            • 07:00 - 07:30 freaking receding hairline oh man what's going on anyway snack was uh granola pepperoni I got a bunch of freeze-dried stuff got a really light bag for 8 Days majority of the weight is uh is food really really minimal on this on this trip okay let me show you what what's going on here
            • 07:30 - 08:00 I put in way over here it's not even on the map paddled now I'm only here and my day end is supposed to be here so I can either go up this is the way that the wind is coming from remember coming from this way so I would have to paddle into a headwind a 295 so a 3K Portage and then down or paddle East
            • 08:00 - 08:30 into here and then the wind should slow down I'm not going against the wind this way it's kind of it's not going with me but I'm not paddling against headwind it's kind of pushing me South anyways I'll get into here this will be protected and then from here on out into bigger it shouldn't be bad maybe a little bad here but it's narrower here and then I have to Portage up North to 3 Mile instead there's much more portaging this way much more but I get to break that the paddle up with portaging and and I don't have to paddle North whereas
            • 08:30 - 09:00 here whereas here I do so I think that's what we've decided it' be nice if the wind just calmed down or went the way that I expected it to go

            • 14:00 - 14:30 beautiful spot all right on to the biggest Portage yet there's so many bugs so many bugs I got to go
            • 14:30 - 15:00 getting a little dark in the bush a little dark in the bush oh it's so buggy bro bro
            • 15:00 - 15:30 I need to set up camp this is getting bad boy I'm in my tent now oh that hair is crazy and there's uh just a million bugs somehow got in like just so many bugs got in and I literally opened the door for a second so this is going to be a lot of fun they're all black flies I have to get rid of them I can't sleep with them in here oh man look at them all oh there's so many how did that
            • 15:30 - 16:00 happen oh boy there's so many bugs in here I just don't let them na on me while I'm sleeping I can't believe how many got in I I was very quick um I also added up what I did today I started at 1:00 p.m. and I ended at 9 I did 28.2 km and I did not get to 3 Mile I got to Upper Kawa which is one Portage away
            • 16:00 - 16:30 from Three Mile my destination Lake so it just got too dark I couldn't go any farther uh had to get some reprieve from the bugs as well so here we are the only person on this Lake and tomorrow I'll get up and do that uh the big Portage into co uh 3 Mile and continue on so 8 hours today and I did almost 30
            • 16:30 - 17:00 clicks so tomorrow I should be able to do like I'll shoot for 60 see what I can do but there's a 5 km Portage somewhere on this trip too man I got just peppered by bugs look so bad all right good night folks
            • 17:00 - 17:30 see you in the morning oh oh no oh no what is happening to my face man this doesn't feel or look good at all it's 9:00 I could smell smoke

            • 18:00 - 18:30 wait damn so I camped here on upper CWA and I can and I have to get this way so I can either go up three mile and do these couple portages into uh aab Maple and then down and over or I'm here
            • 18:30 - 19:00 and I could just go down this way so there's a North Wind again I can see it and I don't want to paddle against it my elbows are kind of shot I'd like to have a a relaxing day or not paddling into the wind day so the choices would be obvious except for this low water levels in Alder can be a major problem between 1 mile and the 245 M Portage on Maple Creek in fact it hasn't been maintained in the last few years if it hasn't been maintained the last few years it may be impassible so one mile is here and the 240 is here 245 is there
            • 19:00 - 19:30 so that's a good stretch like five clicks or so and there's a bunch of black portages along the way but it says as of 2013 this Portage was covered in down trees so this was written over 10 years ago and I'm going to cross my fingers and hope that somebody has come along and cleaned up the Alders and I know the water level is not too low right now so I'm going to give it a shot it's more portaging but it's a more direct rope and there's not paddling into the wind so I like an adventure I
            • 19:30 - 20:00 like going off the beaten path hopefully this is that but hopefully I don't bite off more than I can chew looking better right getting back into where they said it might be impassible with low water and Alders and uh coming to the end of like my third Portage I've done well over 3,000 km 3,000 meters of Portage today 3 kilometers and I'm coming to the end of this one I can see what they're talking
            • 20:00 - 20:30 about it looks pretty dry guys I'm sure I'll be able to skirt through in this little boat but any later on in the year probably not
            • 20:30 - 21:00 it's going to be buggy for a bit for a bit until I get back out into the big water oh man I hope I can get through here
            • 21:00 - 21:30 oh man this does not get used this does not get used I've been looking for bootprints and any signs of people ever since I turned off that Main Road into these black portages there's only been sign of moose no people
            • 21:30 - 22:00 oh man this is going to be fun why did I do this why did I do this okay one stretch done that wasn't all terrible not too bad not too buggy either now we hike to the other part of the creek
            • 22:00 - 22:30 okay not so bad just a down tree we can deal with that [Music]
            • 22:30 - 23:00 oh this spot looks a lot more alery lot more Alders here than in the previous section I'm going to get rained down
            • 23:00 - 23:30 with spiders on and spider webs and all sorts of fun stuff here lots of flying them BS you can see where people have come and trimmed them down so at least somebody's been here in the last 10 years so I think I'm through well I know I'm through the majority of it a couple more smaller portages to go one of them says that it was covered with down trees
            • 23:30 - 24:00 um as of 2013 but for the most part I'm getting what I wanted like uh there's no wind in here which my elbows are jacked from yesterday battling the wind and yeah I'm getting to where I need to be without battling that wind there's more portaging in out the boat more some beaver dams but this is cool I'm glad I took this way and uh yeah I'm seeing more and more of the part work as we go
            • 24:00 - 24:30 on that trip I did with Tosh earlier into the gyppos I never seen any of those part before for the most part oh there's my Portage sweet okay this is a shorter One 360 360 and then I believe I'm almost out so to do that little one and see about the down trees but feeling o okay my glands are all
            • 24:30 - 25:00 together like they they're so swollen that the ones on my neck and behind my ear and like in between are all kind of just one big one so that's kind of weird but trying to keep the bug net on when I need to and covered up and stuff so been wiped my forehead with water too all right it's getting to be uh getting to be 1 1:00 so 24 hours from where I started
            • 25:00 - 25:30 yesterday that's it oh oh boy
            • 25:30 - 26:00 die that's rough man that's so rough ah oh there's so many oh boyo oh my gosh I don't like that stuff freaking mus go B holy smokes that
            • 26:00 - 26:30 was rough okay well each time I get P Portage I'm like a it's not so bad and I get into the next one and then the creek looks like that so this would definitely be impassible in the middle of the summer in low water we had high water this year so and so only
            • 26:30 - 27:00 [Applause] June this is reminiscent of birchcliff Creek Kyle okay we're going to do it big bull moose go on yeah big bull Mose cool old rck on him hey
            • 27:00 - 27:30 boy chill for a second I knew I was going to come across one in here so that's three moose all together since yesterday the mom the calf and Big Daddy over here I can still hear him crashing he's big velvety antlers it look like
            • 27:30 - 28:00 okay Birch Cliff 2 finding the Everglades right now are these mangroves holy smokes guys trying to eat a granola bar you know not even paddling I'm just pulling my way through on the olders she's shallow she's shallow with the fishy she's [Applause] shallow Oh look there it is all right I think we're out of the ish
            • 28:00 - 28:30 out of the ish now oh back to Maple [Music] Creek never tried these ones the peanut ones before Nature Valley tastes like peanut butter surprise surprise lunch of Champions told you I was going to get spiders on
            • 28:30 - 29:00 me oh that breeze feels nice for now wait till I get into the big lakes this is a rough trip already
            • 29:00 - 29:30 that really wasn't too bad that was the one that was supposed to be a bunch of down trees there's only a couple okay we done we done that section okay we're not done that section yet most wa more spiders
