our policies also wasn't just Dr FY uh obviously if we're having pandemic
- 05:30 - 06:00 we should be saying just the opposite let's explore every Avenue everything that looks like it might be helpful not try to funnel everything into one area where an enormous amount of money was made by the way and we also have to to bear in mind that mandates are not a part of American culture and if we can mandate that you have to to take this vaccine or you lose
- 06:00 - 06:30 your job or you can't be seen in public or whatever why wouldn't we mandate other things as well later on maybe even including what day you should go to church and that you had to go to church you know these are these are not things that are consistent with the freedoms that uh were proposed for this country and which we've lived by over the course of time now it is wonderful uh what's
- 06:30 - 07:00 been going on with the new Administration and uh in the first Trump Administration there were more executive orders around religious liberty than any other president probably with all the others put together and uh we're rapidly moving down that same track this time around it's wonderful uh you know restoring the pay for the military people who refused to get the vaccine you know that shows that there's a real
- 07:00 - 07:30 desire to look at this thing fairly and to treat people in a Fair Way mandates don't tend to do that they tend to put everybody in the same category and uh something that may be good for one uh may not be good for another the other thing we have to recognize is when you look at the viers data on uh adverse
- 07:30 - 08:00 reactions to the vaccine the amount of complications and death from the covid vaccine far exceeded anything uh previously even with all the other things put together so were people told that of course not uh if they had been told that there would have been considerably less enthusiasm about the vaccine the other thing to keep in mind is the virus mutated
- 08:00 - 08:30 at the first iteration of that virus it was very virent particularly because no one had seen it no one had immunity to it and it was quite deadly at that point and you know the alarm that was uh sounded was appropriate but over the course of time several iterations later it became much less virent to the point where the vaccine was probably more dangerous than the virus
- 08:30 - 09:00 and none of that was really explained to people and even today you occasionally see commercials on television about getting the vaccine uh when the virus is no worse than the common coal uh so it's so important and we'll talk about it later that people make this kind of information known and I appreciate the fact uh Dr Lewis that you're doing this that you're uh getting this information
- 09:00 - 09:30 out to people well thank you so much for that Dr Carson and thank you for your service and your support of all of our liberties we I truly personally uh say that from the bottom of my heart and I know many many many other people feel the same way well with that Pastor Kelly based on some of the things that um Dr Carson said sadly it seems that perhaps even within Christendom and even within our own church some still seem to be unwilling
- 09:30 - 10:00 to acknowledge or state that there has been harm that took place because of the mandates many people lost their jobs we've been hearing week after week on our station here at Liberty and health people's sad stories of not just losing their jobs but losing custody of their children and even children young adults older adults leaving the church alog together because they felt abandoned because of the hardships that that they encountered not to mention the vaccine
- 10:00 - 10:30 injuries and even death that occurred because of it given all of that Pastor Kelly what is your advice at this point well you know I think it's still not too late to go ahead and live for Christ the way you believe you should live and not be afraid uh we want to keep our eyes on Jesus we do love the church and uh we believe that as one author would State enfeebled and defective as it may be it is still the one object of his Supreme regard so keeping our eyes on Jesus uh
- 10:30 - 11:00 valuing the community we share in our religious Journey these are things that we should continue to still hold as a high priority and of course we should pray but we're not going to pray our problems away um God's going to work uh and he's going to work through prayer but he's going to work through people and I think what God's doing uh is that this has been a blessing in disguise it has been an opportunity for people to kind of examine where we're at in
- 11:00 - 11:30 society and how rapidly our liberties can evaporate it's also been a chance to examine our own heart and see what kind of Courage we have what are we willing to lose um how much do we value our citizenry in in this free country of course not every country in the world is this free is this one and so it makes what happens here in America that much more important so you know there's a an old quote from uh the the late 19th century that said the greatest need of the world is the need of of people that won't be bought or sold that in their
- 11:30 - 12:00 inmost souls are true and honest and uh you know I I think of uh the painting uh of of free speech by Norman Rockwell you know he had his Four Freedoms and and I can still see what to me looks like a farmer standing in a church with his hand on the back of the Pew and uh this has been inherent in in the protection of this country for the giving of the Three Angels messages and
- 12:00 - 12:30 it's important for us to remember when we surrender Civil or Civic or religious Liberties we're surrendering the freedom to tell the message and we're committed to the truth as a body of Believers and there are certain truths that our founding fathers were committed to about inalienable rights and the protection of of uh our personhood not to be overrun by the common good the common fear or whatever else might be oper out there so
- 12:30 - 13:00 with a lot of humility that gives confidence and respect to proper Authority but also the strength to resist the improper exercise of authority uh we as church members have to be willing to to lose a few things to keep the things that matter most and that requires some strength of person you get that from Jesus you get it from friends you get it from laws and when society's good uh you get it from the culture but we saw that working backwards well thank you so much for that um
- 13:00 - 13:30 Pastor Kelly that was that was very insightful and that leads me to a question um that actually is the reason as as some of you know that Liberty and Health Alliance created the most recent appeal just about a month a about five weeks ago or so the the appeal specifically asking for Action unity and healing we it is important that we pray but it's also important that God we allow God's grace and power to come within us and we stand in action and we
- 13:30 - 14:00 call for Unity of the Brethren and that leads to healing in the community and as we stated some of those statements that have been put out um have been damaging uh particularly along the lines of claims that religious liberty does not apply to Public Health mandates and so in the most recent appeal that you uh were kind of following up on both of what both of you said in this appeal
- 14:00 - 14:30 that I encourage you all to go and download at Liberty do.org it requests three things number one it requests the removal of statements that infringe or limit an individual's Liberty of conscience that has resulted in people having hardship it asks number two that those statements be replaced instead with statements that support Liberty of conscience for all and number three in order to prevent things like this from
- 14:30 - 15:00 happening in the future for individuals who are seeking religious liberty for a conviction to then go to their employer and be denied because there's a statement on the church's website that indicates that the church or they should not believe such a thing or at least it's not globally AC accepted as such that instead statements that affect the World At Large be directly addressed by the world Church in session and I I feel
- 15:00 - 15:30 very impressed that I I think as we think about those things I think that we should as Christians feel supportive of that and I want to invite my my good friend Arthur Mr Martin Mr Martin you read this document or this appeal and you signed it what was the reason that you felt impressed to sign this document thank you there's a lot of reasons uh for the sake of this dialogue
- 15:30 - 16:00 I think when my wife and I reflected back on our experience we felt um we felt like we were the the minority we we didn't even know if there was anybody else that thought like we thought you know when you go through a situation like this um it it's kind of like going in a con I don't want to take this the wrong way but it's kind of like you're going through a brainwashing process and you start to second guess what you already know to be true and coming through this looking back we're
- 16:00 - 16:30 realizing that silence is consent so without responding to error we're condoning it and we can't we just I just can't um the other thing you know it's it's a book that I remember growing up when my parents were teachers in the Avenue School System um there was a book that came out I think it was called care fronting or how to carefront and it was a caring way to confront and I think in any relationship from family to church
- 16:30 - 17:00 to Civil Society there's conflict but out of that if we can engage in a helpful conversation even if we disagree that's how we can arrive at a better solution and I think unless we say something nothing changes um the other thing that hit me was you know Jesus models the best doesn't he like how he handled Lucifer the you know when you look at the great controversy initial source of Liberty he had a
- 17:00 - 17:30 conversation he allowed the fruit to play out and I think it's interesting that from those of us that feel um there that there was some violations of that those who have authority over us in whatever capacity the church the society a healthy leader wants to engage with those who see differently because there's ideas there there's an opportunity for progress and if there is something wrong it can be dealt with in a in a more effective way rather than causing division so even as a leader in
- 17:30 - 18:00 my own sphere even with my kids for example if they have a complaint we we talk about it and if there's something valid then I need to be willing to admit my mistake and if they need to change then it's it's a safer place to change so I support the document for for all of those reasons well thank you so much for that Mr Maron I really appreciate that and that's just an encouragement you know whether we are Ley or church leaders or
- 18:00 - 18:30 whatever our sphere of influence by taking a statement if you will or a stand we actually are standing for the protection of other people's Liberty of conscience I want to come back to Dr Carson Dr Carson um have you had a chance to read the document and if so what were your thoughts as you read the document well I thought it was a a very cogent argument for why we need to be proactive why we need to be willing to
- 18:30 - 19:00 speak out you know when I was running for president um it was very interesting experience traveling all over the country uh to the smallest little hamlets to the largest cities and I was very impressed by one thing and that is that most of the people had common sense but what they didn't have was courage and most people are regardless of what what their feelings are they'd
- 19:00 - 19:30 just rather stand in the corner Instead at the floor than to express their opinions that's a problem uh if you want to have a free Society you have to be willing to speak up because as Ronald Reagan said those freedoms are no more than a generation away from Extinction and uh that really is the thing that is the Hallmark of a free Society the ability to express your
- 19:30 - 20:00 opinions and when those opinions are expressed a lot of times the people who are in Authority learn from it when all they hear is their same propaganda it just entrenches them even further in the way that they think and therefore you're actually doing them a favor also by being able to speak out and our Founders understood that and that's why they were so adamant about fre freedom of
- 20:00 - 20:30 expression uh freedom of religion all these different freedoms because that is the basis of the kind of nation that we have and a lot of people thought it was crazy the Europeans in particular they said you can't have a country that's run on the basis of the will of the people you have to have a dictator you have to have a monarch you have to have somebody who can tell you how to live and they said that America was certain to fail
- 20:30 - 21:00 but we have not failed uh so far 248 49 years and uh the still the question remains as Benjamin Franklin posed when he was asked what do we have a monarchy or a republic he said a republic if you can keep it well has a lot to do with being able to express ourselves and express our opinions and I
- 21:00 - 21:30 believe that our church should be on the Forefront of that uh rather than suppressing people's opinions rather than going along with mandates by being silent uh those are not things that I think would make God proud well that was very very deep Dr Carson thank you so much do you have any
- 21:30 - 22:00 advice along those same lines for our church leaders as they come into spring meetings and just about six weeks and at General Conference session in July yeah I think we particularly when it comes to health issues you know we should hearken back to what happened at the Battle Creek sanitarian and uh how we were very outspoken about the things that are help helpful to people that gives us a lot more
- 22:00 - 22:30 credibility than to come along later on and just criticize things we ought to be advocating recognizing that uh we have a society that spends more money per capita on health care than any other Society on Earth and yet we don't have the best outcomes we spend $133,100 per cap per year um most concierge practices only cost 5 to 10,00 ,000 a year just to
- 22:30 - 23:00 put that in perspective for people so obviously a lot of that money is going to places where it doesn't need to go and it's not really benefiting the health of our population we should be people who are in the Forefront of coming up with designs that work for people rather than just uh sitting back and being critical well thank you for that Dr Carson and with that you know hearing the voice voice of the people listening
- 23:00 - 23:30 to the voice of the people like we we talked about about a week ago First Kings chapter 12 and the the story of rabam I was so impressed with it again and remembering how important it is that we hear the cries of the people we remove their yolks we don't Place yolks upon them and what better place for that to take place then in God's church we must remove the yolks again Isaiah 58 verse six to remove the Yoke that's been
- 23:30 - 24:00 placed upon the people well with that I want to come to Pastor Kelly Pastor Kelly this morning I was in my personal devotion I felt like God led me to Ezekiel chapter 34 and the whole chapter I would encourage everybody to read it again if you haven't read it recently I was really touched by it but the whole chapter is kind of like Leela's interpretation was there was kind of the the false Shepherds if you will that weren't protecting the the sheep that were allowing some of the sheep to get
- 24:00 - 24:30 lost out in the wilderness and and then the true Shepherd contrasting that with Christ himself at the end of the chapter and how he seeks that one sheep just like he said when he came to Earth that one sheep that wandered off and I thought how beautiful how beautiful at his own expense was willing to do that how can I do anything but that how can I do anything but stand for removing the Yoke and protecting that one sheep who may or may not agree with me it's my
- 24:30 - 25:00 duty and my privilege along those lines uh Pastor Kelly what what advice do you have as as a pastor as a a Shepherd here on this Earth if you will for the people well I want to re-echo something I heard Dr Carson say a couple years ago at a event where he spoke in Phoenix he said it won't Remain the land of the free if it's not the home of the brave and this idea that you know we can stand
- 25:00 - 25:30 around and look at the ground or look at our cell phones to avoid personal responsibility as in some of the stories that have been told out there um the the people are going to they're being given the opportunity to put their face into the wind a little bit discover that God's there acquire a little more self-respect find the convicting strength that the Holy Spirit can give um if if that's not there then slowly we
- 25:30 - 26:00 lose all the things that make this life free uh livable joyful um it it appears to me that we're going to have to ReDiscover the fact that Liberty of conscience and religious liberty the way they're used in the great controversy and of the other writings of the same author are used rather interchangeably the word conscience is not even in the Constitution but when right wrting about Liberty religious liberty and Liberty of
- 26:00 - 26:30 conscience using those terms quite interchangeably the author of The Great controversy refers to that grand old document and so I I think we're going to have to sometimes say I made a mistake uh other times we're going to have to continue to count the loss uh Jesus warned us that there would be an expense for following truth but that truth would also set us free and so we're on a journey and God's trying to get us stronger because we're come up to a race
- 26:30 - 27:00 and just like preparing for a marathon or or any kind of size of race you you can't just start the day of and and feel like it's going to turn out all right so CO's a warmup uh I really want to appeal to ministers you know the Bible has many chapters on true and false pastures and since the greatest one in the world is the one of men who can't be bought or sold I think it's super important that the the preachers and the parents and all the people that have oversight in our society are not C captured by Lifestyles that can't pay a financial
- 27:00 - 27:30 price to follow their convictions and I'm afraid that inside our church the first group that's been captured is the ministers if you if if you can't afford to lose your job or you're not willing to lose your job uh in the name of conscience then you might lose your soul in the name of ministry so I'm encouraging people uh God has called us all to live free and yes it's going to cost something but uh as was said silence is consent
- 27:30 - 28:00 and that's really not something a Christian should do we stand by and watch things go downhill uh we've got not only the lost we've got our children we've got our church and it's important for us not to be like the false Shepherds the hirelings uh no matter where our care of concern is where our circle of influence and protection is we have a responsibility to do something wow thank you so much for that Pastor
- 28:00 - 28:30 Kelly I was just as you were as you were speaking I was thinking of that the other chapter that I read this morning and it was in the book that you mentioned the great controversy and if any of you have not read that book we will get you that book in fact we will post it on this link where you can get both a physical copy and the audio but if you haven't recently read chapter 11 of that book The Great controversy it's entitled protest of the princes and
- 28:30 - 29:00 these princes I I was so impressed with them these princes really were princes they had much wealth they had great reputation uh they were highly esteemed and they felt utterly convicted that they could do no other than to follow the will of God even if it meant going against their Church proper if you will even if it meant they even they even stated so you know I I'm willing to give up my entire Kingdom my money my my
- 29:00 - 29:30 people if it means I can follow Christ even my own life to be taken to the stake and I was so impressed by that they took their names and in fact Martin Luther in the book The Great controversy at States Martin Luther said oh no no no let the pastors put their signature to this document let those of us who are making the arguments put our signatures to the document you leaders you have a you you princes you have another role to play and um several of them said absolutely
- 29:30 - 30:00 not essentially how can I do anything other than put my signature down in support of Liberty of conscience and that is my appeal to each of you listening to this right now I guarantee you right now today putting your signature on a document in support of Liberty of conscience is not going to cost you your life but perhaps as the pastor has stated as Dr Carson and brother Arthur have stated perhaps putting our signature down helps to
- 30:00 - 30:30 strengthen us and give us courage to be able to handle who knows what that next test may be so I'm asking you to go right now to Liberty do.org download that document put your signature there I believe I believe it will have a great great impact and with that I want to come back to Dr Carson Dr Carson again I I've spent my my whole young adults and adult life being very
- 30:30 - 31:00 um impressed by God's grace of the influence and the experience that God has given you what advice and recommendations do you have for our viewers for last closing thoughts well the main thing is to recognize that when it comes to freedom of religion we have components in this country who are very anti-god anti-religion and those are the people who seem to be
- 31:00 - 31:30 the most favorable toward mandates and forcing other people to do things and extracting the rights from people you know it's it's fascinating if you look at the Congressional Record from January the 10th 1963 when Congressman hurong of Florida read the 45 goals of Communism in America they included dinner grating the church integrating the family gaining
- 31:30 - 32:00 control schools and uh teacher unions so you could indoctrinate the kids gaining control of the media and Hollywood so you could change the culture making sexual perversion normal natural and healthy all of these kinds of things are going on there are people who are actively advocating those things and uh you know we have to be just as active as they are in resisting those things and and look at our constitution look at our Bill of Rights
- 32:00 - 32:30 look at our Declaration of Independence what is it what do they all point to they point to our rights and that they come from our creator and not from the government and not from a bunch of bureaucrats sitting around making mandates and we have to stand for square against that and each one of us has a sphere of influence we need to be willing to use it thank you so much from that Dr Carson
- 32:30 - 33:00 thank you thank you Pastor Kelly do you have any closing thoughts and can you close us out with prayer please sure you know um God is very good to us very patient he wants us to have a noble Spirit he wants us to be kind he wants us to be brave and uh there's a price to pay to protect the things that matter every parent knows this they lose nights of sleep uh they worry about children making bad decisions decisions when they're not around they go through
- 33:00 - 33:30 adolescence uh the role of the church in a free Society is very important not to co-op the power of the government to protect the culture that keeps people strong and when our churches get to the place where they uh no longer recognize their responsibility and fulfill their roles then the people become weak and malleable and Society slowly loses the identity that actually protects it we assume we have what the generations before us say but slowly it slips through our
