      Overview

Monster Hunter Wilds' title update brings to the table the fiercely competitive Zoh Shia weapons, challenging the reigning Ardian builds. While perfection might still lie with the top-tier Ardian setups, the new weapons can comfortably fit into many players' arsenals, providing a fresh aesthetic and surprisingly effective performance across different scenarios.

The key feature of the Zoh Shia weapons, the White Flame Torrent skill, provides additional damage boosts. The efficiency of this skill is tied to the player's weapon choice and style, thriving particularly with frequently used, fast-attack weapons. Interestingly, these weapons also increase in value during longer battles, making them a unique choice for utility-focused builds.

Weapons like gunlances and the Mitsutsune often require unique build focuses or may fall short against the top elemental setups. Nonetheless, Zoh Shia weapons shine by offering players a well-rounded, if not top, competitive option in the Monster Hunter Wilds arsenal, enlivening both the aesthetic and strategic gameplay facets.

            Chapters

            • 00:00 - 00:30: Introduction to Ardian and Zoia Weapons The introduction highlights the unique materials used in crafting Audian and Zoia weapons. Audian weapons are created from a mysterious green metal left by a lost civilization destroyed by Zosia. There is a slight confusion about the strength of Zoia weapons compared to Audian weapons, given their origin from monsters. The chapter also notes the recent title update 1 for 'Monster Hunter Wild,' which brings new developments to this story.
            • 00:30 - 01:00: Overview of New Weapons in Monster Hunter Wild The chapter begins with an introduction to the new weapons featured in the Monster Hunter Wild game. It raises the question of how these new weapons stack up against previously crafted monster weapons and standard Ardian weapons. The chapter promises a detailed discussion on each weapon type, focusing on their unique features and capabilities. Initially, it provides a general comparison to standard Ardian weapons, highlighting typical reinforcements for most melee weapon types, which commonly include combinations of attack boosts and sharpness boosts.
            • 01:00 - 01:30: General Comparison: Ardian vs. Zoia Weapons The chapter provides a detailed analysis of Ardian weapons, particularly focusing on a hypothetical model with four attack reinforcements and attack parts. This model boasts 225 raw attack, 5% base affinity, and three empty slots, along with a status or element of choice. The chapter explains how to calculate the effective raw attack by considering the average gain from affinity. It highlights that with 5% base affinity, and a critical hit chance of 25%, the overall average increase in damage is calculated by the chance of scoring a critical hit.
            • 01:30 - 02:00: Ardian Weapon Specifications The chapter 'Ardian Weapon Specifications' delves into the damage output calculations of Ardian weapons, discussing a 1.25% damage increase which is further enhanced by a white sharpness modifier, resulting in a 300.7 effective raw damage. The text compares this with a Zoia weapon featuring 220 attack, 5% base affinity, some dragon element, and multiple slots. It also has a white sharpness and is equipped with the white flame torrent skill. This results in a slightly lower effective raw damage of 294 when calculated similarly. This comparison highlights different specifications and potential effectiveness at a certain stage in weapon performance.
            • 02:00 - 03:00: Zoia Weapon Specifications and Comparison This chapter focuses on the evaluation of Zoia weapon specifications, emphasizing the importance of weapon skills and decoration slots depending on the weapon type. It discusses the potential loss in decoration slots when using certain weapons compared to the Ardian ones, specifically how it affects critical boost and sharpness management. The chapter hints at a detailed discussion on each weapon in a following section, using the general scenario of losing a critical boost decoration as a common example.
            • 03:00 - 04:00: Understanding Crit Boost and White Flame Torrent Chapter Title: Understanding Crit Boost and White Flame Torrent Summary: This chapter discusses the effects of different levels of Crit Boost on your damage output. It explains that a full Crit Boost results in critical hits dealing 40% increased damage, while Crit Boost level 3 results in a 34% increase. The chapter details the impact on overall damage, noting that with 100% affinity, a drop from Crit Boost level 2 would result in a 4.3% damage decrease. However, if the affinity is less than 100% or conditionally 100%, the damage loss would be less than 4.3%.
            • 04:00 - 04:30: Skill Effectiveness of White Flame Torrent This chapter evaluates the skill 'White Flame Torrent' in a game, based on its performance in recent video testing. It explains that the skill contributes approximately 3% to 4.5% of a player's total damage in most scenarios. The damage boost mechanism involves a chance to deal an additional 50 damage when hitting a monster. However, there's a 3-second internal cooldown, restricting this bonus damage application to once in that timeframe, regardless of the number of hits.
            • 04:30 - 06:00: Zoia Weapon Advantages for Players The chapter discusses the advantages of using the Zoia weapon from a statistical perspective. It explains a mechanic where, if no hits have triggered an effect after three seconds, the next hit is guaranteed to activate it. This mechanic ensures an extra 50 damage is dealt on average every six seconds, contingent on consistent hits. However, the chapter notes that the benefit is not specifically enhanced by faster attack speeds.
            • 06:00 - 08:00: Greatsword Comparison: Ardian vs. Zoia This chapter discusses the comparison of two greatswords, focusing on the attack timing and efficiency of each weapon. In particular, it highlights the importance of high uptime and the ability of fast weapons to attack consistently every 3 seconds to maximize damage output. The chapter explains that while faster weapons might not directly increase damage, they offer more opportunities to align attacks with the internal cooldowns, resulting in higher overall effectiveness. The expected performance range is between a 3% to 4.5% increase in damage output.
            • 08:00 - 09:00: Long Sword: Ardian vs. Zoia The chapter 'Long Sword: Ardian vs. Zoia' discusses the impact of skill usage in combat. It explains how increasing the total damage from a particular skill becomes more valuable during longer hunts. The effectiveness of the skill is enhanced by the time spent between attacks and repositioning. The chapter highlights that the skill contributes significantly to the overall damage, especially when less frequent hits are made against the monster. This is particularly true when a build focuses on comfort skills or utility rather than pure attack, as the flat damage from the skill compensates for lower damage numbers. This increases the importance of using the skill effectively in different battle scenarios.
            • 09:00 - 10:00: Sword and Shield: Crit Boost and Slot Considerations In this chapter, the discussion focuses on the Sword and Shield weapon's unique attributes regarding Crit Boost and Slot considerations. The speaker explains that while the weapon's performance is satisfactory for most players, its true potential shines in builds lacking extensive attack skills. This is because its damage does not scale with conventional factors like attack power, elemental affinity, or crits; instead, it operates on a distinct numeric basis, enhancing damage based on utility. Consequently, the strategy involves enhancing the Ardian weapon's effective raw damage by 4.3% with two ranks of Crit Boost and comparing it with an increase in the Zoia weapon's effective raw by 3%.
            • 10:00 - 10:30: Dual Blades and White Flame Torrent Procs The chapter discusses the comparison of damage values between weapons in a game, focusing on the effectiveness of White Flame Torrent and Zosia weapons. It highlights the variability due to randomness in White Flame Torrent and compares its performance against Ardian weapons with specific enhancements. It concludes that while White Flame Torrent can underperform compared to perfectly optimized alternatives, the shortfall in damage is minimal, particularly for weapons with rapid attack speeds.
            • 10:30 - 11:30: Hammer vs. Greatsword Effectiveness This chapter discusses the comparative effectiveness of the Ardian weapons versus the Zoia weapons. It states that the Ardian weapons, when perfectly optimized for damage, only slightly outperform Zoia weapons. The difference is minimal, implying that choosing Zoia weapons over Ardian ones for their aesthetic or any non-performance reason does not result in significant loss in weapon effectiveness. Moreover, the attributes of these weapons are similar when comparing the attack boost reinforcements and characteristics such as attack level, base affinity, and white sharpness, especially when it only results in a diminutive difference in attack value. The discussion emphasizes that the practical differences are marginal, suggesting a relative equivalence in performance until other factors such as slot and skill customization come into play.
            • 11:30 - 12:30: Hunting Horn: Melody Set Comparison The chapter discusses the comparison of different Hunting Horn melody sets, focusing on the performance of Ardian and Zosia weapons. It reveals that a four out of five correctly rolled Ardian weapon matches the performance of most Zosia weapons. This is important for players who might not have a fully optimized five out of five Ardian weapon, as Zosia weapons can be a viable alternative. However, an important consideration is that Zosia weapons are limited in terms of status and element, only supporting the dragon element. The chapter promises to further delve into weapon types and their specific comparisons.
            • 12:30 - 13:30: Lance and Offensive Guard The chapter discusses the focus on maximizing damage in gameplay, emphasizing the utility of paralysis and blast effects. The main topic is the strategy for using the greatsword weapon, particularly with three level three slots available. Players are advised to consider a setup with maximum critical boost (crit boost three) and focus three, potentially adding offensive guard for additional attack boosts. It acknowledges that while offensive guard can be a valuable addition, it depends on the player's strategy and the specific in-game world being played. The text concludes by noting that while using crit boost 2 in the setup could be a viable option, it is subject to the player's discretion. The chapter also hints that the greatsword might not always be the top choice in certain situations.
            • 13:30 - 15:00: Gunlance: Qumetries and Guardian Archveld This chapter discusses the weapon known as Gunlance, focusing on the aspects of Qumetries and Guardian Archveld. It highlights the frequency and efficiency in applying the white flame torrent damage bonus with Gunlance compared to other faster weapons. The text suggests that while it is less frequent with the Gunlance, the skill's value grows over time in prolonged hunts, eventually surpassing the advantages of a full Ardian weapon. The underlying message is to assess one's performance and capability with Ardian weapons during hunts.
            • 15:00 - 16:00: Switch Axe and Power Prolonger The chapter discusses the strategic value of the Zosia weapon skill for players using greatsword and longsword in the game. When using a greatsword, players might gain more damage than average by adopting this skill, depending on their play style and reliance on random number generation (RNG). For the longsword, particularly in a raw-focused RDN setup, players typically use a combination of crit boost 3, crit boost 2, and sharpness management. The trade-off for equipping the white flame torrent is losing the crit boost 2, which impacts the damage output, but it could still be beneficial depending on the player's strategy and weapon configuration.
            • 16:00 - 17:00: Charge Blade: Ideal for White Flame Torrent This chapter discusses the Charge Blade weapon, highlighting its strengths as a fast and consistent attacking tool that is highly effective with the White Flame Torrent. The equivalent comparison with the Ardian weapon, Sword and Shield, is made to illustrate its utility. The chapter further delves into the complexities of running Sword and Shield, emphasizing the importance of crit boost and offensive guard. Various builds are examined, indicating that while optimization is possible, trade-offs in sharpness management may be required.
            • 17:00 - 18:00: Insect Glaive: Sharpness and Crit Boost The chapter discusses the sharpness and critical boost aspects of the Insect Glaive weapon. It starts with the realization that sharpening the weapon during combat is less than ideal. The chapter delves into the importance of utilizing offensive strategies, particularly for Sword and Shield users, where Offensive Guard is deemed too valuable to discard. Critical Boost 3 is highlighted as significantly more valuable than Critical Boost 2, especially for the Sword and Shield, illustrating the trade-offs between different setups and bonuses. The comparison extends to various weapons, evaluating the overall effectiveness and consistency, particularly noting the White Flame Torrent procking uptime. The chapter concludes by comparing these attributes to a two-attack-rolled Ardian Sword and Shield, suggesting a close equivalence in performance.
            • 18:00 - 19:00: Bow Guns: Ammo Considerations In the chapter titled 'Bow Guns: Ammo Considerations,' the focus is on the importance of choosing the right slots for decorations when using dual blades. The main decorations discussed are cry boost 3, sharpness management, and either cry boost 2 or power prolonger, depending on your playstyle. The author notes that the slots are a bigger issue for this weapon type compared to others, which may require players to make trade-offs. While cry boost 2 or power prolonger can be replaced, doing so may result in some comfort loss, especially for players accustomed to using power prolonger. Sharpness management and cry boost 3 are emphasized as high-value choices.
            • 19:00 - 20:00: Bow Limitations: Coating and Damage The chapter "Bow Limitations: Coating and Damage" compares the effectiveness of a certain type of weapon, specifically a bow, to Ardian dual blades. It mentions that the bow does not have slots for offensive guard, but is highly effective due to its consistent hitting ability, which makes it suitable for the white flame torrent skill. The chapter then shifts focus to the hammer, discussing decoration choices for Ardian weapons, suggesting crit boost three, crit boost 2, and either focus three or sharpness management. The author expresses a personal preference for focus, which can be combined with handicraft, but notes the importance of sharpness management.
            • 20:00 - 21:00: Misitsune Weapons: Affinity and Set Play Style This chapter explores the attributes and play style of Misitsune Weapons, focusing on affinity and set play style. The discussion compares a specific weapon choice by highlighting trade-offs, such as swapping crit boost 2 for white flame torrent, which can align it closely with great swords in terms of value. The Zosia hammer is mentioned as being nearly equivalent to a three attack reinforced Ardian weapon. It delves deeper into complexities with the hunting horn, factoring in the melody set and noting an aesthetic appeal that may influence player choices beyond performance metrics. The chapter closes with a nod to the predominant use of ardian horns for elemental advantages.
            • 21:00 - 22:00: Conclusion: Zosia vs Ardian Weapons In this chapter, the focus is on evaluating the Zosia weapon against the Ardian weapons in terms of their effectiveness and features. While Zosia's weapon offers great features like health regeneration and defensive capabilities, it lacks significant healing functionalities compared to other mainstay healing horns and doesn't have dragon horn capabilities like the Arkfeld horn. However, it compensates with features such as defense up, attack defense up, echo wave blunt for KO/stun, exhaust buildup, and offset melody, making it a versatile or 'jack-of-all-trades' weapon.

            • 00:00 - 00:30 so Audian weapons right yes sir and they're made from a green metal created by the civilization that was destroyed by Zosia yep that's the one and so Zoia weapons made from that monster yep and they're weaker well no but yeah but that No but yeah but ladies gentlemen and monsters of all ages we recently had the release of title update 1 for Monster Hunter Wild and with this came new
            • 00:30 - 01:00 monsters and new equipment including new weapons and of course one of the big questions right out of the gate is how good are the new weapons that we've gotten how do they compare to previous crafted monster weapons how do they compare to Ardian weapons and what can you expect from them in general and we'll go through each weapon type specifically to go over the more niche parts of it all but to start off with I want to do a more general comparison to a standard Ardian weapon and go from there for most melee weapon types the standard best reinforcements are four attack one sharpness boost or three attack and two sharpness boost so an
            • 01:00 - 01:30 ideal Ardian weapon being four attack reinforcements on an Ardian weapon made with attack parts would be 225 raw attack 5% base affinity and three empty three slots then the status or element of your choice while making it to calculate the effect of raw we take the attack multiply it by the average gain of affinity the weapon has 5% base affinity and a critical hit at base is 25% increase to your damage so a 5% chance at a 25% increase is an overall average
            • 01:30 - 02:00 1.25% increase to your damage we then multiply this number by 1.32 for the white sharpness modifier up to 300.7 effective raw in comparison a Zoia weapon is 220 attack 5% base affinity some dragon element on it a three slot two slot and a one slot and then white sharpness than the white flame torrent skill for a basic effective raw let's do the same thing and it will end up at 294 effective raw so just under seven less at this stage but this is when you have
            • 02:00 - 02:30 to start considering the value of the weapon skill and the value of the decoration slots difference depending on your weapon type the decorations that you would lose from having to use these slots instead of triple three slots on an Ardian weapon is either crit boost two sharpness management or for some weapons it may even be a proper weapon tax skill or like crit boost three even if you have too many required skills for your weapon to function which is why we'll be talking about the weapon specifically later in their own section but for now let's say that you're losing a crit boost to Deco as that's the most average sort of loss and I think it's
            • 02:30 - 03:00 the least problematic loss too full crit boost means that your critical hits deal 40% increased damage in comparison crit boost 3 is only a 34% increase to your damage on crits this means if you have 100% affinity so all of your hits are critical you would be losing about 4.3% damage overall from dropping crit boost 2 if you have less than 100% affinity or if you only have 100% affinity sometimes because it's due to conditional skills then you'd be losing less than 4.3% damage from the loss of this decoration
            • 03:00 - 03:30 in comparison we had a full video testing White Flame Torrent as a skill yesterday specifically and found that in most situations for most players it'll be worth somewhere between 3% to 4 1/2% of your total damage while using the skill because of how it works the quickest rundown that I can give you is when you hit a monster you have a chance to get a bonus flat 50 damage pop this chance has a 3-se secondond internal cooldown between opportunities to apply it so no matter how many times you hit a monster it cannot happen more than once
            • 03:30 - 04:00 every 3 seconds you can never have more than two failures in a row meaning that your first hit every 3 seconds has a chance of the damage pop your first hit 3 seconds after that has another chance of causing it and if neither of those two did then 3 seconds later your next hit will guaranteed trigger this effect and this is sort of a convoluted way of saying that on average if you are consistently hitting the monster you will hit for an extra 50 damage every 6 seconds or so the complication of that is because of how it works it doesn't necessarily benefit specifically fast
            • 04:00 - 04:30 weapons or specifically high up time it benefits attacking as frequently on the dot to 3 seconds as possible because you ideally would hit the monster the exact frame that the internal cooldown is over every single time so technically speaking a fast weapon isn't a straight up damage increase with this it's just more likely to hit closer to the reset frames due to general attack speed and so you'll have more of these procs over the duration of a hunt as a result of that all that to say again I would expect anywhere from a 3 to 4 1/2%
            • 04:30 - 05:00 increase to your total damage from the skill but it actually goes up in value the longer your hunts are the more time you spend between your attacks the more time you spend repositioning because the less frequently you hit the monster the larger percent of your damage will come from this skill and because it is flat damage as well the lower your damage in your build the lower the damage numbers that you get from your hits because maybe you're building for comfort skills or utility instead of just full-on attack the larger percent of your overall damage white flame torrent will
            • 05:00 - 05:30 end up being where it currently sits I'd say it's good enough for most players but where it really shines is in builds that aren't already full of attack skills because it doesn't scale with your attack it doesn't scale with element it doesn't scale with crits it's its entirely own damage number so the more utility you have the more damage you will get from the skill relatively speaking all that to say let's increase the Ardian weapon effective raw by 4.3% for that two ranks of crit boost and then comparatively let's also increase the Zoia weapon effective raw by 3% for
            • 05:30 - 06:00 the low end of the skills value up to 4.5% for the high end which is why we've got two numbers here with this comparison you can see that a low end of RNG and value from White Flame Torrent when factored into the offensive potential of Zosia weapons in general is about 3 12% less damage than a perfectly rolled Ardian weapon with Crypus 2 in that final slot whereas a high uptime faster attacking weapon highend of White Flame Torrent's value is around a 2% damage loss over a perfectly rolled Ardian weapon which is very marginal the
            • 06:00 - 06:30 point here is to say on the whole in general a 100% perfect Ardian weapon is only slightly better than a Zoia weapon in an optimal damage build but the margin is small enough to say if you just want to look at something other than green metal you're not losing much by swapping to these weapons in fact for any weapon that would normally only get three attack boost reinforcements so instead of 225 attack you'd be at 220 attack 5% base affinity and white sharpness it would be pretty much exactly identical to the Zosia weapons until you get to the slot and skill
            • 06:30 - 07:00 discussion and when plugging in those same numbers to the earlier comparison a four out of five correctly rolled Ardian weapon is essentially equal to most Zosia weapons so especially if you are someone who doesn't even have a five out of five perfectly reinforced Ardian weapon you can absolutely justify using a Zosia weapon at least depending a little bit on your specific weapon type which we'll go through in a moment but it's also worth mentioning of course that using a Zosia weapon locks you off of statuses or any element that isn't dragon so this is mostly considering it and comparing it in situations where raw
            • 07:00 - 07:30 damage is your main focus because obviously paralysis and blast have their own sort of utility moving on to specific weapons then for greatsword with three three slots you are generally going to run crit boost three focus three with some sort of bonus skill and then either crit boost two to finish it off or offensive guard if you're trying to work in that cheeky attack boost in the world that you're playing around offensive guard it's definitely not better to go Zoshia but if you are someone who was at running a crit boost 2 in that slot it's at least a consideration the negative here is that greatsword is one of the least
            • 07:30 - 08:00 frequently hitting weapons and that makes it less good at frequently applying the white flame torrent damage bonus to the point that I'd say that you will get it with this weapon once every 9 to 12 seconds on average whereas other faster weapons mostly I'd say 6 to 9 seconds dependent that said no matter what if your hunts go long enough because the way that this skill works it will eventually overtake the value of a full Ardian weapon so essentially it requires you to look in the mirror and evaluate your own hunts if your hunts with Ardian weapons are longer than you
            • 08:00 - 08:30 believe to be average then you would gain more damage than average relatively from the Zosia weapon skill for greatsword I'd say it's worth similar value to a three attack reinforcement weapon maybe a touch less but that depends on play style and RNG moving on to long sword and generally at least for a more raw focused RDN setup long swords are running crit boost three crit boost 2 and some form of sharpness management decoration this means for this weapon you'd probably be losing crit boost 2 and you are replacing it with white flame torrent this sticks quite
            • 08:30 - 09:00 generically to our earlier considerations as it is a fast and consistent attacking weapon with no particularly notable attacks that seem to not trigger the effect so I would say that this is a clear equivalent to a three attack reinforcement Ardian weapon sword and shield this gets a little bit more complex because Sword and Shield generally runs crit boost three offensive guard 3 and then either sharpness management or crit boost 2 depending you can get crit boost 3 and offensive guard on Zosia sword and shield but I find the sharpness is a little bit less than comfortable if you do that not unplayable but I do find
            • 09:00 - 09:30 that I have to sharpen during the fight occasionally which isn't ideal offensive guard especially for Sword and Shield is worth way too much value to even consider dropping and Krypus 3 is quite literally 50% more value than Krypus 2 so you are losing a lot more on Sword and Shield to swap from Ardian to Zosia but it's also one of the most consistent White Flame Torrent procking uptime weapons so overall I'd say this is relatively equivalent to a two attack rolled Ardian Sword and Shield just
            • 09:30 - 10:00 because the slots are a bigger issue for this weapon type than most dual blades the common Ardian decoration choices are cry boost three some form of sharpness management and then either cry boost 2 or power prolonger with a bonus skill depending on your play style this means that you are probably replacing either cry boost 2 or power prolonger cry boost 2 is fine power prolonger would be a fair bit of comfort loss if it's something that you're used to playing with but the value of that is really up to the player that said you definitely still need sharpness management and crypto boost 3 is high value so that's what your likely trade-off would be that
            • 10:00 - 10:30 said I'd say this is fairly equivalent to a three attack rolled reinforcement Ardian dual blades as you don't have anything quite to the level of offensive guard to consider in your slots and this is an extremely consistently hitting weapon which makes it great for the white flame torrent skill in general too moving on to hammer generally speaking the Ardian weapon decoration choices are crit boost three crit boost 2 and then either focus three or sharpness management personally I'm a big fan of focus myself especially as you can combo it with a handiccraft but sharpness is
            • 10:30 - 11:00 always a factor so let's say this is a weapon that you would be trading crit boost 2 for white flame torrent with as you could keep the other skills doing this would put it at a very similar value to great swords comparisons so I'd call Zosia hammer a near equivalent to a three attack reinforced Ardian weapon for hunting horn this gets a lot more complex as we have the melody set to consider too and first this hunting horn is gorgeous like I just want to use it because of how it looks and nothing else it's super funky ardian horns were mostly only used for element more than
            • 11:00 - 11:30 anything as far as pure damage so there's not a huge comparison there but it definitely doesn't overtake any dragon horns because it doesn't have echo wave dragon compared to the arkfeld horn it doesn't overtake any mainstay healing horns because it while it does have the health regeneration echo bubble feature it doesn't have any actual main healing songs but it does get defense up large attack defense up small echo wave blunt which is great for KO/ stun and then also exhaust buildup and offset melody as the special is pretty good too so this is sort of like a jack-of
            • 11:30 - 12:00 alltrades hunting horn with relatively decent offensive stats on it too it buffs offense and defense it offers some region over time from the bubbles if you stand in them and it has the offset melody horn is one of the only weapons where I won't say it's straight up better or worse than anything so much as it just provides a new melody set on a weapon that has pretty good stats otherwise and of course looks gorgeous then we have lance and this is another offensive guard weapon and offensive guard is such a massive amount of value but there's a pretty solid amount of white sharpness on Zosia lance so I'd
            • 12:00 - 12:30 say you can definitely slot in offensive guard three then three ranks of crit boost with your other slots and then be pretty satisfied you won't have any ranks of guards so you do need to hit the perfect guards and counters you won't have guard up either for the biggest attacks but in a comparison to a straightup damage setup which would gain either sharpness management or crypto boosters 2 instead this is totally viable i'd again say that Zosia Lance sticks to the general rule of being relatively equivalent value to an Ardian lance with three attack reinforcement roles especially as this is a weapon
            • 12:30 - 13:00 with frequent consistent attacks then we have gunlance where things get funky as the best gun lances aren't even Ardian weapons and specifically we are mostly going to be comparing to the queric gunlance as the otherwise best normal type gunlance and the guardian archvelt gunlance as just the generally best gunlance as far as quemetries outside of the element change from fire to dragon this is a straightup offensive gain to go to zosia you lose three ranks of guard but I find guard not overly necessary for gunlance because of the perfect guard reload interaction and you
            • 13:00 - 13:30 gain white flame torrent in exchange that said shelling with gunlance doesn't trigger white flame torrent only weapon hits so you will probably have the lowest activation rate barring maybe greatsword depending on the specific combo that your build and play style works around if it involves weapon hits at least semifrequently if you aren't just a full shelling focus then this is just a pure damage increase over qumetries at the cost of a bit of comfort and utility as for the guardian archved comparison the Zosia gunlance will be best played with more of a full
            • 13:30 - 14:00 burst combo play style focusing on unloading your full pile of shells as frequently and consistently as you can whereas Guardian Arcel Gunlance can play any of the most efficient Gunlance combos and be relatively as successful but is usually worked around the wormstake full blast that said in general going for a burst fire style of gameplay with melee hits involved this should outdo Guardian Artfeld Gunlands for that specific combo but it will be relatively equivalent if you play the strongest combos of both weapons and it will depend mostly on your preference of
            • 14:00 - 14:30 play style in other words I can't say one is really directly better than the other but it is more than viable if you do like the Zosia gunlance after that is switch and this is surprisingly standard for a weapon that often isn't generally speaking RDN switch would run crit boost 3 power prolonger 3 and then either sharpness management or the remaining cry boost 2 sharpness is actually more than fine on the Zosia switch so you're essentially saying crit boost 2 or white flame torrent which we went over the math for earlier that said the sort of
            • 14:30 - 15:00 meta play style for switch is spamming full release slash as often as possible which means a lot of not hitting the monster time and likely this weapon will see less procs from white flame torrent than most weapons will as a result it's definitely still good especially if you don't just exclusively use full release slash but I'd say this is one of the lower proc rate weapon potentials as a result I'd say it's most equivalent to a two attack reinforcement RDN weapon but still totally usable and again it gets better the longer your hunts are or the
            • 15:00 - 15:30 less optimized for pure damage the rest of your build is too then we have chargade and this is one of the best ones for taking advantage of white flame torrent because it can trigger from the savage axe mode bonus ticks which means that you actually have a decently high chance of hitting the monster and triggering the bonus very close to the internal cooldown rate as savage act tick frequency is incredibly high as well based on normal chargade decoration choices and an ardian weapon you'd probably be exchanging crit boost 2 for white flame torrent as the sharpness on the chargade is quite meaty overall with
            • 15:30 - 16:00 these considerations chargeblade is pretty equivalent to a three attack reinforcement RDN weapon for most players moving on to insectclave most common Ardian weapon setups use cry boost 3 cry boost 2 and some sort of sharpness management and insectlave is a very interesting weapon type here because I'd argue it's at the perfect point of white sharpness for the zosia for an insectlave where you might want more sharpness or maybe not depending on how you play the combos you prefer and if you choose to run this using
            • 16:00 - 16:30 sharpness management in some of the slots it'll end up being relatively equivalent to our earlier entries probably right around the uh equal to a three attack reinforcement arian insect glaive but because it is on that edge if you find it comfortable to not use sharp dismanagement on the Zosia insect glaive you can run crit boost five within this across the slots and still have one extra decoration slot for something tiny to add on top two like an attack boost one and if you do that it's actually only very very slightly less value than a four attack reinforcement Ardian
            • 16:30 - 17:00 Insectlave which makes it very much top tier especially for this weapon especially as insectlave attacks frequently enough to keep constant procs on the white flame torrent effect then we get to bow guns which are funky as they have ammo considerations as well zoia light bow gun is built a bit for spread ammo which no one really wants to use sticky ammo which isn't in a great spot in Wild and then it's okay at fire ammo thunder ammo and dragon ammo but generally not better at any of those than their Ardian elemental equivalents especially as on Ardian weapons you
            • 17:00 - 17:30 would roll for capacity boost as a reinforcement and get larger ammo capacity per reload than any of the base ammo types have on this except for spread so essentially if you want to use spread then the light bow gun's a maybe but no one is really trying to use spread light bow gun right now for heavy bow gun it's pretty much cluster bomb focus then fire ammo thunder ammo and some dragon ammo like the light bow gun but lower capacity and damage than you can reach with an Ardian heavy bow gun so again this is just sort of worse especially as the only place that this maybe shines is against anything that
            • 17:30 - 18:00 swaps between being fireweak and thunderweak but you could deal with that way better by just having a fire bow gun and a thunder art bow gun and then swapping between them so for both bow guns I'd say that the Zosia weapons aren't great then finally we have the bow and before we even make the regular comparisons the Zosia bow can only have power and poison coating so no close-range coating which immediately makes it 10% lower damage potential than the current best bows on top of that bows have very specifically important use of their decoration slots normally
            • 18:00 - 18:30 so you lose a lot more from the socket drop loss down from Ardian as well while white flame torrent can trigger off of most attacks it doesn't work with thousand dragons arcshot or specifically dragon piercer which is actually pretty often used for bow or at least it was used a lot before the update that said guardian to shag him up bow is better for pure raw than water and fire guardian which can get close-range coating are better for anything that is water or fire weak at all and this bow is usable the zosia bow it's not like absolute trash by any means but it's
            • 18:30 - 19:00 definitely not a meta contender as it currently stands outside of that I should also quickly go over the Misitsune weapons these aren't great in general for the most part their actual weapon skill doesn't give you a whole lot it gives you at maximum 30% affinity if you have minor bubble blight and also are wet which is something that you can only really be consistently in the scarlet forest it's harder to do in other maps so let's say generally speaking this will give you 20% affinity and only if you're running for set misitsune armor because you need to run for set to have the set bonus active
            • 19:00 - 19:30 which means you need to run the foreset armor to have the weapon skill active properly so because of that this is pretty much just blown out of the water immediately by most of the other ways of playing the game the misitsune weapons aren't good unless you make an entire play style around them which uses worse armor than standard builds so I just don't recommend them if you're looking for damage of course use them if you like them but if you're looking for effectiveness visitsune weapons are not where it's at that pretty much does it for today then everyone a deeper comparison mostly between Zosia weapons and weapons or whatever the top weapon
            • 19:30 - 20:00 was for your weapon type before title update 1 i played all of the weapons myself of course some more than others so hopefully my understanding is enough to properly represent each weapon but of course if any mains of those weapon types see any flaws in my logic feel free to let me know in the comments down below overall these Zosia weapons are generally competitive with Ardian weapons even being better than most roles that you can get on Ardian weapons unless you get them perfect just not quite overtaking those perfect ones as a result so if you like Zosia weapons use
