Walking in the Light

Walking in the Light | Randy Skeete

Estimated read time: 1:20

    Summary

Randy Skeete’s sermon centers on the contrast between light and darkness, righteousness and sin, and what it means to walk in God’s light. Using Genesis 1 and passages from Corinthians, Romans, Psalms, Timothy, Acts, and Ephesians, he argues that God consistently identifies light, righteousness, Christ, and obedience as good, while darkness, unrighteousness, sin, idols, and unbelief belong to the opposite side. The message emphasizes that sin is not harmless; it opposes God’s work, destroys life, and must be actively resisted by the power of Christ. Skeete repeatedly calls listeners to think, reason from Scripture, and examine whether there is any deliberate sin in their lives. He concludes by urging confession, surrender, and reliance on Christ’s indwelling life as the believer’s only qualification for salvation and victory.

      Overview

The sermon opens with Scripture about God’s protection and quickly moves into a strong spiritual contrast: light versus darkness. Randy Skeete builds his message from Genesis 1, showing that God created light, called it good, and separated it from darkness. From there, he connects the theme to 2 Corinthians 6, where he lays out five pairs of opposites—believers and unbelievers, righteousness and unrighteousness, light and darkness, Christ and Belial, and God’s temple and idols. His main point is that God always distinguishes between what is good and what is destructive.

From those contrasts, Skeete argues that righteousness is not just an abstract idea but is embodied in Christ and reflected in God’s law. He uses Romans, Psalms, Timothy, and Acts to show that the law is righteous, God’s judgment is righteous, and the crown given to the faithful is a crown of righteousness. In his view, sin is the exact opposite of righteousness and works to undo God’s creation, reverse life, and lead to death. That makes sin serious, not casual, and believers are called to reject it completely.

The sermon then becomes deeply practical and devotional. Skeete urges the audience to think honestly about any deliberate sin in their lives and to ask God for forgiveness and power to change. He reminds listeners that Christ’s sinless life is the believer’s qualification for heaven, and that Jesus must live in us for victory to be possible. The message closes with prayer, a call to repentance, and a final appeal to walk in the light, live in righteousness, and depend fully on Christ’s indwelling presence.

            Chapters

            • 00:00 - 05:00: Opening Welcome and Prayer for the Message The chapter opens with Scripture from Psalm 121 and a greeting that thanks God for preserving everyone through the day. The speaker emphasizes spiritual protection, describing dangers from the devil and expressing gratitude for divine help and angelic guarding.
            • 05:00 - 10:00: Genesis: Light, Darkness, and God’s Goodness The speaker prays for God’s blessing on the listeners, leaders, the sick, children, and all represented nations, then introduces the subject of “walking in the light” by reading Genesis 1:1–3. He emphasizes that God created the world, that darkness was present, and that God specifically commanded, “Let there be light,” showing that light—not darkness—is what God calls good.
            • 10:00 - 17:30: Pairs in Scripture: Believers, Righteousness, and the Light The speaker identifies the paired contrasts in 2 Corinthians 6:14–16, explaining that there are multiple spiritual opposites: believers vs. unbelievers, righteousness vs. unrighteousness, light vs. darkness, Christ vs. Belial (Satan), and the temple of God vs. idols. The audience is guided to match each negative category with the first group of contrasts, emphasizing that believers align with righteousness, light, Christ, and God’s temple, while unbelievers align with unrighteousness, darkness, Satan, and idols.
            • 17:30 - 25:00: The Law, Righteousness, and Sin Defined The speaker reads Romans 8:1–4 to contrast flesh and Spirit with earlier biblical pairs such as unrighteousness/righteousness, darkness/light, unbelievers/believers, and idols/God’s temple. He explains that walking after the Spirit means walking in righteousness, light, and Christ rather than in fleshly opposition to God.
            • 25:00 - 32:30: Christ as Our Righteousness and the Danger of Sin The speaker explains that God cannot place a crown of righteousness on someone who is practicing sin, because heaven’s standard is absolute righteousness. Christ within is presented as the believer’s qualification for heaven and the means by which a person can stand before God’s law without condemnation.
            • 32:30 - 37:30: Walking in Love, Humility, and Christ’s Life in Us The speaker urges believers to walk in love, following God’s example in Christ, and warns strongly against allowing sin to become a pattern in life. Using Ephesians 5, he emphasizes that even one deliberate sin sets a person on a dangerous path, so anything known to be wrong should be stopped immediately rather than repeated.
            • 37:30 - 42:30: Closing Appeal, Testimony, and Benediction The speaker closes in prayer, thanking God for light, righteousness, Christ, the temple, and truth, while asking for forgiveness for deliberate sin and a deeper hatred of sin and love for righteousness. He urges listeners to reflect on where they may be walking in sin, surrender those areas to Christ’s cleansing blood, and return safely to hear God’s word again.

            • Segment 1: 00:00 - 02:30 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved. He that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper. The Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil. He shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth and even forevermore. God is good and all the time Good evening, everyone. How was your day? I'm happy to see you. You look well. We thank God for preserving us during the day. Can you say amen for God? If it weren't for the angels that God sends, we would be dead. Angels protect us from dangers of which we are not even aware. A thousand different dangers every day because the devil is always trying to kill us. Jesus said, "The thief cometh not but for the steal, to kill, and to destroy." Satan's plan for your life is to take it. He may take it using drugs. He may take it using alcohol. He may take it using sexual immorality. His ultimate aim is to kill you. Understand that very clearly. He has attractive ways to do it, but the outcome is the same, death. And so we thank God for preserving our lives today. Say amen for God again. Who's with us tonight? You are not a Seventh-day Adventist, may I see your hand? You are not a Seventh-day Adventist, may

Let's now pray. Father in heaven, I come to you seeking help as I attempt to do a work for which I am not naturally qualified. • Segment 4: 02:30 - 05:00 I ask in the name of Jesus Christ and for your own sake, Father, first cleanse me from all that is unlike you. Apply the blood of Christ to me and wash away all that you don't like. Sin. Grant to me, Father, a measure of your spirit. Go with me to Genesis chapter 1. >> [clears throat] >> We'll read from verse 1. It's exactly 10 minutes to 8. Genesis 1 we'll read from verse 1. >> [clears throat] >> Our subject, walking in the light. What's our subject? What was our subject yesterday morning? Where's your faith? And where is your faith, by the way? You took too long to answer me. Where is your faith? In Jesus, yes. What was our subject yesterday afternoon? The word of God. And tonight, what is it? Walking in the light. Genesis 1, reading from verse 1. In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form and void. And darkness was upon the face of the deep. Let me stress that again. Darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Verse 3.
            • Segment 6: 05:00 - 07:30 And God said, what? Let there be light. As far as the Bible informs us, he never said, let there be darkness. He said, let there be light. And there was light. And God saw the light that it was good. Did God say the darkness was good? No. He only commented on the light. We have darkness and light in Genesis 1, 2, 3, and 4. God only comments on the light. He declares the light to be good. And
            • Segment 7: 07:30 - 10:00 God saw that it was good. Then what did God do? And God divided the light from the darkness. If the light was good, even without any more information, we can conclude the darkness is what? Bad. Let me say it again. The light was described by God as good. We may conclude the darkness was bad. And God God does not separate good from good. Did I say that clearly? If the darkness were good and the light were good, why separate good from good? God separates good from bad. He separates sin from righteousness. God divided the light from the darkness. Now, keep this in mind. God divided the light from the darkness and go with me now to 2 Corinthians chapter 6. We'll read from verse 14. Our subject, walking in the light. 2 Corinthians, I hope that's what I said. Chapter 6, reading from verse 14. It is a passage with which we're all familiar. When you've gotten, say amen, so I'll know to move on. Are you there? Be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers. Let me say that again. For those of us who are liberal in our thinking, be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers. Keep reading. For what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness? And what part hath Christ with Belial? Or what concord hath what? The temple of God with idols? Or what agreement hath Or what concord hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? We have how many pairs of things? I won't move on until you tell me. We have how many pairs? Look again.
            • Segment 8: 07:30 - 10:00 Don't look at me. Look at the Bible. We have
            • Segment 9: 10:00 - 12:30 How many pairs of things do we have? Verses 14, 15, and 16. We have five pairs. All right. Do you all see five pairs? Yes or no? Who sees six? Oh, you see six. All right. Who sees seven? Who sees only three? Well, let's try to identify how many they are. Let's start again. Be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers. That's the first pair. What are the two parts of that pair? Tell me. Ye and Mhm. Be not unequally yoked with unbelievers. So, we have unbelievers and we have ye. Ye being the people of God. So, that's the first pair. Move on. What do we have next? For what fellowship hath righteousness with un- So, we have the second pair, righteousness and righteousness. Keep reading. And what communion hath light with darkness? Keep reading. Or what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And if begin in verse 16, what does that say? And what agreement have the temple of God with idols? Now, give me those six pairs again. Ye and unbelievers. That's right. Okay, fine. God bless you for being eager, but hold on. Ye and unbelievers. Now keep ye and unbelievers in mind. Look at the next pair. And what communion hath or what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? Now, righteousness then belongs Look at the first pair. What's the first pair? I want all of you to tell me. What's the first pair? Ye and believers. Now, what's the next pair?
            • Segment 10: 10:00 - 12:30 Righteousness and unrighteousness. Now, look at righteousness and unrighteousness, which one belongs to which part of the first pair? Come on, tell me. Even if you're wrong, speak with confidence. Righteousness goes with what? Ye. Unrighteousness goes with un- Yes. Now, let's go to the third pair. What does that say? And what communion hath with Where do we put the light with?
            • Segment 11: 12:30 - 15:00 Ye and Yes. I like this side. What's wrong with you? You're not answering me. All the bright people on this side and all the rich people on that side. Let's go to the next pair. What does it say? And what concord hath Christ with Now Belial I will not Let's call him Satan not Satan. Okay. So we have Christ and Satan. Where do you put Christ now? In what line? Along with whom? Ye. Come on. Righteousness. Let Very good. Very good. I really am impressed. Mhm. You're thinking and I like that. Let's go to verse 16, the first part of verse 16. And what agreement hath the temple of God with? Yes. Where do we put idols? Un- Ah, yes. Unbelievers. Go on. Unrighteousness. Go on. Darkness. Go on. Satan or Belial, go on. Idols. God bless you for thinking. You really, really bless my heart tonight. Now, let's read the whole thing again. Be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers. What does the word yoke mean? Where does that word come from? Yes, it's the thing you use to connect two two two two oxen, you know, at the neck. So, they have to move together. The Bible says, "Don't yoke up with unbelievers." It does not say have no interaction. Don't be yoked. Are you with me? [snorts] Don't be yoked. You got a little thing on your finger? You don't know what I'm talking about. Let's read it without interruption from me. Be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what? Fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness. Pause. Let's look at righteousness and unrighteousness. What
            • Segment 12: 12:30 - 15:00 is unrighteousness? Let the Bible tell you. Go to 1 Corinthians 15. No, no, 1 Corinthians No, Romans 16 Romans 14. Verse 23. Romans 14 verse 23.
            • Segment 13: 15:00 - 17:30 Do you have that? It's 8:00 on the dot, and I'm having a good time with God's people. Do you have Romans 14? What does verse 23 say? Read the last part of Romans 14:23. Whatsoever is not of is Yeah, okay. whatsoever is not of faith is sin. Now, we're looking at what is unrighteousness. There's a text that says all unrighteousness, come on, is sin. All unrighteousness is sin. Which means, go to 1 Corinthians 15. That's why we're sending you in the first place. 1 Corinthians 15. We read verse 34, the first part of that verse. Do you have that? Some are still looking. Do we have it now? Read with me nice and clear. What does that say? "Awake to righteousness and sin not." Wake up to righteousness. Don't sin. In other words, be alive to righteousness and dead to sin. So, we have two opposites. The opposite of righteousness is sin. Go to 1 Peter chapter 2. 1 Peter chapter 2. >> [cough] [clears throat] >> Let's read verse 24 and verse 25 of 1 Peter chapter 2. Our subject, walking in the light. Are you there? Read with me. What does that say? "Who his own self bear our sins where? In his own body on the tree that we being dead to sin should live unto righteousness." So, here we have it very clear. We must be dead to sin in order we might live unto righteousness. There are some people in the church who want
            • Segment 14: 15:00 - 17:30 to live to sin and live to righteousness. >> [snorts] >> It does not work. You must die to one in order to live in the other. We have to die to sin that we may live unto righteousness. The opposite of righteousness
            • Segment 15: 17:30 - 20:00 is sin. Now, what are Romans 8? Romans 8. >> [clears throat] >> Where can we find righteousness? More than one place. But all places are connected. Do you have Romans 8? Let me read from verse one. Let me pray again. Dear God, as I continue speaking to your people, give me simple and direct language, I pray, in Jesus' name. Amen. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit. Pause. We have flesh and we have spirit. Based on all the pairs we found in 2 Corinthians 14 uh 6 14 15 16. You remember those pairs? Ye unbeliever, righteousness and righteousness, light that Okay. Listen now. There's therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit. What items would you take from 2 Corinthians to put with flesh? Unrighteousness, come on. Darkness, mhm. What's that? Belial, uh-huh. Idols. Unbelievers, yes, and ye. Mhm. Very good. Who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit. For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own son >> [clears throat] >> in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin condemned sin in the flesh. Finish verse four. That the righteousness of the law might be what? Where? In us who walk not after the
            • Segment 16: 17:30 - 20:00 flesh, but after the spirit. Let's take out flesh and spirit and think of the pairs. Who walk not after unrighteousness, but after Who walk not after idols, but after God's temple, which is Jesus Christ. Who walk not after darkness, but after yes.
            • Segment 17: 20:00 - 22:30 You can't walk in both. It's either or. That the righteousness of the law Now, if the law has righteousness and the opposite of righteousness is sin how can you describe the law? Okay, listen carefully. Unrighteousness is sin. What does the law have? Righteousness. Therefore, you can describe the law as Listen again. Even if you perspire, I want you to get it. All unrighteousness is sin. The law has no unrighteousness. All it has is righteousness. How then can you describe the law? Don't give me righteous, even though you're right. Give me give >> The law is purely righteous. Which means it has no what? No sin. There is no sin in the law. So, you can describe the law as a sinless. Mhm. Sinless. So, when God writes the law on our hearts, mhm? When he writes the law on our hearts, what does he write? Give me some suggestions. What does he write? What does he write? When he writes the law, what does he write? Think of the pairs in 2 Corinthians 6. What does he write? He writes righteousness. What does he write? He writes the light. What does he write? Christ. What does he write? The temple of God. Yes, that's what God writes when he writes the law. Because the law has no sin. Because we just read in Romans 8:4, the law has righteousness. Go to Psalm 119. Psalm 119.
            • Segment 18: 20:00 - 22:30 Our subject, walking in the light. I hope you don't mind that I press you to think and think.
            • Segment 19: 22:30 - 25:00 It'll make you young. Strengthen your brain. It really will. Psalm 119. We read verse 172. Excuse me. Psalm 119, verse 172. Are you there? Read with me. My tongue shall speak of thy word for all thy commandments are righteousness. If all the commandments are righteousness, there is no sin in the law. In other words, a man or a woman who lives according to the law by the power of Jesus Christ is living a sinless life. Now, not sinless the way God is sinless. No human being can be sinless the way God is sinless. This God never sinned, Christ never sinned. We have sinned at least once in the past. Are you with me? So, we always have that. We have sinned at least once in the past. But having come to Christ, given our lives to him, and he writes that law on our hearts, and we walk according to that law by the power of the indwelling Christ, we are living a sinless life in the sense of we are living a victorious life. My tongue shall speak of thy word, for all thy commandments are righteousness. Having said that, if sin is the opposite of righteousness, let's take a look at righteousness more closely and see how dangerous sin is. Go to 2 Timothy chapter 4. When you get this, perhaps you and I will develop a greater hatred for sin. 2 Timothy chapter 4, we read from verse 7. Our subject, walking in the light. And that light is the light of the love, the light of the law, the light of the life of Christ. The light of the righteousness of Jesus Christ. What book did I say? 2 Timothy. What chapter? Read from what verse?
            • Segment 20: 22:30 - 25:00 Read with me. What does that What does that say? I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course, I have. Kept the faith. Henceforth, there's laid up
            • Segment 21: 25:00 - 27:30 for me what? A crown of Stop. A crown of what? Can God put a crown of righteousness on someone who's practicing sin? No. We have to conquer by Jesus Christ's power. God cannot put a crown of righteousness on the head of someone practicing sin. Henceforth, there's laid up for me a crown of righteousness. Keep reading. Which the Lord, come on. Uh the righteous judge shall give me when? At that day. We have a righteous judge. And he puts a righteous crown on the heads of those who allowed the righteousness of the Lord to be fulfilled in them through the indwelling power of Jesus Christ. Go to Acts 19. No, Acts 17, sorry. Acts 17. We read verse 31. Acts 17, verse 31. It's 10 minutes after 8. >> [clears throat] >> Do you have that? Let me pray again. Father, please speak through me clearly, dear God, I pray in Jesus' name. Amen. What does that say? Because he has appointed a day in the which he will do what? Judge the world how? In righteousness. Let's take out the word righteousness. Let's put another word in there. He shall judge the world in All right, light, yes. He shall judge the world in in sinlessness. In other words, his standard is a sinless standard. The standard of God is a sinless standard. And the only one who ever reached that standard, give me his name. Jesus Christ. That's why we need Christ within. Because Christ within becomes our
            • Segment 22: 25:00 - 27:30 qualification for heaven. Come on, are you listening? Jesus within is our qualification for heaven. Jesus within allows us to stand in front of the law without condemnation.
            • Segment 23: 27:30 - 30:00 He shall judge the world in righteousness by that man. Jesus Christ. Now, let's look at sin in the next 16 minutes. The purpose of sin is to reverse everything righteousness does. >> [clears throat] >> The purpose of sin is to reverse whatever righteousness does. But righteousness isn't simply a quality of life. In a very real way, righteousness is a person. The Bible says, the Lord our righteousness. Jesus is our righteousness. He is our holiness. He is our redemption. He is our sanctification. He is all of that to us. So, righteousness ultimately is a person. Life is a person. Light is a person. Love is a person. Salvation is a person. Give me his name. Jesus Christ. Sin >> [clears throat] >> has one mission. Undo whatever God does. Which means destroy. God created give life to plants, birds, fish, land animals, people. What's [clears throat] the wages of sin? Death. Death means the end of life, whether it's the life of a tree, the life of a bird, the life of a fish, the life of a horse, the life of a human being. Death, which is the punishment for sin, is the end of life. Doesn't happen immediately, it happens eventually. Now, if we are God's children, we must do [clears throat] everything we can not to assist the devil in undoing the work of God. And what's the one way we can do that?
            • Segment 24: 27:30 - 30:00 What's the one way we can undo God's work? Life of sin. You can say that differently, a life of cooperation with the enemy of God. And who is the enemy of God? Satan. Now, let me put it bluntly. He or she who practices sin is an agent of Satan. Even though that person comes to church
            • Segment 25: 30:00 - 32:30 every Sabbath. Let me ask you this. When Eve sinned, and she went to Adam, did she go to Adam as God's agent or Satan's agent? Satan's agent. When Judas betrayed Christ, whose agent was he? Satan Jesus said, "Have I not chosen you 12? One of you is a devil." >> [clears throat] >> My brothers and sisters, when you understand righteousness and all that it does, we cannot take an easy view of sin. Sin is an attempt to destroy everything God has done. So, God told Adam Genesis 2:16-17, And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the gardens thou mayest freely eat. But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it. For in the day thou eatest thereof, thou shalt surely die. The end of everything. God creates, sin uncreates. God goes north, sin goes where? South. God goes up, sin goes where? Down. Sin always takes you and me in a direction opposite to God. And the man or the woman moving away from God is moving away from life. What's our subject? Walking in the light. Let's take out the word light. Walking in the In what? Righteous at walking in or light or righteousness walking with Christ, not Belial. Walking in the temple, not with idols. Walking in right in obedience. My favorite word. What's our subject? Let me ask you this question now at a 16 [snorts] minutes after 8:00. >> [clears throat] >> How many sins did Adam commit before God
            • Segment 26: 30:00 - 32:30 put him out of the garden? One.
            • Segment 27: 32:30 - 35:00 Go to Ephesians 5. Ephesians 5 I must tell you, as I look at your faces, I get the impression that you're really listening. And that strengthens me and encourages me. It really does. I don't think you're sleeping with your eyes open. I think you're listening. What book did I say? Ephesians, reading to what chapter? Reading from verse 1. Be therefore followers of God as their children, and walk in love as Christ also hath loved us and have given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor. Now, listen to verse 3 carefully, but fornication and all uncleanness uh covetousness, let it not be once named among you as become of saints. Don't do it once. Yes, we know there's something called forgiveness. But anything you do once, you set yourself up what? To do it again. It's a law psychology. Let me say it again. Anything you do once, you set up your mind to do it again. Whether it's good or bad. So, if you confess once, you set up your mind to confess again. You commit a sin. You prep your mind to do it again. You don't have to, but the likelihood exists. And so, Paul says, "Let it not be once named among you as become of saints." >> [clears throat] >> In other words, don't walk in darkness. Walk in the light. Here's my question now or my other question. Is there something you're doing that is a sin? You know it. You continue to do it. I'm not saying you slip now and then.
            • Segment 28: 32:30 - 35:00 You are actively violating God's standard in some area of your life. If that's the case, in the presence of a holy God, stop. Or God will stop you. And when God stops you, it's always painful.
            • Segment 29: 35:00 - 37:30 And so the Bible tells us, "Humble yourself." James 4:7. 1 Peter 5, I think it's verse 6. Humble yourself. Ellen White said, "Never ask God to humble you, because if you do, and he does it, you will not like the way he does it." And so I say to you again as my brothers and sisters in Christ, we read in Ephesians, "Let it not be once named among you, not once." Adam made one mistake, God threw him out. Of course, he sent Christ to save him, but he threw him out. And so I say to you, if there is one thing you're doing that is wrong, tonight is a good time to say, "Father, forgive me. I'm sorry. Give me that power to walk how? In the righteousness or in the light with Christ in the temple. How many of you will say, "Father, help me by the power of Christ to walk in the light." Can I see your hand? Ah, stand up with me. Stand up with me. Let me let you go to think of what you heard. Let me say differently, one sin is too many. Now, you didn't hear what I said. It's my fault. What did I say? Okay, you heard me. My friends in [clears throat] the basement, you heard me. One sin is to make It is correct to say Jesus had to come and die because of one sin. In that one sin, Adam did not walk in the light. The second Adam came and walked in the light. That's why he can function as a savior. He walked in the light. Never sinned once. His sinless life is our qualification.
            • Segment 30: 35:00 - 37:30 But we must receive that life. And so Paul tells us, "I am crucified with Christ. Nevertheless, I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth in me." You see, why was Jesus successful? Because the Father lived in him. That's what he said. The Father lived in Jesus, and Jesus was victorious. Jesus must live in us. We don't have to understand how it works. We just accept it. Heads bowed, eyes closed.
            • Segment 31: 37:30 - 40:00 Our Father in heaven, thank you for light, for righteousness, for Christ, for the temple. Thank you, Lord, for the positive side of life that flows from you. Dear God, we want to walk in the light. We want to walk in righteousness. We want to walk with Christ. We want to walk as believers, and we want to walk in the temple of truth. In the name of Jesus Christ, dear God, forgive us where we have offended you, and we have done it deliberately. Forgive us for trying your patience. Now, Father, as we bow in your presence, put into our hearts, dear God, hatred for sin and love for righteousness and the light. That we may willingly give up our lives in order not to offend you, the way Daniel was willing, and the three Hebrew boys were willing, and the martyrs of the past were willing. And Jesus himself actually did. Dear God, bless every man, woman, boy, and girl who heard your word. And the message I preached to them I've already preached to myself. As we leave tonight, Father, let us leave reflecting on what we've heard. What where in my life am I walking in sin deliberately? And allow you, as we surrender, to apply the blood of Christ to that area and produce cleansing. Father, thank you for being so patient and long-suffering. Thank you for truth and the freedom it brings. Now take us home safely, I pray. Bring
            • Segment 32: 37:30 - 40:00 us back tomorrow to hear your word again. We pray in Jesus' name. Let God's people say, "Amen and amen." Don't move. What will you take from the message? It's 8:25. I have 5 minutes. What will you take? Yes. The righteousness of the law has no righteousness has no sin and sin has no righteousness. Mhm. Somebody else, raise your hand. Yes. We must do all in our power not to sin
            • Segment 33: 40:00 - 42:30 at all by the power of Christ. It's a learning experience, understand me clearly, because we're born in this nature, but this must be our desire to come to the place where we prefer to die than to sin. And I'm not joking. Yes, Pastor. One sin can destroy your life if it's unconfessed. One sin, however small. You know what a termite is? You know what a termite is? If you saw one termite at the foundation of your house, would you walk away and say, "Oh, that's just one termite." No, no, you'd call whoever you have to call to kill that one termite. Because one termite will raise a family, are you with me? And your house will eventually come down. Someone else, what will you take? Yes. Practicing? Yeah, no, he cannot. God cannot put on a crown of righteousness on someone practicing unrighteousness. Thank you, sister. Somebody else, yes, my brother. All unrighteousness is sin, and sin is what? It is this an attempt to undo everything God has done and destroy it. The ultimate purpose of sin, actually, is the death of God. Satan tried it and failed. Let me tell you again, the ultimate aim of sin is the death of God. We saw it in those who said, "Kill him." "Crucify him." Not hurt him, put him in prison, kill him. When you hold on to sin, you become a potential murderer of God. Yes, my brother. 172? Mhm. Unrighteousness? Yes, they are. And verse 152, 151, "Thou art near, oh Lord, and all thy commandments are truth." Truth and righteousness like this. Thank you, my brother. God bless you. One
            • Segment 34: 40:00 - 42:30 more. What will Yes. The standard of God is a sinless life, and that life is Christ. When we take him in, that life becomes our qualification. Now may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us now and forevermore. Let God's people say amen and amen. Drive safely, keep the speed limit and come back tomorrow.
