From the main temple, if you head towards Car Street, you'll come across Indra Lingam amidst various shops. Although it might be a bit challenging to locate, locals can easily guide you there since it's quite well-known.
• 04:00 - 04:30 This Lingam was installed by Indra Deva. Initially, Lord Shiva manifested here in the form of Arunagiri. Subsequently, various divine deities manifested around the Giri or created new Lingas and sacred ponds with their divine powers. That's why visiting these Lingas, sacred ponds, and other locations can bring remarkable benefits.
• 04:30 - 05:00 The overseeing deities of the Indra Lingam are Sukra (Venus) and Surya (Sun). Therefore, people facing career challenges can find success in their profession and also enjoy a longer life if they worship this Lingam. So, make sure to visit the Indra Lingam, which is the second point. Before you reach the third point, which is the Agni Lingam, let's take note of an important point. If you walk about 200 meters along the road next to the Indra Lingam, you'll come across Indra Pushkarini (a sacred pond).
• 05:00 - 05:30 Just opposite the Indra Pushkarini, you'll find the Arunagiri Nathar temple. As I mentioned earlier, visiting three specific temples within Arunachalam on the same day can yield incredible results. This Arunagiri Nathar temple is one of those three. However, don't visit them during the Giri Pradakshin since this temple is slightly off the Giri Pradakshin path. So, plan to visit these three temples later. Now, let's proceed to the Agni Lingam, which is the third spot on the map. There are eight Lingas around Arunagiri, known as Ashta Lingas, established by the guardians of the eight directions (Ashta Dikpalakas).
• 05:30 - 06:00 Among these eight Lingas, seven are located on the left side of the Giri Pradakshin path. However, the Agni Lingam is on the right side, which is a bit unusual. You'll notice an arch leading to a road that takes you to the Agni Lingam. The presiding deity of this Kshetra is the Moon. Worshiping this Lingam can provide protection during dangerous situations by providing guidance. On the road, you'll also come across a large pond called Agni Pushkarini, where taking a bath is highly recommended.
• 06:00 - 06:30 Close to each of the Ashta Lingams, you'll find a sacred pond. So, at least sprinkle some water from this pond on your head. Around half a kilometer away from the Agni Lingam, you'll come across the Pandava Teertham. This is a truly remarkable place where the Pandavas installed a Lingam along with a sacred pond. Bathing in this Teertham provides incredible energy.
• 06:30 - 07:00 Ramana Maharshi used to swim here in the past. It's a highly potent location, but make sure to visit it with a group of people. However, avoid visiting during the Giri Pradakshin, go there at a later time. Moving on to the fourth point on our Giri Pradakshin path, we'll find the Seshadri Swami Ashram on our right. Remarkable individuals like Ramana Maharshi and Seshadri Swami have intensified the spiritual power of significant places in Arunachalam.
• 07:00 - 07:30 This Ashram is one such place that you must visit. Seshadri Swami took birth in Kamakshi Goddess form in Kanchipuram. He came to Tiruvannamalai when he was just 20 years old and spent his entire life there. He embodied the form of an Avadhuta, a type of enlightened being. Identifying Avadhutas is challenging, so people who were unfamiliar with this often perceived him as a madman. Avadhutas intentionally appear unconventional and often behave in ways that society may mistake as madness.
• 07:30 - 08:00 Seshadri Swami's divine activities were extraordinary, and here's an example. Once, a marriage was taking place in the area. The bride's family revered Seshadri Swami, but the groom's family considered him to be mad. The bride's family invited him to bless the bride during the wedding. He arrived at the wedding venue while the guests were seated for their meals. Approaching the couple, he scolded them, attracting curious looks from the guests.
• 08:00 - 08:30 Suddenly, he burst into laughter and proceeded to the kitchen. There, a large container of sambar (a South Indian dish) had been prepared. Seshadri Swami tipped over the container, causing the sambar to spill onto the floor. He left the kitchen laughing loudly. The groom's family interpreted his actions as those of a madman and criticized the bride's family for inviting him.
• 08:30 - 09:00 Due to their reverence for him, the bride's family paid their respects, thinking that there was a purpose behind his behavior. As they set out to prepare the sambar again, they discovered a large Indian cobra cooked within the spilled sambar making it venomous. Consuming it could have led to many fatalities. Such are the actions of great souls. This incident illustrates his exceptional nature. I'll share more about Seshadri Swami's life in a separate video. Ramana Maharshi took it upon himself to build Seshadri Swami's Samadhi here. So make sure not to miss it. At the back of Seshadri Swami Ashram, you'll also find the Samadhi of Jatha Swami.

People who often wrestle with worries about their future can find solace by gazing upon Arunagiri from this vantage point, as described in the Puranas.
• 09:30 - 10:00 A brief walk of about 20 feet from the Seshadri Swami Ashram will lead you to the Dakshina Murthy temple on your right. Although it appears new, this temple holds ancient and immense power, having existed for more than 1500 years. Swami's idol is beautifully adorned with decorations within this temple. Be sure to offer your Namaskar to Dakshina Murthy, for he embodies the form of Arunagiri Yogi on the Arunachalam Hill.
• 10:00 - 10:30 Since he's accessible only to advanced spiritual practitioners, let's offer our salutations to this Dakshina Murthy. The sixth point on our journey is the Ramana Ashram, located to your right along the Girivalam path. Within it, you'll come across the Matru Bhuteswara temple, which holds the Samadhi of Ramana Maharshi's mother.
• 10:30 - 11:00 Adjacent to this temple, you'll find the Samadhi of Ramana Maharshi himself. Offer your heartfelt respects at these sites. The Ramana Ashram has numerous significant locations worth exploring, and I'll delve into them in a separate video. Since visiting all of them might take about an hour, for now, offer your salutations and continue. The seventh stop is the Vinayaka temple, situated across from the Ramana Ashram. It's enclosed by a grill, as you can see. This temple houses Meenakshi Devi, Sundareswar, and Vinayaka.
• 11:00 - 11:30 In a previous video, I mentioned that Lord Shiva and Parvati Devi appeared as an elderly couple to Kavyakanta Ganapati Muni and his brother, offering them food. This incident occurred in this very temple, infusing it with the energy of Parvati and Parameswar. Hence, extend your respects to them. As you proceed to the eighth location from this temple, you'll notice the Samadhi of Chalam Garu on the left side of the pavement.
• 11:30 - 12:00 Many Telugu individuals are familiar with him, his name was Gudipati Venkata Chalam, a renowned author. Initially an atheist, his early works were somewhat controversial. However, after encountering Ramana Maharshi, his perspective transformed completely, leading him to dedicate his life to serving Ramana Maharshi. He subsequently wrote a remarkable book titled 'Bhagawan Smrithulu', and even the foreword of the book is intriguing.
• 12:00 - 12:30 A bit further down the Girivalam path from the Ramana Ashram, you'll encounter his Samadhi on the left side of the pavement. The eighth spot is situated on the right side of the Girivalam path and is known as the Draupadi temple or Dharmaraj temple, as shown. It appears worn and we're not permitted to enter, and this temple houses a Shivling that was installed and worshipped by the Pandavas. From this point, you can catch a Didhamukha Darshan of Arunagiri.
• 12:30 - 13:00 This can bring inner calmness to those who have faced numerous setbacks in life and are feeling apprehensive about facing the future. Different views of Arunagiri from various spots hold immense power, and this Darshan is no exception.
• 13:00 - 13:30 Before reaching the ninth location, you'll notice a lion sculpture on your right, known as Simha Teertham. In the past, Arunachalam boasted 365 holy water sources, allowing one to bathe in a different Teertham each day of the year. Over time, some have dried up or fallen into disrepair, and Simha Teertham is among those. Continuing along the path, you'll come across Yama Lingam on your left side, which is easily recognizable.
• 13:30 - 14:00 This potent Lingam is the third in the Ashta Lingas and was worshipped by Yama, the god of death. Worshipping this Lingam can protect us from accidents and untimely death. Mangala is the presiding deity of this area. Consequently, reciting the Angaraka Runavimochana Stotram at this site can yield beneficial outcomes for those facing financial difficulties.
• 14:00 - 14:30 This Stotram itself is incredibly potent, and if recited at this place due to Mangala's presence, it can yield remarkable results. Therefore, consider printing out the Stotram and reciting it here. Adjacent to this area is the Yama Teertham, but it is currently in a state of disrepair. Nevertheless, it remains a powerful Teertham, and let's hope that these Teerthas are rejuvenated and once again frequented by devotees. This aspiration is why I'm creating these videos. Interestingly, there's a burial ground preceding the Yama Lingam.
• 14:30 - 15:00 Given that Yama governs the South direction, this arrangement is significant. In the burial ground, you'll find the Samadhis of various Siddhas, some at the entrance and others within. In the future, I will create a video about all these Samadhis. For now, offer your respects from outside. After the Yama Lingam, you'll encounter the 10th location on the left side, which features a Mandap housing the Prithvi Nandi.
• 15:00 - 15:30 Pay your respects to this Nandi and if possible, light a lamp there. If you're able to carry a lamp with you, you can light it here. While many people are familiar with the Ashta Lingas around Arunagiri, fewer know about the existence of 8 powerful Nandis. Some Nandis are even difficult to spot. The Prithvi Nandi is the first among these 8 Nandis. So offer your Namaskar to this Nandi.
• 15:30 - 16:00 A bit further, the road splits into two, one leading to Bengaluru and the other being the Giri Pradakshin path. At this junction, on the pavement, you'll find the Valamuri Ganapati temple. This Ganapati's trunk is turned towards the right, an unusual sight. He swiftly grants wishes and according to Puranas, visiting this Ganapati can bring fortune.
• 16:00 - 16:30 Nevertheless, make sure to have Darshan of all these deities, seeking their blessings which inherently fulfill our wishes. Continuing further along the Girivalam path, you'll come across the 12th location on your left side, the Ashram of Sage Durvasa. There are three powerful Ashrams of different sages on the Girivalam path, and this is the first of them. Inside this Ashram, you'll find a pleasant depiction of Sage Durvasa with his Varada and Abhaya Hasthas (blessing and protective hands).
• 16:30 - 17:00 This idol was consecrated by Kunti Devi. While others experienced the anger of Sage Durvasa, Kunti Devi was the sole recipient of his grace. Near the Ashram, there's a neem tree where people tie yellow threads, believed to grant couples the blessing of children. People also place stones there, believing it will help them acquire their own homes.
• 17:00 - 17:30 I've elaborated on this topic in a previous video, so pay your respects to Sage Durvasa. A bit further, you'll reach the 13th point on the right side of the path, known as Kattu Sivaashram. However, access to go inside requires permission from the forest department, and a guide is needed due to the dense forest. If not, you could easily get lost. So, offer your respects from outside. Kattu translates to "forest," hence Kattu Shiva refers to Shiva in the forest.
• 17:30 - 18:00 He was a Siddha and lived during the time of Ramana Maharshi. Inside, you'll find a cave where he meditated, as well as the remains of his Matham and Samadhi. This place is enigmatic and mysterious. Even today, Siddhas continue to meditate in the form of large snakes within the cave, and numerous snake skins can be seen there. Since we can't enter this area, offer your respects to him from outside.
• 18:00 - 18:30 From here, you can witness the Somaskanda Darshan of Arunagiri, revealing the three peaks representing Lord Shiva, Parvati Devi, and Kumaraswami. This Darshan holds immense power. As you proceed from here, the view of the Giri becomes obstructed by dense trees.
• 18:30 - 19:00 This area is referred to as Kama Kadu, meaning "forest of desires." It symbolizes how excessive desires can prevent one from reaching Shiva. Moving forward, you'll encounter the second Nandi known as Appu Nandi. This Nandi is associated with the element of water among the Panchabhutas. There are five Nandis associated with five elements.
• 19:00 - 19:30 Through the space between this Nandi's horns, you can have the Mitracharu Darshan of the Giri. This Darshan helps restore lost relationships, wealth, and possessions. Continuing ahead, you'll find the third Nandi on the pavement, enclosed in a small Mandap. This Nandi is called Teyu Nandi.
• 19:30 - 20:00 Through it, you can have the Chaturmukha Darshan of the Giri. Brahma, who has four faces, represents this aspect. Lord Brahma gained the knowledge necessary for creation after his penance here. People who are struggling with distractions and negative thoughts can meditate here to gain the knowledge they seek, as this spot holds potent energy.
• 20:00 - 20:30 If you're able to complete the Giri Pradakshin while visiting all these remarkable locations, it will yield unprecedented results.
• 20:30 - 21:00 Moving a bit further, you'll come across the 16th point on the right side, known as Shona Teertham. Here, you'll find two Nandi idols, one facing outside and the other facing the Giri. Adjacent to them is a powerful Vinayaka temple housing Jyothi Vinayaka. During his Giri Pradakshin, Ramana Maharshi used to rest at three specific places, and this was the first spot where he would take a break.
• 21:00 - 21:30 This spot holds great power, which is why Ramana Maharshi chose to rest here. His presence has contributed to making this area more spiritually charged, offering a peaceful atmosphere for meditation. By experiencing all these aspects during the Giri Pradakshin, one can feel an indescribable sense of joy. Before you reach the 17th spot, you'll come across the Mariamman temple located next to the road. It's a small temple on an elevated platform, the goddess here is incredibly potent, granting blessings of children and good health.
• 21:30 - 22:00 In the past, since there was no temple for her, the goddess resided outside. When devotees attempted to build a temple, a prominent person tried to halt the process. The goddess intervened and orchestrated a divine play that compelled the devotees to construct her temple. So, offer your Namaskar to her. As you move forward, reach the 17th spot which is the Niruti Lingam situated on the left side of the path.
• 22:00 - 22:30 This Lingam is the fourth among the Ashta Lingas and was installed by the demon king Niruti, who governs the Southwest direction. Vasthu Doshas, or negative energies related to the built environment, are often associated with the Niruti direction. A slight mistake in this aspect can adversely affect our lives. A careful attention to this direction can elevate us to the highest states, as said by Vasthu experts.
• 22:30 - 23:00 Rahu is the presiding deity of this Kshetra. Adjacent to the Niruti Lingam, you'll find the Niruti Pushkarini, which is in bad state. This Lingam holds the potential to alleviate issues related to negative and malevolent energies. It also brings fame according to Puranas. Once, when Ganapati Muni was in meditation here, an ethereal voice (Ashareeravani) spoke, announcing that the chariot had halted and would not move until he arrived there.
• 23:00 - 23:30 When Ganapati Muni sensed unusual energies in the Pachaiamman temple, he came to the Niruti Lingam to meditate. This highlights the incredible power of this place. In all the Ashta Linga temples, you'll notice a large photo displayed. This person is Moopanar Swami.
• 23:30 - 24:00 He was a revered Sadhu from Tirunelveli. In 1968, he arrived here when the Ashta Lingas were in poor condition. Through his efforts in collecting donations, he restored these temples, which is why his photo is displayed in each of the Ashta Linga temples.
• 24:00 - 24:30 Moving a bit further, you'll encounter the 18th spot to your right, known as the Nandi Mukha Darshan. A signboard will indicate its location. Here, you can observe a natural rock formation that strikingly resembles the head of Nandi, with clear details like ears and other features that appear as if drawn by an artist.
• 24:30 - 25:00 Offer your respects from this point. Before you reach the 19th spot, you'll come across the Vallalar Ashram. Several Vallalar Ashrams are present around the Giri. I'll make a detailed video about them in the future. For now, I'll share information about Vallalar. He resided in Vadalure, Tamilnadu, until 1874. His divine plays were truly remarkable.
• 25:00 - 25:30 Even the British officials were captivated by his divine actions and documented his magnificence in their official records. He had the unique ability to exist in a soul-like form even while in his physical body. His shadow wouldn't cast on the ground, an occurrence the British officials duly noted. Eventually, when he decided to depart from his physical form, he entered a room and locked it.
• 25:30 - 26:00 When his disciples entered the room after he didn't emerge for a prolonged period, they couldn't find him inside. The British officials also documented this incident, considering it an unsolved mystery. Vallalar is worshipped in the form of light. This is why you'll find a light (Jyothi) in his Ashram's inner sanctum (Garbhalayam). I'll delve into more details about him later. For now, offer your respects to him outside his Ashram. Continuing a bit further, you'll find the Adirner Annamalai temple on your left, as shown.
• 26:00 - 26:30 This temple is a delight to behold. Its name stems from its alignment with the rear of the main Gopuram (temple tower). On Tamil Ugadi, the sun's rays directly illuminate the Shiva Lingam. From this location, you can experience the powerful Shivashakthi Darshan of the Giri. One hill symbolizes Shiva, and the other represents Parvati. Offer your salutations to both of them.
• 26:30 - 27:00 Proceeding a little more, you'll find the 20th spot, Akasha Nandi, on the pavement. This marks the 4th Nandi in the context of the 5 Nandis associated with the five elements (Panchabhutas). Pay your respects to Akasha Nandi and continue a short distance. There, you'll discover the 21st energy point on your left. This temple is known as Palani Andavar temple, dedicated to Kumaraswami. Its potency derives from the fact that Swami manifested here after his penance.
• 27:00 - 27:30 He assumed the form of Dandapani, resembling Subrahmanyam Swami in Palani, which led to his name Palani Andavar. On the temple's exterior, you'll notice the idol of Bhringi atop a pillar to your left.
• 27:30 - 28:00 Bhringi, after undergoing a curse, performed penance here, resulting in the lifting of his curse. The combined penance of Kumaraswami and Bhringi has bestowed this place with potent energy. A bit ahead, you'll come upon the Rajarajeswari temple on your left, as shown. Although it's a small temple in a state of disrepair, it carries significant potency.
• 28:00 - 28:30 The Goddess here is remarkably beautiful, emanating divine radiance. Interestingly, from this spot, only the Parvati Hill is visible, not the Shiva Hill. This temple's manifestation coincides with the concentrated energy of Parvati Devi. At the idol's feet lies the Kurma Meru Yantra installed by Dattatreya Swami.
• 28:30 - 29:00 Offering salutations or worshiping this Yantra can remove obstacles and fulfill all desires. Outside, you'll notice the Dasamahavidya idols, highlighting the temple's potent tantric nature. Chinnamastha Devi, although often depicted as fierce, has a beheaded head that looks serene with a gentle smile in this temple.
• 29:00 - 29:30 Unfortunately, this temple was in poor condition with ruins. Typically, during the Girivalam, people only visit the Ashta Lingas, leading to their better upkeep. However, if we also visit these lesser-known temples, it can help priests earn income and encourage local businesses to thrive.
