• 06:30 - 07:00 first uh this first session um in accordance with the Mandate that we have received uh in decision 1 CP uh 27 um we plan to use uh this meeting today uh to hear your views and guidance on uh the topics that we have outlined in our letter from 25th of March a letter addressed to uh parties and
• 07:00 - 07:30 observers um your views on the format of the dialogue and also your expectations on how the dialogue um Can inform uh cop 30 but also other uh processes under the convention and the uh Paris uh agreement um the meeting will be recorded um that is merely for internal use so to ensure that we capture all the views

• 08:00 - 08:30 dialogue uh it shared three possible priority topics um and we felt that this could uh encourage a a focused discussion uh at uh today's uh exchange um in our view the um the 20 203 and 24 ocean dialogue um as slate the groundwork on a wide range of issues
• 08:30 - 09:00 uh related to mitigation adaptation um and means of implementation um it has built Bridges between the unfc process and other organizations and it uh enables the transition from ambition into concrete action so we consider the dialogue a success in bringing together the climate and Ocean Communities um and we take note of the
• 09:00 - 09:30 the key messages of the informal summary reports prepared by our predecessors um Ambassador Julio cordano and Neil OD and are very grateful for um their work our key miss our key Mission as we see it and as outlined in the letter is to deepen the work of the dialogue um increasing its impact on a few Ed priority areas and elevating the uh
• 09:30 - 10:00 political profile of the ocean and climate Nexus at uh cop 30 our aim is for the results of this ocean dialogue to be reflected into the discussions and negotiations at cop 30 and to contribute to the much needed ocean-based um deliberations um in Bam um accordingly our
• 10:00 - 10:30 2025 uh uh our vision for the 2025 dialogue is to accelerate uh ocean-based climate action by driving implementation this would mean translating ambition into action by developing and implementing sustainable ocean-based measures in ndcs secondly uh enhancing adaptive capacity strengthening resilience and reducing vulnerability cl to climate change by advancing ocean based
• 10:30 - 11:00 adaptation measures and thirdly uh strengthening uh synergies across climate biodiversity and uh the ocean Nexus um subsequently uh we have identified um the uh three priority areas where we would think um that it would be most useful to focus our ex change of views on uh the possible
• 11:00 - 11:30 topics for this year dialogue and and and those are uh much in line with the three elements of the of the vision that I um just spoke about it is first about uh the inclusion of ocean-based measures in the new cycle of ndc's with of course cup 30 uh generally seen as a key moment for sing for taking stock of
• 11:30 - 12:00 ndc's um we think that the dialogue could help in identify and address uh barriers um to o a sustainable ocean-based climate ambition and implementation um we believe that the dialogue can um serve as a space to learn from each other's experiences and to learn about each other's plannned activities and and so be a platform that
• 12:00 - 12:30 supports uh implementation of ocean based measures and solutions uh for the new and the updated ndc's um secondly on um the topic of adaptation um we feel that the dialogue could contribute to the UAE framework for climate uh Global Climate resilience and the UAE Bellum work program to develop indicators for measuring
• 12:30 - 13:00 progress towards the targets um under the global call on adaptation and and so we see the dialogue as a good opportunity um to to explore together how we can scale up ocean-based adaptation action and how this uh can be of help in uh achieving the UAE framework targets such as on ecosystems
• 13:00 - 13:30 on food Security on water and on human uh settlements thirdly there is the issue of um synergies and strengthening the ocean biodiversity climate Nexus um this was already apparent in the um in the uh dialogue uh dialogues from 23 and 24 um it reinforced the need uh for stronger synergies between climate ocean
• 13:30 - 14:00 and biodiversity highlighting the importance of enhancing the institutional coordination and also policy alignment across Frameworks like the convention on bio biodiversity unfc and the Paris agreement the bb& agreement um but also the ongoing negotiations in the international seabat Authority and with the um the un ocean
• 14:00 - 14:30 conference taking place just prior to uh the dialogue we we think that the dialogue could be a key opportunity to explore how uh it can support a uh coherent implementation across the uh different Frameworks that I just uh mentioned uh to reiterate um as expressed in our letter to you um these are our views these are areas that
• 14:30 - 15:00 we believe that can help um with a good cop 30 outcome on this subject but of course we we are open to your views on this uh these topics for the 25 dialogue and um and and based on this exchange we will adapt and refine the topics accordingly um we also would like to hear your views on on the modalities for

• 20:00 - 20:30 and the country statement because this is will allow us to fully absorb the party opinion not only for the issues presented but also for the next steps and goal to aim to achieve we believe this approach is more effective and one uh way presentation format especially when we the number presenter is high and time is limited instead of shortening presentation we propose focusing a few key issues during the dialogue while
• 20:30 - 21:00 allowing additional perspective insight and lesson learn to be shared through uh the other channels and E handbooks or other digital media distribute in advance could be effective uh way to ensure that all contribution are capture and consider uh distinguish colleague inia support the topic proposed by the co- facilitator uh these are critical issues that must be addressed and discussed not just among the parties but also with non party stakeholder that

• 21:30 - 22:00 putting blue into the endes and build uh from there second on the global goal on adaptation of GGA Indonesia is committed in achieving the GGA emphasis uh uh the important of the including customer and local communities in this effort additionally we see the blue economy as a valuable approach not only to drive the economy benefits from the ocean resources but also ensure the long uh term disil the last one third on Ocean
• 22:00 - 22:30 biodiversity climate synergies biodiversity is play crucial role in maintaining the resilience of marine ecosystem Indonesia remains committed to protecting and restoring Marine habitats and spes however discussion on biodiversity must be carefully managed to avoid overlap with the ongoing discussion under the convention of bial diversity or CBD so therefore we encourage the pro facilitator to structure this discussion in way that complements rather than duplicates

• 24:30 - 25:00 in the vision laters these targeted topics will provide the opportunity to deepen the work of the dialogue and to further connect it with the newf tric and the Paris agreement these topics are also fully in line with the previous cup decision particularly cup 26 27 and 28 decisions the EU member states also welcom the approach taken by the co-facilitators of preserving a balance between mitigation and adaptations as
• 25:00 - 25:30 well as the special attension to the synergies between the oceans and biodiversity regarding topic one specifically on ndcs and ocean based measures it's will be essential to buid work on the cup 28 decisions that calls for multi sectoral uh Solutions ensuring the Integrity of marine ecosystem while scaling up as appropriate ocean based mitigation actions this was further recalled by the cup 29
• 25:30 - 26:00 statements underlining uh that ocean based mitigation action should always be sustainable and protects the Integrity of all ecosystem in accordance with the best available science in that sense this topic should focus on reducing emissions by increasing offshore renewable energies especially proven Technologies like offshore wind power and reducing emissions from Shipping while
• 26:00 - 26:30 transitioning away from fossil fuels regarding topic number two we also welcome the connections with the GGA uh we think it's important to build this exercise on the workshop that took place uh in B two weeks ago and on existing indicators particularly those under the GBF the expert of the UAE billing work program will deliver a first list of indicators prior to b62 and the dialogue
• 26:30 - 27:00 should capitalize on this opportunity to provide relevant input on Ocean Integrations with cop 30 insights the EU and its member states see also a need to strengthen synergies among climate biodiversity and oceans and improve the cooperation between the relevant international organization and processes particularly the bbnj agreement where there is an obligation of cooperation with International uh uh body uh and Regional
• 27:00 - 27:30 framework and the global biodiversity framework this topic is particularly timely with Uno 3 taking place just before the Bon sessions uh and in this respect the EU and its member states call for ambitious language on oceans and climate in the political Declaration of yuk we also encourage that the science basis of the annual dialogue is strengthened through connections with relevant scientific bodies such as the
• 27:30 - 28:00 apcc and IPS regarding the structure of the dialogue um the EU and its member states continue to welcome the annual dialogue and sees it as the appropriate format providing a platform that brings together as parties and non-party stakeholders to advance the oceans and climate issues both within UNF try and the price agreement and in relations with other organization and processes since the BN session will start just
• 28:00 - 28:30 after Uno 3 the EU and its member State recommend that the dialogue is organized in the first day of BN to allow for stakeholders participating in unuk to also participate in the dialogue the second reason is to enhance links with all the discussions taking place during the sb's meetings in particular coordination with the research dialogue would be helpful to avoid any duplications to facilitate the preparation of this
• 28:30 - 29:00 dialogue an information note should be shared ahead of the dialogue this note should be sent to parties well in advance to allow a good preparation of the dialogue which is essential for its success at least one month in advance will allow appropriate preparations in terms of program it will be also essential to receive it well in advance and allocate enough time for the plenary discussion for parties and non-parties to share their views finally regarding cop 30
• 29:00 - 29:30 expectations uh having Brazil and Fiji sharing the co-facilitation with Belgium provides a very good opportunity to raise the political attention on the oceans and climate Nexus particularly on the occasions of the 10 anniversary of the Paris agreement the EU and its member states are of the view that the dialogue should look at something actionable that could be reflected in the informal summary report to be presented at cup 30s in view of cop 30 and building on
• 29:30 - 30:00 preview cop decisions and cop 29 statement the EU would be in favor of including strong and ambiti ambitious ocean related language in the text at cup 30 preferably in cover decision as appropriate finally looking ahead to cup 30 we would be very pleased to hear about Brazil plans on the oceans if this would be subject to any specific attention such as an initiative or high segment thank you very

• 33:00 - 33:30 where the nature conservancy the UN high level climate Champions and WWF and these recommendations align very much with the Visions you presented to transform ambition into concrete action using the global stock te as a compass to guide our Collective effort in the interest of time let me share only four of these recommendations with you now and I hope it will be possible to submit the rest in writing um the first recommendation is that we encourage parties to request a
• 33:30 - 34:00 three to fiveyear road map for the dialogue this road map would provide a clear common vision for the dialogue allowing for long-term planning and also ensuring for a coherent progression of topics over time the second one is that the dialogue should continue to inform how parties can strengthen the integration of ocean based measures in National Climate strategies ndcs remain the primary vehicle to translate ambition into
• 34:00 - 34:30 concrete action and to cataliz investment so as such it should continue to be our main focus with countries revising the strategies the 2025 dialogue must provide Bas guidance and examples to support parties in their revision this includes also promoting financing instruments and enabling policy environments that support programmatic flexible and long-term funding for ocean action we encourage parties to invite climate delegates particularly those responsible for ndcs
• 34:30 - 35:00 alongside their ocean focal point to enhance engagement um we also think the dialogue can be leveraged to identify key trends and messages about ocean climate measuring indices ahead of C 30 ensuring that the dialogue is fully leveraged into the NDC and stop taking discussions at cop third the dialogue should provide a space for parties to discuss how to better integrate and mainstream the ocean in ongoing climate negotiations and processes this means using the dialogue
• 35:00 - 35:30 as a strategic step in preparation for cop negotiation and for cop 30 we support that the dialogue um mentioned the the global go and adaptation specifically we think it should ensure that ocean specific indicators are integrated into the UA BLM work programs final list to measure the GTA um but we also want to make sure that other negotiations are considered specifically on finance and to secure o related funding under the new Collective
• 35:30 - 36:00 Quantified goal on on finance and the bakut BM road map to 1.5 Beyond cup we must also ensure that the ocean is fully mainstream in the relevant to NC work programs and constituted bodies as requested by the Glasgow climate PCT to do this we need to invite representatives to participate in the dialogue discussions and report on progress to integrate and strengthen ocean based action in their mandates and work plans this will help us Ensure that the dialogue's conclusions are widely shared and most importantly put into
• 36:00 - 36:30 action we must also work towards embedding these key messages into relevant agenda items to further Elevate these impacts in the fourth and last one we agree that the dialogue should actively explore synergies with relevant Frameworks conventions and agreement to advance altion more coherent and effective matter um so we do think that now is the perfect time to strengthen synergies with uh the CBD convention on BI
• 36:30 - 37:00 biological diversity firstly because uh while countries are drafting their new ndcs they're also developing the biodiversity counterparts the nbps which create a key opportunity for alignment the dialogue should therefore highlight how ocean based measures can help coordinate National plans and secondly because cup 16 mandated a consultation on synergies across the Rio conventions creating a clear opening for deepen deeper unfc engagement the
• 37:00 - 37:30 dialogue must therefore seize this moment to identify to Identify and discuss way to support strategic integration between the UNF treny and CBD agendas with the ocean at its core the 2025 dialog happening one week only after um the UN ocean conference must also amplify its conclusion integrating insights from the ocean action panel on leveraging Ocean climate and biodiversity linges and the ocean rice

• 38:30 - 39:00 wasted sea and it's in my capacity as a secretary for the um 1972 London convention and the 1996 London protocol uh the two Global treaties that prevent pollution from dumping wasted sea that I'm making this this short remarks um since these two treaties and in particular the Lan of protocol um has a mandate to regulate climate change mitigation Technologies so the ocean and climate dialogue uh has a
• 39:00 - 39:30 great benefit of being able to to be a forum where we can share these experiences and also uh nurture dialogue across and bodies and sectors so we would like to emphasize that these treaties uh do regulate carbon capture and storage in subseed bed uh geological formation and Marine engineering or ocean interventions for climate change mitigation activities um so with these uh regulations uh and and Regulatory
• 39:30 - 40:00 framework existing uh and and set up on a global scale uh by the Contracting parties we can see great benefits in having uh this feed into your dialogue as well and being being taken into account in particular on the first and third topics of your list on Ocean based measures and the ocean biodiversity climate Nexus um we do of course also as you probably aware uh work very heavily and a big focus on
• 40:00 - 40:30 decarbonization of the maritime sector but with the negotiations coming at that are marine environment protection committee next week I will refrain for for for going into depth on that uh we also have a number of other issues that I think would uh also be of benefit to to uh um be explored and and and discussed in the in the dialogue which is our work on on The Wider biodiversity related issues such as uh
• 40:30 - 41:00 biofouling uh particularly sensitive sea areas uh invasive species Etc which which all have a role to play in that Nexus so my my very short in intervention today was mainly to highlight those issues and and stress the the benefits of of having the other existing bodies and organization that work on matters that uh relate to the Mandate of the dialogue and and the and the upcoming cop as well of course to be

• 42:30 - 43:00 and elevating of course the political profile of the ocean and climate neus and in fact I would say the ocean climate and biodiversity Nexus at at cop 30 um the ioc statute set the stage for ioc uh to lead efforts as as the UN organization responsible for this uh in um concerted ocean action and be the first point of contact for the best available ocean science data and information to support decision making under the unfccc ioc has the mandate to
• 43:00 - 43:30 work closely with its member states uh and their ocean observing data knowledge and management communities to promote cooperation and coordinate programs in Research Services and capacity building in order to generate knowledge and apply that knowledge for better ocean management sustainable development operational Services protection of the environment and decision-making ioc has a mandate to collaborate with un and other International organizations in the field of ocean Research Services and Capac capity building and I would say that this is a very important uh aspect of
• 43:30 - 44:00 the work on the ocean uh with the many different aspects that we are all facing and coordinating together on um no other un body in in has a comparable mandate as the IC for supporting International ocean governance and its implementation at National scales and a clear pathway for reaching uh across EUR on un organizations around the science uh to ensure Consolidated consolidation of efforts in regards to ndc's and ocean-based measures the I can support
• 44:00 - 44:30 countries to integrate knowledge internationally determined contributions through its portfolio of work um coordinating uh through the global ocean observing system sharing data research methods and knowledge best practices on Ocean variables such as warming acidification sea level rise early Warning Systems all very important aspects of the conversations at the ocean dialogue as well as um the work that we lead in in collaboration around the UN ocean decade and connection directly with the decade National committees and our own National focal
• 44:30 - 45:00 points for example uh ioc is co-developing a guideline on climate smart Marine spatial planning that could be an ocean-based solution for ndc's considering its role in the allocation of ocean spaces for both marine conservation and Maritime sectors Marine spatial planning can contribute of course to identifying and mitigating risks assessing vulnerabilities facilitating adaptation resilience however a Divergent perspective around climate smart MSP is important we need to overcome The Divide between the focus on ecosystem health and Technologies for
• 45:00 - 45:30 renewable energies as well as feasibility of providing the needed options in the Marine space in order to really provide integrated actions that consider climate change and biodiversity in regards to adaptation the IC can help identify gaps in ocean science data assure that data research and knowledge generated is translated into policy and National plans both ndc's and naps it's also developing indicators based on essential ocean variables that are set by Goose by the global ocean observing system and supporting the work of the GGA expert group on indicators the ocean
• 45:30 - 46:00 biodiversity information system led by ioc is recognized in the CBD GBF framework for the world's ocean biodiversity and biogeographic data and information system and it provides a foundational platform recognizing and accessing biodiversity data sets that could be used and applied in approaches such as indicator-based Frameworks and risk assessments furthermore the ioc climate smart MSP work Embraces nature-based Solutions such as conservation protection restoration of BL carbon ecosystems and that is also a key part of the work in the science team
• 46:00 - 46:30 here that contribute to Coastal resilience um we need to overcome the barriers to implementing nature-based Solutions uh and these these conversations need to be further explored and certainty might remain um and it's very important to link the climate and biodiversity aspects of decision making in the Marine space in regards to Marine CDR um as identified by an example 41 uh precautionary approach is absolutely vital there is no fully tested mcdr tool
• 46:30 - 47:00 that might contribute to mitigating climate change and even once tested and proven as being safe when applied will only be one small action that can contribute to mitigating climate change it's not a silver bullet solution curbing greenhouse gas emissions and implementing actions that directly reduce stresses on Marine biodiversity such as those associated with pollution habitat destruction are by far the most effective actions for reducing current impacts on Marine biodiversity and ensuring ecosystem functioning and the
• 47:00 - 47:30 continuous delivery of ocean services to humankind without data and understanding the ocean carbon cycle and the oxygen loss that's uh that's uh increasing without improving the models projecting future ocean oxygen loss risks and benefits of large scale MC mcdr are impossible to calculate we simply do not have enough data there's a clear need for Baseline data on Ocean carbon warming acidification deoxygenation to add to that that we already have um to fill current gaps in many parts of the ocean and coastal areas so in conclusion

• 52:30 - 53:00 a recognized source of crucial climate Solutions and the dialogue's mandate to further mainstream the ocean within the UNF triple Seas processes and mechanisms has been key however additional steps can be taken to fully leverage the ocean's potential to achieve Global Climate targets there remains significant potential to amplify the dialogue's impact including by better connecting it with relevant ongoing climate negotiations processes and work dreams as has uh been mentioned many times
• 53:00 - 53:30 today ocean Conservancy supports the three focal areas suggested by the co- facilitators including ndc's and ocean based measures the global goal and adaptation and the ocean biodiversity climate synergies and we agree that a 2025 dialogue focused on these topics provides a great opportunity to advance relevant ocean climate priorities throughout the year ahead we also want to thank the co- facilitators for continuing to ensure that both mitigation and adaptation Solutions are reflected in the dialogue topics as the
• 53:30 - 54:00 full range of ocean-based climate Solutions can and should be discussed to ensure they contribute maximally to solving the climate crisis and protecting the ocean um we understand that understanding avoiding and mitigating any impacts to the marine environment and ecosystems that implementation of ocean-based climate Solutions may have is critical as an ocean conservation organization advancing ocean health and protection for over 50 years these are always top of mind and we're happy to be of particular assistance in discussions on
• 54:00 - 54:30 how to advance climate Solutions and protect the ocean these things can can happen side by side this year is particularly significant for Global Climate action as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of signing the Paris agreement and governments are required to submit new and revised ndc's by September that reflect the conclusions of the global stock take with ndcs as a topic of the dialogue this will ensure not only that the role they play is elevated but also that the role ocean-based climate Solutions play as elevated but also how to integrate them
• 54:30 - 55:00 and follow through an implementation uh can be furthered among parties in their discussion it is imperative the dialogue be attended by those who are working on these strategies and plans encouraging parties to invite delegates and negotiators particularly those responsible for developing ndc's alongside their ocean focal points as a way to enhance the dialogue engagement and carry these important ocean Solutions further is something we ask the co- facilitators to uh consider and encourage parties to
• 55:00 - 55:30 do a few other comments on procedure and participation uh we encourage the co-facilitators to identify and share the chosen focal areas and any Preparatory materials for the dialogue with parties and non-party stakeholders as soon as possible to allow adequate time for Preparation ahead of the dialogue and to encourage and facilitate diverse party engagement as was previously suggested at least a month in advance would be incredibly helpful we suggest scheduling the 2025 dialogue during the first week of Subs 62 in
• 55:30 - 56:00 order to accommodate delegates from outside of Europe who are attending the Uno uh three in France the week previously and we support the participation and representation of diverse panelists from the global South including parties from Africa who may have been underrepresented in previous dialogue presentations and panels we recommend the dialogue not overlap with key strategic negotiations like adaptation and Finance in order to minimize scheduling conflicts whenever possible and for example with regard to
• 56:00 - 56:30 the UAE bam work program effort to set indicators and the proposal to have the global goal and adaptation as a key topic um this is one of the places that ensuring the discussion and the dialogue be incorporated and considered in negotiations we encourage the co- co-facilitators to ensure participation of leadership from the Secretariat and parties leading the those negotiations in the dialogue discussion on that topic and other key focal key focal areas or topics that are selected uh to ensure

• 59:30 - 60:00 climate ambition and implementation more specifically through enabling our partners such as the NDC Partnerships um we help countries raise their ambition and Implement ambitious N3 3.0 on the global goal on adaptation we consider it useful to make sure that an exchange of views could lead to to possible recommendation toward the scaning up of
• 60:00 - 60:30 action-based solutions such as Mangrove sea grasses salt marches project through the expansion of capacity of un agencies to support countries implementation of solutions for example unops has worked tiously with Partners to enable stronger commitment to decarbonization uh naturebas solution and blue carbon ecosystem we have provided climate resilient solution to accelerate ecosystem based adaptation and natur based solution including the management
• 60:30 - 61:00 restoration and conservation of terrial Inland water Mountain marine and Coastal ecosystem we have provided effective technical assistance to countries and communities at risk of climate induced disaster impact through the Santiago Network and thus find it useful to discuss through this topic uh how we can enhance this type of simar action on the third top ocean diversity climate synergies we find it also relevant to

• 61:30 - 62:00 focus on mechanism and initiatives that aim at reversing ecosystem degradation including to Marine based solution while ensuring social environmental safeguards for example at yap's Mangrove um restoration plays a vital role in our Jeff intervention for unap in the Gulf of Mexico and in the South China Sea we are also working with other partners on how impact multi-stakeholders initiatives such as cities Alliance scale up

• 71:00 - 71:30 Marine geoengineering and the necessity of taking the precautionary approach um so this cannot be understated uh while exploring innovative solutions to addressing climate change uh crisis is really critical we must acknowledge that we currently lack Advocate um Baseline data to fully understand the risk um and the unintended consequences of marine geoengineering as such it is also that any discussion or initiative in this area prioritizes caution uh
• 71:30 - 72:00 comprehensive research and safeguarding of marine ecosystems uh the precautionary principle must be Central to any of these discussions um that involve GE engineering the techniques and ensuring that we do not compromise the health of our ocean and its ecosystem and uh and and the many services that it provide in in our attempt to address the climate change so in addition um I also like to Echo the point the um on proposed um on um on the need for the the the the smart Marine
• 72:00 - 72:30 speciaal planning the missp but also the sustainable ocean plans to better manage and protect ocean ecosystem in the context of climate adaptation um and um I think in well in conclusion uh well also includ including the uh I'm just going to jump it to make it sure I can submit the a full statement later on um we also really commend the co- facilitates emphasis on enhancing the synergies uh with the different Frameworks such as a BB andj agreement

• 76:00 - 76:30 facilitators um expressed in our in our vision um the the the the many made made the remark that it's it's very important to to handle these uh topics with with all the different relevant actors uh involved um but also also a general sense that um that we are um at at a juncture where we
• 76:30 - 77:00 should um go deeper into the subject matters um look at uh Solutions um try to achieve actionable uh outcomes uh with the dialogue but uh even more so um in BM at at the cop 30 um I think many of you made the point
• 77:00 - 77:30 that it's very important to have a dialogue that is um that is science-based um so the the the impact of of of of research will be uh will will be important um on the topic of of ndc's um also there support uh but also I I I could hear from the interventions um while stressing that um
• 77:30 - 78:00 what we are looking for in terms of uh ocean-based action should be sustainable uh should preserve uh the ecosystems and so the the the issue of impact is important um achieving reductions was mentioned as well and also the uh the issue of the precautionary principle uh in respect to uh to CDR um there was
• 78:00 - 78:30 also the um the remark that that we should build on the um on the outcome of of GST on G on on adaptation also there I think very very positive suggestions and and and and feedback um the importance of having the coastal communities uh
• 78:30 - 79:00 fully in involved um the the importance of looking at consistency with the global biodiversity framework n nature based Solutions but also the issue of um Marine planning uh was was was mentioned on the third topic the the synergies um also there positive um I I
• 79:00 - 79:30 understood there particularly that um it is important to to broaden our reflection to to some extent also um look at issues under the uh under the London uh convention um and in a broader sense but that that is not just on the issue of synergies but across the board uh it is important to to to collaborate with uh
• 79:30 - 80:00 with many of you uh and particularly from from The Observers who are are very active in um implementation issues and the the linking up with the um marish partnership um is is a is an important one I I think um on the the issue of the the format of the dialogue um there were a couple of uh of
• 80:00 - 80:30 of suggestions there was certainly the suggestion to to to have the note well in advance um so every so parties and observers uh are enabled to prepare very well for the dialogue there was also the the suggestion to make sure that um we have the um the actors that um that have a decisive role on the subject
• 80:30 - 81:00 matters uh are included in the uh in in in the discussions and there was also the suggestion um to to to have the uh dialogue early on uh in in Bon um because of the um because of practice iCal uh issues like the uh the delegates that would wish to participate at uh in in these at
• 81:00 - 81:30 Uno 3 um but also from a from the perspective of um of having impact on uh the the work that will take place uh on on adaptation indicators but also the science discussions that will follow later um this issue of timing is certainly that something that needs to be looked at by um the SB chairs um with
• 81:30 - 82:00 having all the uh well having the full picture on on on the um the events and the mandates for uh for Bon um but it but it's certainly an issue that we that we can convey um and finally on the cop thir um I think that was that was a point that was made by many um the the well
• 82:00 - 82:30 the importance of of of of cup 30 um the the reference to the 10 universary of the of of the Paris agreement but also there that it's not just the the informal note that can contribute but also the the integration uh of the ocean uh substance in in in other deliveries
• 82:30 - 83:00 uh deliverables of of of the cop notably the um the work on uh on indicators but overall uh the the importance to um to have the issue firmly um uh under the attention at at at at the cup um ambor Kandi um I would like to ask you if you would like to
• 83:00 - 83:30 um to present a few further takeaways from your side um thank you thank you thank you very much uh well um hello everybody um I'm very glad to be in this in this consultation it was very interesting to hear all your considerations uh I also uh understand I also heard a general support for for the issues that that have been proposed so I suppose we are going to proceed on that
• 83:30 - 84:00 basis of those three uh main themes uh I understand there there was also a lot of uh uh colleagues U mentioning the need for actionable results from from the dialogue and a good integration with cop 30 as was just mentioning so we we work with the organization of the cop 30 in berain to to to make sure that this uh results can flow into the uh cop
• 84:00 - 84:30 results uh still on on the substantive size I I would note that a number of delegations mentioned the issue of ocean pment Finance as an important issue so maybe in the in in the note when we develop those three thingses we should consider uh highlighting this this dimension in the discussion as well as the issue of uh indications an adaptation process which is ongoing also uh there could be an interesting contribution from the dialogue to to
• 84:30 - 85:00 that to that process uh on the Synergy part uh some delegations uh called uh uh as to have a tension to avoid interference in in especially negotiating ongoing negotiating processes I think of course that's from I think from from our perspective is is very important course it also requires some discipline on the part of of participants in in in the dialogue but uh I certainly I will try to direct the
• 85:00 - 85:30 the discussion outside of interference with any other ongoing process uh also as P mentioned there was this this um reference to other uh processes and conventions and organizations that were not directly mentioned here we have to have this balance between the focus of the discussion and the and but certainly anything that is related to those main issues uh should be brought into the
• 85:30 - 86:00 into consideration in relation to the format the idea that dialogue should continue to be inclusive participatory um that's certainly our Our intention and to ensure adequate time for the participation of delegations in in in the dialogue so trying to organize it in that way uh there was an interesting uh uh suggestion that we encourage that those people responsible for elaborating
• 86:00 - 86:30 the the ndcs uh could be present in in the dialogue so of course something that we can ensure as as facilitators but we certainly can encourage uh countries to to bring those people to the discussion uh the know per to present the note was already mentioned by Eric also the need for representativeness in participation including in in the panels so I think uh
