Overview
Managing your chest space in Terraria doesn't have to be a chaotic task! Arnie guides you through setting up a well-organized system that starts with setting aside your hard-earned coins in a trusty piggy bank bought from the merchant. His favorite strategy involves creating rows of chests, each dedicated to a specific type of item, ensuring that everything is in its place and easy to find.
In his step-by-step guide, Arnie emphasizes sorting the most crucial categories first: from ores and materials to unique class-specific items. He shares his tips for a middle-tier organization, which covers wiring, accessories, tools, and specialized objects like boss summons. With these strategies, you'll have every essential within arm's reach, keeping your adventures smooth and inventory clutter-free.
Arnie also suggests not forgetting those often pesky, less-used categories. With dedicated chest space for statues, vanity items, extra weapons, mounts, and dyes, every item finds a home. He wraps up with a reminder about creating a specialized potion area, keeping your concoctions, ingredients, and related gear neatly sorted—ensuring your inventory supports your journey, not hinders it.
Chapters
00:00 - 00:30: Introduction and Importance of Organization The introduction emphasizes the importance and efficiency of organizing chests in gaming, particularly in hard mode stages. The narrator proposes an easy method for organization, such as using a piggy bank for money storage obtained from a merchant, and structuring chests in stacked rows categorized by item types like ores, materials, and class-specific items.
00:30 - 01:00: First Row Categories This chapter discusses the organization of items in 'First Row Categories.' It explains which items should go into specific types of chests in a game setting. For example, 'bars and ores materials chests' should contain items described as wood material but exclude tools and weapons. 'Blockchain' should include all block types. The 'Furniture' category is for any placeable furniture items like chairs and tables. Finally, the 'class-specific chest' is based on the player's class, such as 'Ranger,' where it should include arrows, bullets, and class-relevant accessories.
01:00 - 01:30: Second Row Categories This chapter focuses on categorizing important items in the "Second Row" which includes wiring, accessories, banners, tools, and boss summons.
01:30 - 02:00: Last Row Categories The chapter focuses on organizing items into different categories, particularly in the last row of storage. It includes invasion summoning items like the solar tablet or pirate map which are not frequently accessed, and should therefore be categorized in the last row. Other items recommended for the last row include categories not often accessed such as statues, vanity items, weapons, mounts, dyes, and miscellaneous items. The text advises not to include useful statues like heart statues in the decorative statue category, which mostly consists of items like angel statues. Vanity items and weapons are straightforward categories, with the suggestion to sell surplus weapons for money and store only the ones intended for keeping. The chapter suggests readiness to add more storage as vanity items accumulate.
02:00 - 02:30: Potion Station and Labeling Tips This chapter provides tips on organizing a potion station and effectively labeling storage chests in a game. The author suggests creating a dedicated area for potion ingredients such as plants and fish, ideally placed near a garden or fishing pool for convenience. The preference for barrels over chests is mentioned due to aesthetic reasons. Additionally, labeling the storage with numbers is recommended to manage materials efficiently, especially for chests with high turnover, like the materials chest. This helps in maintaining a tidy and accessible inventory setup.
02:30 - 03:00: Subdivisions and Conclusion The chapter discusses organizing materials into different categories for better inventory management. It suggests naming chests sequentially, such as 'mats 1' and 'mats 2', to accommodate more space as needed. The speaker also recommends creating subdivisions for more detailed organization, offering suggestions like dividing items into battle versus utility potions, building versus non-building blocks, ores versus bars, plants versus seeds, melee versus ranged versus mage versus summoner items and weapons, and distinguishing equipment (like bombs and torches) from tools (like pickaxes and axes). The emphasis is on crafting more efficient and navigable storage systems in a gaming context.
The Only Chest Organization Guide You'll EVER Need in Terraria Transcription
00:00 - 00:30 hey guys today we'll be talking about how to quickly and efficiently organize your chests many people find this task tedious but it's easier than you think and it's crucial especially later game once you enter hard mode in this video I'm going to go over the simplest and quickest way to organize let's get into it firstly money should be stored in a piggy bank which can be bought from the merchant for cheap this is very simple now in terms of structure I prefer rows of chests stacked on top of each other with rows of platforms start with the most important categories such as auras materials blocks Furnitures and a class specific chest in the orange chest you're going to want
00:30 - 01:00 bars and ores materials chests should be any item that has the wood material in the description when you hover over it with the exception of tools weapons and a few others blockchain should have all the blocks in it pretty straightforward Furniture should have almost any furniture that you can place down such as chairs tables extra Health forges and more lastly for the first row the class specific chest should have all important items pertaining to the class you were playing for example if you were playing Ranger then some items that should be in this chest are arrows bullets informed extra Ranger accessories and anything else you deem appropriate next let's do
01:00 - 01:30 the second most important categories here I would include wiring accessories banners tools and boss summons wiring can include anything related to wires such as wrenches traps and even certain useful statues like the heart mana and slime statue if you'd like accessories is pretty straightforward anything that you can equip in an accessory slot should go here the banish chest should be filled with mob banners they give bonuses not regular banners that are just for decoration the tools chest is where I usually put things like any bombs torches rope pickaxes axes and more lastly the boss on this chest is pretty straightforward any boss selling
01:30 - 02:00 items that Invasion summoning items like solar tablet or pirate map should be included in here for the last row I would include categories that you don't have to access often such as statues vanity weapons mounts dies and miscellaneous the statue chest doesn't have to include statues that are actually useful like the heart statues most of just decorative statues like the angel statue vanity is pretty straightforward this chest will likely fill up fast so you're ready to make more weapons is also straightforward I usually like to sell most of my weapons for money but any extra ones I want to keep I put there Mountain dies is pretty straightforward
02:00 - 02:30 as well some super specific items may not fit into any category so these ones are for the miscellaneous chest for potions I like to make a separate station where I put potion ingredients like plants and fish seeds and the potions themselves I usually keep this station near the garden and fishing pool if I have one so that it's just a nice compact fishing planting and potion area I also prefer using barrels because it fits with the aesthetic but you can obviously use chess when organizing the chest it's also good to put a number on each label for example the materials chest is one that usually gets filled up quickly since there are so many materials in the game because of this
02:30 - 03:00 I'll name the first materials chest mats one and then when I need more space I'll name the next materials chest mats 2. on one last note in this video I went over a very easy and vague way to organize however you can always subdivide into even smaller groups here are some possible subdivisions you may want to consider battle potions versus utility potions building blocks versus non-building blocks ores versus bars plants versus seeds melee vs Ranger versus Mage for Summoner items and weapons equipment like bombs and torches versus tools like pickaxes and axes crafting
03:00 - 03:30 stations versus regular furniture and that's it if you haven't already make sure you guys follow my Instagram down below if I missed any category let me know in the comments I hope you guys found this useful remember to like and sub and I'll see you guys in the next one
