Chapters
00:00 - 00:30: Introduction to Army Slots The chapter 'Introduction to Army Slots' from the Warcraft Rumble guide by Old Guardian covers the fundamental aspects of army slots in the game. It explains what army slots are, the significance of special army slots, and the methods to acquire them. Additionally, it discusses the interaction between leaders and minis regarding slots, highlighting which leaders require special slots to buff specific minis and identifying leaders who derive maximum benefit from wild card and boost slots. The chapter is particularly useful for new players keen on understanding the pivotal role of army slots in gameplay.
00:30 - 01:30: Unlocking and Upgrading Army Slots The chapter discusses strategies for unlocking and upgrading army slots in a game context. It emphasizes the importance of completing dungeons to unlock 'golden army slots' for leaders, which provide a bonus of +3 levels to matching units. Additionally, it mentions further upgrading possibilities through valor earned from sieges and raids, which can enhance slots to 'diamond slots' that offer a +4 level bonus. Special army slots can also be obtained, with each leader having three fixed slots.
01:30 - 03:00: Special Army Slots: Diamond, Boost, and Wild Card The chapter discusses special army slots in games, specifically focusing on the functioning and strategy around re-rollable slots located in the bottom row. Initially, the choice for these slots is not critical as they can be re-rolled. Players are advised to choose slots with broad applications such as elemental, ranged, or cycle slots. Re-rolling these slots costs 50 arc energy each time and is necessary to adapt to the current arm you are playing. The chapter also introduces unique slot types, like the diamond slots, which are distinct from the standard bonus armor slots obtained in dungeons.
03:00 - 05:00: Rerollable Slots and Leader Limitations The chapter discusses the concept of rerollable slots and leader limitations, focusing on diamond card slots that offer a significant advantage of plus four levels. These slots, including boo and wild card slots, require an upgrade costing 200 valor each and must be upgraded individually for every leader. Valor can be earned through siege and molten core activities. Fully upgrading all leaders to diamond status is a lengthy process, projected to take over a year, but the upgrades are highly beneficial due to their powerful enhancements.
05:00 - 09:00: Leader Specific Buffing Abilities The chapter discusses the mechanics of leader-specific buffing abilities in a game context, focusing on the rewards obtained from defeating specific bosses. Players receive various slots as rewards, such as the wild card slot from defeating the third boss in a normal siege and the boost slot from the first wing of the normal molten core. These slots can be assigned to any leader the player owns, but each leader is limited to one wild card slot (top right) and one boost slot (bottom right). The positioning of these slots is fixed and cannot be changed.
09:00 - 12:00: Recommended Leaders for Boost and Wild Card Slots The chapter discusses the capabilities and limitations of leaders in choosing minis for the bottom row slots. Initially, all original leaders had 11 potential options, but each leader had three unavailable choices, allowing for eight valid options. Newly introduced leaders, such as Ptor and Artist Ragnaros, have special slots that offer different functionalities. Additionally, split leaders can access both family slots, and Talos has acquired a new life slot.
12:00 - 12:30: Conclusion and Gameplay Tips This chapter, 'Conclusion and Gameplay Tips,' provides insights into the mechanics of rerolling slots in a game, mentioning that currently, no minis fit into the specified steel slot. During rerolls, players are presented with all potential options for their leader that aren't equipped yet, ensuring traits in the bottom row remain unique. The section notes specific details about the leader, Jana Proudmore, highlighting her fixed slots and her limitations, such as not being able to obtain certain buffs like 'cycle faster' or 'ranged.'
The Complete Guide to Army Slots: Best Leaders for Wildcard Slot and Boost Slot Warcraft Rumble 2025 Transcription
00:00 - 00:30 Hello everyone, it's Old Guardian here. In this Warcraft Rumble guide video, I'm going to tell you everything you want to know about army slots. We're going to go through all of the basics like what are these, what are the special army slots, how do you get them, and also into what leaders cannot buff which minis without some special arm slots, and which leaders benefit the most from wild card and boost slots. So, let's get started. If you're new to the game, the army slots are super important. They are leader specific and they are earned from
00:30 - 01:00 completing dungeons. So as soon as you unlock dungeons, you really want to run dungeons as much as possible. Because once you clear a dungeon level 22 with a leader, then for that leader, you will have full golden army slots. And that means plus three levels to matching minis in every single slot, and that's a lot. You can then further upgrade this later on. You can get valor for diamond slots that will give you plus four levels from sieges and raids. And there are some special arm slots that you can earn as well. Each leader has three fixed slots, the top row, and then three
01:00 - 01:30 re-rollable slots, the bottom row. What you choose for the bottom row at the start doesn't really matter. You can always reroll them. You kind of want to take slots with wide application like elemental or ranged or cycle. There are lots of lots of med that fit those slots, but you can just reroll them and you will reroll them eventually in order to fit whatever arm you're currently playing. The rerolls themselves cost 50 arc energy. In addition to regular bonus armor slots, the golden ones that you get from dungeons, there are a couple of special ones. There's the diamond slots
01:30 - 02:00 I already referred to, which are these diamond card ones that are going to give plus four levels. There's a boo slot and this wild card slot. Diamond slots cost 200 valor each. And you need to upgrade every slot separately for every single leader. You earn valor from siege and from molten core. Overall, getting every one of your leaders up to full diamond is going to take more than a year. So, it's a pretty long process, but you still want to be upgrading this when you whenever you need those levels because they are also super powerful. White card
02:00 - 02:30 slot is the reward for beating the third boss in normal siege, and boost slot is the reward for beating the first wing of normal molten core. You can choose the leader for these special slots. Like you can beat the boss in siege with any leader and then you get to choose from all of the leaders that you own which one is going to get the wild card slot. Each leader can have only one wild card slot and only one boost slot. And the wild card slot is always top right one and the boost slot is always the bottom right one. You can't put them into any other place. As for the rrollable slots
02:30 - 03:00 in the bottom row, not all leaders can buff all minis. The original leaders always had 11 options for the bottom row slots. So there's the family, then cycle, elemental, fast, flying, range, siege, damage, spell, squad, tank, and unbound. And each leader had three options that were unavailable. So they all had eight valid options for the bottom row. It has now changed a little bit with newer leaders. Ptor and artist Ragnaros have some special slots. Split leaders have both family slots available. And now Talos also has a life
03:00 - 03:30 steel slot for which at the moment of making this video there are no minis that actually fit it. When you reroll a slot, you're offered all of the valid options for that leader that you currently have not equipped. You cannot have the same trait in two slots at the same time on the bottom row. So you will always be offered unique options. And then a quick look through the leaders themselves. So Jana Proudmore, the fixed slots are alliance, alliance and spell. And Jana cannot get cycle faster or ranged which means that Jana cannot buff
03:30 - 04:00 Banshee dark spear troll and dry unless Jana has wild card slot. May have shadow song has alliance alliance and unbound and may have cannot get elemental range or squad. So Mayv has a long list of minis that may cannot buff. Although this doesn't really matter to Mayv nearly as much as for many other leaders because Mayv is heavily focused on those unborn minis. So you typically just use unborn minis a lot with Mayv anyway. So even though you cannot buff Banshee, dark spear, druid of the glow of fire, hammer, flame waker, frostwolf, shaman,
04:00 - 04:30 moon, necromancer, ogre, mage, pyromancer, or triant, then actually may is typically still fine. Tyrion for ringing has alliance, alliance, and tank and cannot get elemental fast or tank in the bottom row. So Tyrion cannot buff the headless horsemen. Artus as an undead alliance split leader has undead alliance and elemental in top row. Arts cannot get fast elemental siege damage or tank. But Artus also has melee as an option that most leaders do not have, which means that artists can buff almost all minis. Only swall troll without
04:30 - 05:00 meteor elbow is something that artists cannot buff. Malfurion storm rage has senarian alliance and tank. Malfurion can't get fast siege damage or tank, but malfurion can buff every mini in the game. Need has hoorde, horde, and siege damage and cannot get elemental siege damage or tank. Many of these horde leaders cannot get the tank slot and that typically gives them some weaknesses. For example, forneeed cannot buff abomination, ancient of war, bobe beast, fire elemental, null brute unless it's private and harvest golem. Similar
05:00 - 05:30 story with K ho horde ranged and cannot get ranged tank or unbounded bottom row. So cannot buff abomination ancient of four book beast brute unless it's rabbit again harvest golem and again. And this repeats again with chromos which is why horde was originally like the weakest family because none of the horde leaders could buff big tanks. So chromos horde horde squad cannot get elemental seed saur tank. So cannot buff abomination ancient of four book beast fire elemental nor brute unless rapid harvest
05:30 - 06:00 golem or molten giant. And this applies even to a crim doom hammer horde black rock squad can't get siege damage squad or tank so cannot buff abomination ancient of war beast null brute unless it's rapid and harvest golem ren blackhand on the other hand has a different weakness rent has black rock black rock and flying and cannot get fast spell or siege damage and because ren cannot get a spell slot that means that ren cannot buff cheat death execute or polymorph those some pretty important
06:00 - 06:30 important minis there and that's why rend is typically pretty good for wild cards. Ragnos also cannot get a spell slot. Ragnaros has black rockck, black rockck armored and can't get cycle spell or squad. Ragnaros has that armored slot that none of the other leaders have, but Renos cannot buff cheat death, defas bandits, execute and polymorph. General Draisat typically tanks for himself, but he cannot get another big tank. black rock, black rock and elemental slots and cannot get siege damage squad or tank which means that general draisat cannot
06:30 - 07:00 buff abomination ancient of war bobe beast null brut on a strapid harvest column footman mountaineer stone hoof torren swall troll tree and then wars on grunt so that's pretty much almost all of the tanks apart from the molten giant of course which is a black rockck mini emperor to has some pretty sweet slots black rock black rockck melee he cannot get cycle elemental fast siege damage or unbound. But in return, he has melee and AoE that most others do not have, which means that Emperor Torisan can actually
07:00 - 07:30 buff all minis. And Revenger is another one of these leaders that cannot get all of those big tanks. Undead, undead, unbound. Obviously, abomination is an undead tank, but cannot get ranged tank or unbound slots, which means that he cannot buff ancient of war, book beast, dark speid, harvest golem, or stone hoof torin. Blood mage talons has undeed under spell and cannot get flying range so siege damage. Blood mage talons also has a life steal slot but currently there are no minis that actually fit into that slot so it does nothing and
07:30 - 08:00 blood stance cannot buff dark spear troll. Sylvanas windrunner has a distinct weakness with army slots because silylvanas can't get elemental or ranged which means that all of these ranged elemental minis are out of her reach. She has undead, undead, and horde. Can't get elemental range or siege damage. So she cannot buff D of the claw. Fire hammer, flame waker, moonin, and pyromancer. Anubarak is another leader that's missing the spell slot. He has undead, beast, and cycle. Can't get cycles each damage or spell.
08:00 - 08:30 Luckily, undead and beast already open up quite a few spells for Anubarak, but Anubarak cannot buff execute. Scenarios can buff all minis. Senarian, scenario, and tank can't get fast siege damage or tank, but that doesn't matter. can still buff everybody. Oo also has a pretty good slot selection. Senarian scenarian ranged. Can't get elemental range or unbound. So cannot buff organ and can again buff everybody scenarian scenarian cycle. Can't get cycle elemental siege damage but can still buff everyone. Old Merky has beast, beast and tank. Can't
08:30 - 09:00 get range squad or tank. So cannot buff Banshee dark spe or triant. Chago has beast, beast and fast. Cannot get fast siege damage or squad. So cannot buff tant. Then again that fast slot is sometimes quite useless because there are not that many fast minis in the game. And finally we have hoger beast beast and cycle cannot get elemental siege damage over tank. So hoger yet another one of these leaders that can't buff the tank minis can't buff abomination ancient of war bo beast fire elemental harvest golem molten giant
09:00 - 09:30 stone hoof torren and swole troll. So who should you upgrade? You want to upgrade leaders that you need for progress with boost slots. So further wings in molten core, Onyxia with leaders like Artus, Traiset, Jana. So when you get your first boost slot, think about the immediate progress. You're getting it at the end of wing one from Molten Core. Which leader do you want to buff so that you get as far into Molten Core on your first try as possible and later on then think about further bosses making them easier, beating Onyxia, upgrading your PvP
09:30 - 10:00 armies. As for wild cards, leaders who are unable to buff important minis or leaders who have a meta deck that you really don't need their fixed slot for and you want to use something else. And then diamonds, use them on the bottom row or wild card for flexibility. Diamond together with boost is very very strong because it gives the mini level 28 which is level 10 in PvP. Overall, diamond is very important for PvP armies and then in some some specific cases for PvE. So here is my current top 10
10:00 - 10:30 leaders to buff with a boost slot. My number one would still be Jana. Jana is just so incredibly flexible. You can always play Jana in any kind of content. So boo's always good on Jana. Artist. Artist is the latest leader and very very powerful. So boo slot adding to that power obviously very good choice. General Draisat one of the strongest leaders as well. Still pretty decent leader against Onixia even though is even better. Rent Blackhand if you think about the Ghetdon fight for example and
10:30 - 11:00 if you want some levels on Ren's minis to be able to get through Gdon more easily. Emperor Torisan especially with Wargan against Ragnar. Malfurion Sylvanas Orrim all pretty flexible strong leaders. Sylvanas is also good against Gdon and their booot is really useful. User also very strong against Gulmak for example. Booot really helps there. Ragnaros the best leader actually against Gheton. But of course, you won't have Ragnaros for your first boole because you haven't unlocked it yet. But still, Ragnaros definitely
11:00 - 11:30 another contender. As for the wild card slot, here's my current top 10. Rend just that inability to use spells really hurts Rend sometimes. Or Grim just can't use tanks, has squad slot, which is pretty poor. So very high candidate. Artus, even though Artis has elemental slot, which is pretty good. Then more flexibility especially for PvP where there are lots of different builds for others. Romat slot is again weak tank slot really helps. Anubarak using the
11:30 - 12:00 execute. Ragnaros getting those spells unlocked. Charger getting rid of the fast slot. Malfurion sometimes you just don't need that many tank slots. Baron revener. Sometimes you just don't want the unbounds and snee just getting those tank slots available. So this would be my top 10 leaders for wild card slot. So that's it. A quick overview of the army slots in Warcraft Rumble, how to get them, which ones to upgrade first, just the complete package. And if you're
12:00 - 12:30 starting this game, then really, really do your dungeons because these levels from these slots are super important. Thank you for watching. Click like and subscribe if you enjoyed this.
