Chapters
00:00 - 00:30: Introduction to Crusader Kings 3 - Cons of the Step The chapter titled 'Introduction to Crusader Kings 3 - Cons of the Step' by Potato McWisky begins with the host welcoming viewers to the game Crusader Kings 3. The focus of today's session is playing the 'Cons of the Step' scenario, which centers around being a horse lord in the expansive great plains. The session will start in the mountains of Kenti, which is depicted as a herder realm. Herders in the game are described as unplayable characters who are primarily responsible for tending to the land. However, the goal is to create a unique ruler for the gameplay session.
00:30 - 01:00: Creating a New Ruler - Drogo of the Cal Dynasty In the chapter 'Creating a New Ruler - Drogo of the Cal Dynasty,' we are introduced to the character Drogo, a conniving puppet master from the Cal Dynasty. His skills are reflected in his diplomacy and intrigue, which will be advantageous in the game setting. Diplomacy allows Drogo to interact effectively with other characters, while his high intrigue enhances his scheming capabilities, assisting in leveling up these skills. This increase in skill makes Drogo more likely to persuade agents to join his schemes, highlighting the importance of his strategic abilities.
01:00 - 01:30: Character Traits of Drogo This chapter delves into the character traits of Drogo, highlighting his bravery, which enhances his marshall skills and prowess but increases the risk of dying in battle. It emphasizes the importance of being cautious until an heir is secured. Drogo's vengeful nature boosts his intrigue and prowess but reduces his diplomacy, allowing him to become a tyrant due to increased dread, particularly benefiting from his nomadic lifestyle. Additionally, his wrathfulness impacts his diplomacy and intrigue negatively while enhancing his marshall skills.
01:30 - 02:30: Gameplay Mechanics: Fertility, Seasons, and Migration The chapter discusses the selection of a character named Shepherd Drogo of Kenti in a game. The character is highlighted for his diverse skill set with strengths in diplomacy, learning, martial ability, prowess, and particularly intrigue. His military score gives him an inherent level of dread, contributing to his power. Importantly, Drogo does not have a player heir, and choosing him transforms the player into a nomadic ruler. The narrative promises that the significance of Drogo's intrigue will be revealed later. Moving forward, the discussion points towards important gameplay mechanics like county fertility and the impact of seasons.
02:30 - 03:30: The Art of Stealing Herd The chapter "The Art of Stealing Herd" delves into the game mechanic of county fertility in the nomadic horde factions gameplay. It explains how fertility levels in a domain determine the amount of herd that can be extracted from the land. A higher fertility translates into more herd generation, evidenced by a fertility score of 15 in the domain, which is directly converted into herd resources like horses. The chapter also touches on managing herd limits within the game, suggesting that current herd levels are above the game's prescribed limit, though it notes that this is not a significant issue at present.
03:30 - 04:30: Building a Family and Increasing Fertility This chapter discusses the strategic importance of a special location called Burkhan Calun, which provides various advantages such as fort level defender advantage and county fertility growth, particularly in mountain terrains. It also contributes to increasing piety and renown. The speaker mentions a plan to move around the map to explore other areas of higher fertility, which indicates how much resource can be harvested from the land. The movement between provinces also allows certain areas to recover fertility over time.
04:30 - 05:30: Focusing on Intrigue and Schemes This chapter delves into the dynamics of different types of rulers and their impact on the fertility and prosperity of the land they govern. It discusses the roles of chieftains who deplete resources and shepherds who allow the land to flourish, highlighting the varying approaches based on the leaders' status and power. Additionally, the chapter touches on the characteristics of nomadic realms and their capabilities, such as migration, contrasting them with more settled or structured forms of governance.
05:30 - 06:30: Strategy and Expansion - Moving to Higher Fertility Areas The chapter discusses the geography and climatic conditions of the step, which is divided into three sections: eastern, central, and western. Each section experiences different weather patterns that influence fertility and resources. Presently, the eastern step is experiencing an 'everlasting summer' that significantly enhances fertility, supply limits, and positively affects the opinion of vassals and the condition of their herds. The focus is on leveraging these natural benefits for strategic and expansion purposes.
06:30 - 07:30: Tributary Relationships and Combating Rivals The chapter discusses the seasonal challenges of a cold zud or a hazarren zud impacting fertility and consumption. It introduces a character, the stargazer, who provides predictions based on celestial observations. The chapter transitions into strategic plans, focusing on 'stealing herd' as a way to gain advantage. It mentions a high chieftain named Udavali, who is loyal to the Kirus cannon, with the narrator considering swearing loyalty as well. The concept of being or becoming a tributary is deliberated, suggesting shifts in alliances and power dynamics within the narrative.
07:30 - 08:30: Establishing Dominance and Upgrading Status The chapter "Establishing Dominance and Upgrading Status" discusses strategies for a minor lord to protect his domain and increase his influence. The lord contemplates submission to a powerful figure, referred to as 'susan', in exchange for protection. The decision to submit is fueled by the desire to ensure safety and stability in his own reign. Moreover, the chapter highlights the intrigue and ambition involved in such political maneuvers, specifically mentioning tactics like stealing herds to climb the ladder of dominance. The focus is on strengthening one's position in the steppe through calculated risks and alliances.
08:30 - 09:30: Further Expansion and Encountering Challenges The chapter explores the early stages of a nomadic group's journey towards achieving greater power and flexibility. Initially labeled as 'unruly nomads', their current restrictions include limited vassalage and domain control. The goal is to advance through different levels of dominance, starting with 'absolute dominance' and ultimately reaching 'unrestricted dominance'. The narrator hints at a strategic plan to progress, though the extent of success within the current timeframe remains uncertain.
09:30 - 10:30: Enhancing the Nomadic Capital and Building Infrastructure In this chapter, the focus is on enhancing the nomadic capital and building infrastructure, particularly through forging strategic alliances. The narrator considers marrying a Mongolian woman who is not only brave and beautiful but also has favorable traits such as comeliness, which enhances fertility, diplomacy, and attraction. This marriage is seen as a way to introduce positive traits into the bloodline. However, there is a concern about the potential decrease in legitimacy due to her low social status, which might negatively impact the narrator's short reign.
10:30 - 11:30: Strategic Movements and Long-Term Plans In this chapter, the focus is on building strategic alliances and strengthening the protagonist's status as a leader by accepting a marriage proposal to increase legitimacy. The protagonist also receives a herd of 187, which is crucial for increasing the number of soldiers available as a nomad. The importance of accumulating a larger herd is emphasized, alongside the plans to secure more concubines and develop the nomadic capital.
11:30 - 12:30: Execution of Schemes and Increasing Herd In this chapter, the focus is on executing plans and strategies to build power and influence. The primary objective is to win over the protagonist's wife to secure a fertility boost, essential for having numerous offspring and expanding influence. The narrative emphasizes the importance of taking the 'schemer' approach, which not only protects against enemy plots but also enhances the likelihood of successful schemes. This route is beneficial for gaining power, given the numerous rewarding tactics available within the 'schemer' path, such as increasing the success rate of hostile schemes.
12:30 - 13:30: Joining the Mongol Confederation and Its Benefits The chapter discusses the strategic advantages of joining the Mongol Confederation. It provides a 25% base chance and an additional 5% potential for success, making operations more effective. Enemies are less efficient against the confederation, making it harder for them to succeed against its courtiers. The ability to abduct people is highlighted as a key benefit for generating income and increasing the probability of imprisoning characters during raids. These captives can be ransomed, creating monetization opportunities. Furthermore, the confederation allows for multiple concurrent schemes, and with the schemer ability, all schemes are accelerated, significantly boosting strategic operations.
13:30 - 14:30: War, Migration, and Establishing a Kingdom The chapter discusses strategic choices in leadership related to war, migration, and establishing a kingdom. The focus is on fertility and building a legacy through descendants. The leader contemplates between different strategies—skull duggery vs. temptation focus—to either boost personal fertility for a quick succession of heirs or enhance dread and power through intimidation. Initially, a decision to embrace temptation focus for the first five years aims to rapidly increase the number of children, followed by integrating skills like 'weeds in a garden' to further boost fertility by 30%, ensuring the growth and sustainability of the dynasty.
14:30 - 15:00: Final Thoughts and Future Plans The chapter, titled "Final Thoughts and Future Plans," discusses strategies for recruiting courtiers and expanding a family dynasty. It highlights the importance of finding eligible brides to turn into concubines to increase the chances of having many children. The narrator is actively expanding the family with a pregnant wife, which ensures a high chance of offspring. Several individuals, such as Duckas, the honest, Katagan, and Chabby Silver Tongue, are mentioned as potential concubines, indicating a strategic thought process in building lineage and securing future plans.
The New Herd Stealing Mechanic in this Grand Strategy game is incredibly fun - Crusader Kings 3 Transcription
00:00 - 00:30 Hey buddies, Potato McWisky here and welcome to Crusader Kings 3. Today we're going to be playing Cons of the Step, which is all about being a horse lord in the great plains. And I think today we're going to be starting off all the way over here in the mountains of Kenti. There is this is a herder realm, which is basically just somebody who who doesn't really matter. And what we're going to do is we're going to pop in here. Uh herders are are essentially unplayable people who just tend land. We're going to create our own ruler
00:30 - 01:00 here. And so here is our character. His name is Drogo of the Cal Dynasty. He's a conniving puppet master. And that'll make sense later on once we actually get into the game. But this will give him a boost to his diplomacy, a boost to his intrigue. Diplomacy is used to interact with other other characters, and intrigue is used to do schemes. Better scheme potential is is quite useful here. and we'll be quite good at leveling up our diplomacy and intrigue lifestyles and more likely to get agents to accept part of our scheme. So, that's going to be important because we'd be
01:00 - 01:30 starting to steal a lot of cattle. Now, he is a brave man, so he does get a boost to his marshall and his prowess and people are generally attracted to him. However, he is more likely to die in battle. So, we do need to be careful, at least until we have an heir. He is vengeful, which will give him a boost to his intrigue and his prowess, although make him less diplomatic. He will gain more dread, which allows him to be a tyrant. And because he's a nomad, he actually can get up to 150 dread. So, this will help us reaching that dread limit. He's also wrathful, which will damage his diplomacy and intrigue, but give him a boost to his marshall, which
01:30 - 02:00 is your military score basically. And it will give him a baseline of natural dread to start out with, and it's going to make him quite powerful. I've also boosted his stats a little bit. He's got a little bit of diplomacy, a little bit of learning, a little bit of marshall, a little bit of prowess, but really good intrigue, and the intrigue will make sense later. So, this is our character right here. This is Shepherd Drogo of Kenti. Now, he does not have a player heir and we will turn into a nomadic ruler if we select him. So, we're going to go ahead and select him. Now, we have a few kind of gameplay mechanics that we need to talk about. We've got county fertility, we've got seasons, and we've
02:00 - 02:30 got migration. County fertility is a gameplay mechanic for the um nomadic horde factions. You can see here uh this domain has a fertility. The more fertility that this region has, the more herd that we can sort of suck out of the land. Here you can see the county fertility is at 15. It's slowly increasing and we are consuming 15. That 15 is getting turned into horses or well herd and then that herd is coming up over here. Of course, right now the game thinks we're above our herd limit, but that's that's fine for now. And there is
02:30 - 03:00 a special building here called the Burkhan Calun which gives fort level defender advantage. Popular opinion. It also gives county fertility growth in mountains terrain. We gain piety and renown for holding it. We will not uh we will eventually continue to hold this, but we want to spend a little bit of time moving around the map and stuff like that. So that's fertility. Fertility is basically like how much herd can you siphon out of this land. And as you move around the map, certain provinces will recover. If I if I go to the um transportation map here, you can see if I were to move over here, there's a much higher fertility. And uh there's
03:00 - 03:30 different types of rulers who can hold a piece of land. Like for example, this guy right here, he's a chieftain. So he's going to suck the fertility out of the land. Whereas a guy like, let me see if I can find an example here. This guy right here, he's a shepherd. So the fertility is going to go all the way back up to maximum because he's just like, he's just a local dude. He's not a real he's not a real lord. He's just kind of holding the land while there's no one of real power there. So you got to keep an eye out for nomadic realms and herder realms. We are a nomadic realm, so we can migrate. There's also this Everlast. There's also different
03:30 - 04:00 weathers. Um, so basically there's like three sections of the step. There's kind of like the eastern step, which is out here. You've got the central step which is like here and you've got the western step which is like over here. It's not exactly that but it's like imagine breaking it up into three chunks and each step has its own weather pattern. So for example the eastern step right now is having an everlasting summer which is giving a huge boost to fertility growth giving a big boost to supply limit and um a boost to the vassal opinion and vassal herd
04:00 - 04:30 contribution. Now the next season over here is likely to be either a cold zud or a hazarren zud. So cold zud is going to lower fertility and increase fertility consumption. yada yada yada. This is our stargazer. This is like our religious guy who like looks at the stars and says hey uh things are going to get better or worse. Now we've got quite a few things that we need to take care of. We want to start stealing herd. So if I come over here and look at this high chieftain who sort of Udavali. He swears filty to the Kirus cannon. Now I'm probably going to want to swear filty to them too. I think he's actually a tributary. No, I think he is actually
04:30 - 05:00 a minor lord there. So, I can submit to this susan with a meager tribute, right? And this would give me a lot of protection. So, I'm going to submit to this guy. He's the founder of my dentist or um well, this is me. Submitting to this guy keeps me safe. So, we will submit to him. Now, what we want to be doing is stuff like this steel herd. And this is why we went with the high intrigue because we wanted to be able to scoop up other people's herds to try and blitz our way up the ranks of dominance because your dominance in the step is in
05:00 - 05:30 almost entirely based on how big your herd of cattle is. Right now we are the lowest possible level of nomad, which is an unruly nomad, right? We can only have one vassel. We can only have one domain. We can't even imprison people. We we can only target counties for migration. What we want is to make our way all the way up to the absolute dominance and eventually unrestricted dominance. Now, I don't know how far I'll get in this video, but we'll see what we can do. I got a little strat strat brewing here.
05:30 - 06:00 So, we need to find ourselves a wife. Now, uh Mongolian here, the beautiful is brave. She would like me because we have pretty high relations. She's also comely, which would be nice. This is a nice congenital trait. Increases fertility, diplomacy, and attraction. Um not a bad trait to get into your bloodline. She also has really good stats. So, I tell you what, I'm going to go ahead and see if we can't get a little marriage here. Now, unfortunately, this is going to hurt my legitimacy because she's loworn, and low legitimacy is going to hurt my short reign. Yeah, it's generally just going
06:00 - 06:30 to hurt me, but we'll be able to build up our legitimacy. So, I'm going to go ahead and accept that marriage. We'll kind of give it a little unpause here. Okay, I have submitted and we got a marriage proposal. Excellent. So, now we have a wife. Now, I could befriend this guy or I could just gain his herd. He sent me 187 herd. I'm going to take those cuz remember the the amount of herd that you have also dictates how many soldiers you have as a nomad. So it's very very important that we can pump up our herd. Now we are also want going to want to get ourselves some concubines and stuff like that. And we do have a um a nomadic capital that we need to build up. It's not it's not our
06:30 - 07:00 priority right now. I think the first thing we want to do is to seduce our wife so that we can um make her fall in love with us and we have a nice fertility boost to have a lot of children. You got to have children to um to be powerful. Now I think we want to go down to schemer route here. Eventually an intimidation focus could be quite good. But the reason we want to go down schemer here is a it makes us resilient against enemy schemes but also increases our success chance in schemes which is quite useful. There's a lot of really good schemer stuff in here. Like initial initial hostile scheme success
07:00 - 07:30 chance 25% more success more potential. So we get 25 base chance and then another 5% potential. So quite useful. Then enemies are less efficient against us and it's harder to get people to uh succeed against our courtiers. We can abduct people which is really useful for making money and increases the chance of imprisoning characters during raids with the capture raid intent. So if we do some raiding we can you know get captives to to ransom. Then we can have multiple schemes going and with the schemer ability all of our schemes will be faster and we get a huge boost our
07:30 - 08:00 intrigue. Now the question is do we want to go skull dog refocus? We could go temptation focus to have children faster. Or we could go intimidation focused to get a huge boost to our dread. I think I'm going to go for skull duggery. Or maybe for the first five years of my rule, I might go for temptation focus to try and just maximize my fertility at the start of my role so that we can get children rolling really really fast. And then I'm going to hit like weeds in a garden to gain that 30% fertility just to boost up. Again, we want to have a lot of kids really fast if we can. Um, I'm going to
08:00 - 08:30 recruit some courtiers here. Yes, I'm spending some herd. But if we seek eligible brides, uh, or hunters or whatever, we could we could recruit a bunch of stuff. But if we seek eligible brides, these are people we can turn into concubines and have a lot of kids. So, we got Duckas, the honest. My wife is already pregnant, which is perfect. Perfect. High chance of children with this concubine. Boom. Katagan as well. We can make her into her concubine. Boom. and Chabby Silver Tongue, we can
08:30 - 09:00 also make her into a concubine. So, it cost us a little bit of that, but now that we have concubines, our chance of having children is really high. So, we're going to be able to create a huge family with a lot of descendants. And then we're going to try and get them land. I apologize that my voice is a little horse. Now, I believe we also get a prestige boost for having concubines. You usually get something for having concubines. So, we have a 95% chance of seducing our wife. And uh boom, we have seduced her. I think I hope. Now, the other great thing is um I should have a
09:00 - 09:30 good relationship with my concubines as long as I keep them happy. But they can also act as my spy master. So, Chabby Silver Tongue here, who is the father of potentially some of my children, she has 16 intrigue. So, I'm going to make her my spy master, and she'll be focused on disrupting schemes. Eventually, she might support my schemes, but right now, disrupt. There's some really good fertility right over here. So, I'm going to go ahead and migrate to this 78 tile. This will actually move our capital and our realm slowly over time. See? He zip, zip, zip, zip, zip. We zip all the way over here. So, we're going to respect
09:30 - 10:00 the customs of the land and become a nomadic tributary of another player. And so, now that we're settled in a piece of land that has higher fertility over here, um, you can see the county fertility is 92. Now, we're getting like 23 herd per month. Now, we do have a a bit of tax that we have to pay to our tributary. That's not a big deal. Eventually, we will be the big fish. Right now, what we want to look for are people who are on the similar power level as us, right? This guy. and steal herd from them. So, the predicted difficulty here is easy. So, let's see
10:00 - 10:30 if we can go for a a large amount of herd. So, there's uh different kinds of agents we can put in here. Thieves will increase the success chance. Infiltrators will make it happen faster. So, I definitely want the spy master in here as they should accept, right? And now it'll only take 10 days and I think 10 days is the minimum. Secrecy is the chance that it will get out that I am doing this. So, if I get my wife to help me with the secrecy, now we've only got we've got a 71% chance that they won't figure out that we did this. And now we
10:30 - 11:00 can start adding agents to bring the success up. And I think the success you can you can bring up to is 95%. But now we should have a really good chance to steal a herd from this guy. And every 10 days, the success chance will go up. And we just need to get a certain number of advantages in this scheme. And bish bash bosch, we're ready to go. So, if we seize the moment, we have a 95% chance of success. Boom. How did it go? So, this guy will be pissed off with me and all of his vassels will be pissed off
11:00 - 11:30 with me, but I stole 100 cattle from him. Thank you for your generosity, loser. And this is kind of the strat that I wanted to go with. I wanted to go with the steel herd strat. Now, I don't believe I I don't think we can do that again for a while, right? So, yeah, we can't do it for another 3 years, but we can just find people who are of about our power level, right? this guy right here. And if we steal their herd, what are they going to do to us? We have such a high percentage chance of succeeding that we're going to be able to basically print herd out of nowhere. And all we
11:30 - 12:00 have to do is zip around the map stealing cattle from other people and we'll easily reach a higher rank. Our first son has been born and we shall name him after ourselves. This shall be our firstborn son will be called Drogo. Yeah, he didn't get any special traits, but yeah, he's fine. Boom. We managed to successfully seduce my wife. I forgot to turn off the nudity. So, there was boobs on the screen there, but I just I just turn I just didn't show you. And somehow I'm the head of Mongol culture. That's kind of crazy. Must be someone migrating around. So, let's have a look here. This guy, Zongz, wants to join my court. I
12:00 - 12:30 could pay him 15 gold to gain 187 herd. They would eventually pay themselves off. I'll pay that. We'll be we'll be broke for a little while, but that's okay. So, I could turn my spy master into a deviant, or I could just become a friend. Let's just be a friend. I don't need to turn my people into deviants. It's not entirely the objective. I just wanted high fertility so we could get the the dynasty rolling. Uh nurges are incredibly powerful hunts and there's a decent amount of fertility in my land. So I'm going to go ahead and host a
12:30 - 13:00 nurge. It's basically like hering big big cattle hordes. Now it's going to cost us 75 herd, but the potential rewards here are insane. We can get up to 200 legitimacy, 400 prestige, 350 gold. Dread Marshall. So, this is really, really good for us to do. Ah, nobody actually showed up to my hunt, so I think it got cancelled. Excellent. We stole 140 cattle from that guy. Uh, we are under attack by a neighboring ruler. And so, let us rally the troops, and we're going to chill here because we do
13:00 - 13:30 not have a whole lot of uh military power. Well, maybe we could chase him down. Oh, no. It says we would lose that fight. So, we'll just play defensively until we can maybe figure out a way to deal with him. If we could get this uh this scheme to fire off, I think we would be in good shape. Chabby has given birth to two boys. Awesome. So, the power of having a lot of sons is I'm going to be able to go and spread my dynasty around the map blowing up realms. All right, let's see here. So, we could get our scheme was successful. We could steal a 100 herd. We could
13:30 - 14:00 start a murder scheme against Sakur. Yoink. So, I just want to see what happens cuz I don't think we can win this war and it would be more painful if we lost. Okay. Yeah. So, you can just have that land and we'll migrate. Like there's a 100 fertility province down here. So, we just we just leave. Our goal is not to try to win and hold land. Our goal is to move around and steal her. It's whatever, dude. I don't give a damn. Oh, more suns. Yes. So, the good
14:00 - 14:30 thing about suns is they could potentially become knights for me to fight for me. Let's have a look. Is there a pasture here with good fertility? No. I could in theory demand this land, but I'm going to let it just recover. And we'll just stick to our one our one tile here. We're making 17 herd per month. Oh, hello. This guy wants to take my my wife as a concubine. No, that's my wife. You don't get her. You want my stargazer as a tribute? No, you can't have her. Get the hell out of
14:30 - 15:00 here. I'm already paying you tribute. You shut your mouth. All right, let's seize the moment and steal some more cattle. Thank you for the generosity. 159. Yoinkerino. I'm going to steal herd from the guy who tried to steal my my concubines, my wife even. Going to absolutely obliterate his herd cuz remember, stealing herd from someone directly weakens them and then directly strengthens me. That's why it's so huge. All right. Boom. Another 95% success chance. Let's do it. Thank you for the
15:00 - 15:30 generosity. 344 herd. Thank you so much. Cuz remember, every time we steal herd, we actually get money from our herd as well. I think it's um for every 2,000 herd, you get one gold per month, which is not like an insane amount. But we're very very close to being able to upgrade to limited dominance. I'm not scared of these guys. I'm going to just steal their cattle. So, now that these realms here have recovered in their fertility, it would be good for us to scoop them up. So, I'm going to talk to this shepherd and I'm going to tell him that
15:30 - 16:00 I want your He's not independent. Okay. Well, this other guy here instead because he is independent. Nobody is his his is his lord. We're going to demand his pasture land. It does cost me prestige, but now I've got two plots of land and I'm making a ton of horses. 50 from this one, 22 from this one. Let's go ahead and steal a little cattle from this guy. Oh, thank you for the 190 cattle. Nom nom nom nom nom nom nom nom nom nom. Delicious. Yes, more suns. Give
16:00 - 16:30 me suns. Now, we could start thinking about if we want to start building some of these buildings in our in our nomatic capital. Do keep in mind though, they do cost herd. So, the more herd we spend on our capital, the more powerful we are long term. However, the slower we will go up these dominance ranks. Now, in theory, we could go straight up to limited dominance. This would allow us to migrate further a field. So, let's upgrade. Basically, this is like becoming a duke. And so now when I migrate, I don't just migrate onto a single province. I migrate onto a whole
16:30 - 17:00 sector like up over here, which honestly looks like a great spot to migrate to. I think I'm in a pretty good spot, though, too. All right, let's keep on stealing herd because that's the thing that we do. It's how we become more powerful. So, some of the things we're going to want to do is to build stuff in here. Weapon storage is good cuz it increases the amount of our herd that gets converted into soldiers. I'm going to do a hunt. It'll cost four gold and 75 um herd, but my hope is that this will lead to a um a nice boost of prestige. Let's find a wolf. So, the chance to get a
17:00 - 17:30 hunter experience. We gained some prestige. Awesome. So, I think we had a successful hunt. I gained some wolf fangs, which will give me some prestige. I'm now a hunter. I lost some stress. I gained legitimacy, dread, prowess, and we have the meat for a stocked for a feast. If we wanted to do a feast, it would be a lot cheaper, but I'm I'm rather just looking for the prestige. Awesome. So, the prestige is what we wanted there because some of the buildings in here actually require
17:30 - 18:00 prestige to be built. So, once we have the money, we'll be able to build them. So, we definitely want the Khan's champion yurt so we can start inviting baggotars. These are going to be useful as well as getting prestige from our knights, which will boost our prestige. So, I'm going to build this. It'll take 3 months. And the power of baggers is they're basically knights for nomads. Thank you for the 81 herd. I appreciate it. Now we have the K's champion yurt which should allow us to invite bagers. Now this will cost us prestige but it allows us to gain strong warriors. So this guy has heated my summons. He's a
18:00 - 18:30 27 prowess warrior which is amazing. Now I will need more money to actually get him. I definitely want the accolade yurt so that I can get prestige more prestige from my knights when I get them. I don't have any knights right now as far as I'm aware. The can's champion yurt. Let's recruit some hunters maybe. And these guys should be able to like recruiting hunters. They're not going to be the greatest. They're not going to be the greatest bagers, but they will help. So, let's take a look at our cores here. We have a quite a few positions that we
18:30 - 19:00 could look to fulfill. It would be nice to get the storyteller because yes, it will cost us a little bit of money and prestige per month, but we turn that into renown and it'll also keep keep our position more legitimate. So, what I'm going to do here is I'm going to toggle the automation here and hopefully an event will basically pop up and say, "Hey, uh, suggest the best candidate in an event on a regular basis. Um, if the role is unfulfilled and we should get an eventually eventually." Now, I'm hopeful that we could maybe steal a little bit of herd from this guy cuz he has a big
19:00 - 19:30 big army. So, let's see what we can do. I think this might be too hard to pull off in a reasonable time frame. Maybe when we're maybe when we're in a stronger position. Okay, the scheme to steal herd from this guy was exposed, but that doesn't actually matter, I don't think. Yeah, they did some counter measures, but like given enough time, we should be able to overcome that and still get this steel off. Now that we have an insane amount of suns, I'm going
19:30 - 20:00 to switch to skull duggery. Um because we literally have like 1 2 3 4 5 6 sevens. That is plenty plenty of suns. 150 prestige and I become falconer. Um, or I could just guarantee the 150 prestige. Yoink. I can gain a hunting eagle and give the other one to my wife. Hell yeah. Or I could sell them for money. Oh, I could really use the money. So, I'm going to sell one. What a great name. I have a hunting eagle. That's awesome. We should go do some falconing. Hold on. Let's plan a hold. Let's go do some falconry. See if we can get a
20:00 - 20:30 goose. We'll hunt a little goose right now. Oh, 50 gold or success chance. That 50 gold is so huge for me right now because I'm so broke. All right, let's upgrade our yurt. I think our next phase of developing our empire is pumping up pumping up our our homeland. Yeah, the hunt fails. No big deal. It happens. But I did lose some stress. I gained some trade experience. I got some legitimacy and prestige, which is perfect. So, hunting is important and we can go on one hunt per year. So, that's important to keep in mind. Oh my god. Yet, more
20:30 - 21:00 sons. Yes, we're up to eight sons now. We're on the verge of this scheme being successful. Let us leverage our advantages. Thank you for the 440 cattle. Oh, dude. He got absolutely obliterated. Holy We stole so much cattle from him. That's incredible. I love that I'm even able to convince like his own court members to help me steal cattle from him. And they're just like, "Yeah, this guy. We'll we'll steal cattle for you, bro." Amazing. All right, scheme is maxed out. Let's go
21:00 - 21:30 ahead and fire it off. 95% success chance. Thanks to the 300 cattle. Oh, dude. We are rocking on the cattle front right now. So, the main thing holding us back now is upgrading our tent. Our our nomadic capital. Oh, I love being a cattle stealer. I'm a cattle rustler. It might be good for us to get the millet storage for that extra herd capacity. Um, I think it would also be good for us to do a nurge as soon as possible. Now, there are six building slots, and there are 1,
21:30 - 22:00 two, three, four, five, six buildings available to me. We could skip the barter stalls, unless we wanted to go settle down near a non-nomatic kingdom and trade with them, which we could do. Like, if we settled our capital like over here and traded with the Byzantines, I think that might be something we eventually look into doing because that would give us a lot of use out of the barter stalls here. I think I'm going to grab myself the millet storage for the extra herd capacity so that I can keep stealing herd. Remember, more herd equals more money per month,
22:00 - 22:30 more military, more everything. Having her is really, really good. My first daughter. Daughters are just as useful as sons for gaining alliances or um power for your renown. 191 herd. Thank you very much. Now, we need to get to 7,500 to get to high dominance. Now, high dominance. Sorry, we need to get to 10,000. We need 10,000 herd to get to high dominance. So, it's going to be a
22:30 - 23:00 while. Probably about time we looked to migrate. Let's have a look around here. All I'm migrating back up to the north a little bit. We have some decent chunks of land as well as some wild herds to take care of. All right, since this is depleted, I will probably give this to a herder. We're getting 47 herd per month. I could turn Terroli into a vassel. And I'm above my domain limit. I'm going to give this low fertility zone to a herder so they can boost their fertility. And I'll give this middle of the road fertility zone to a herder as well. Well, it's rather the control was low and we want high control if we can.
23:00 - 23:30 Speaking of control, it'd be good to get me some bagers and increasing control is good because the higher our control is, the more of the pastoral fertility we can make use of. All right, let's see if we can start a nurge. There's a few guests here and hopefully we can make it happen. Uh, you can be master of the hunt. Yes, please. I'll lose stress cuz this is brave. Chance of becoming wounded. Becoming wounded isn't great cuz and I don't have the goal to recruit a um I don't have the gold to recruit a uh a physician right now. Prowess challenge is good. Now I can get a doz
23:30 - 24:00 composite bow and because my dread is high I can do it. I'm going to take that bow. Thank you. Someone is plotting against me. Someone's trying to steal my herd. Yeah. Disrupt schemes please. So I can gain falconer experience. I can gain nurge a success. I like the idea of the falconer experience. Perfect. We had a great nurge. We didn't quite manage to have the excellent nurge, but we got 100 legitimacy, 300 prestige, 150 gold, 40 dread. So, that's really successful, I would call that, especially on the gold side of things as that's going to allow us to upgrade our um main yurt to have
24:00 - 24:30 that extra herd capacity. So, we'll get that upgrade going. I got to say, I just love stealing herd from people. It's so annoying. It's such an annoying thing to do. And that's why I love it. I love just being like, "Yo, bro, I I rustled up a little bit of your your your herd. get destroyed. Okay, I can designate a guardian for my son. It's going to be me. I will help raise him. Let's recruit some courtiers. And I'm going to recruit hunters. Yeah, it would be nice to have a yurti. So, I'm wondering if there's anyone I could pick here. Yeah, nobody
24:30 - 25:00 has a free job, sadly. I will need to get a lot more court people. It'll take some time. Boom. 200 cattle. Thank you so much. We can store up to 8,000. So, we are going to want to build up to that to that level. There's some beautifully fertile land up here to the north. Let's go migrate up there. Ooh. So, we can be incredibly aggressive and gain herd and gold as we migrate. Distribute the loot. I am wrathful, so I will be taking
25:00 - 25:30 this fearsome wolfhide for myself and burning as we go. My SP tooli is scheming against me. Bro, what? My bagur. Uh, throw this guy in jail. Speaking of jail, we could do a little torture. I could steal his equipment. Now, do we kill him or do we banish him? If we banish him, we get to get his Mongol composite bow. So, you're getting banished for your actions against me. And then we actually do have some equipment here. So, we have a Mongol comp bow and a doz. Yoink. So, Gounan,
25:30 - 26:00 my bagore, my people do not fear me. So, I can kill him in the night and gain a bunch of dread. I don't think I care. I could stab him in the throat and gain a bunch of dread. I mean, this is just a random hunter that I recruited. I can get that dread. He's going to die in the night and people are going to speculate as to how and why he died. That's how that works. Okay, the season has changed here. So, now we have a cold. I need to drop some of these lands if I can. So, we're getting 59.5 per month. Let's keep stealing
26:00 - 26:30 herd. Hell yeah. Imagine stealing so much cattle, you become the great can. It's literally what's happening right now. I'm going to recruit more hunters. Eventually, I want to recruit more brides for my sons, but it's fine. The hunters will serve as great knights for me. Um, and let's plan another nurge. Oh god, another son. So, we're brave. We want we want to increase the success. 61% chance of big success. Uh, I got wounded. Well, I'm going to have to recruit a um physician. Execute this. Thank you for the cattle, loser. I do not want to become severely wounded. 92%
26:30 - 27:00 chance of success. 8% chance of failure. Uh, we killed an animal. I do need to get a physician now. We could leave our friend to the wolves. Regroup. An average physician is pretty bad. Do no more than is necessary. And boom. We have succeeded in our nurge. We gain 77 dread, 400 prestige, 350 gold, 200 legitimacy marshall as well. That's awesome. So, that was a highly highly successful hunt right there. We could also host a feast if we wanted to get
27:00 - 27:30 even more prestige. Let's get a wet nurse. We'll start recruiting for a wet nurse. So, I think it's time to build out our court a little bit. So, I need a higher level of dominance to upgrade my yurt. It would be nice to get extra piety from these guys, but we don't have sorceress metallurgy traditions. I think think some of these things are not available to us because of our culture. So, weapon storage for extra herd conversion is great. Let's get the experienced wet nurse. Boom. I'm no longer severely wounded. I or severely injured. I'm just wounded, which is great. Now, I can join the Mongol Confederation. And you get the big
27:30 - 28:00 advantage of the Confederation is that you get less grazing consumption, which means you can sit on your fertility for a lot longer. I'm going to accept this so that we can chill here. This is basically a big old defensive alliance. And the big advantage there is also that the we will graze slower and we can spend a bit of time stealing herd while we're stationary, building up to that 10,000 level cuz we can actually get up to 10,000 now. All right, let's execute a stealing of some herd from this guy. 451. Amazing. We just need another 4,000. Now might be the time to steal
28:00 - 28:30 some herd from this guy. Now we're just going for a moderate amount. And it'll take a few months, but we can get up to 95% success. Jesus, it was instantaneously discovered. That's not going to stop me. I heard a sword noise, which means I think we're at war now. Yo, dude. I don't think we can win this war. I have no intentions of fighting this. I'm going just I don't want to lose any of my herd. I'm going just let them die. You guys should have known that this wasn't possible for us to win this. And that's the damn truth. No skin off my nose. You know what I mean? If you have to become a tributary, that's fine. Now, we do want to steal this
28:30 - 29:00 guy's cattle. It got cancelled, so I can't do it for a few years. I do wish there was like an automatically recruit to scheme button. All right, let's fire this off. Seize the moment. Thank you for the 400 cattle. We're up to nearly 8,000 hertz. We're just on the squeak just on the squeak of getting to the next tier, bro. I'm going to be real with you. I super don't care about these wars. I'm not raising my levies. I'm busy. I would like a courtyard, but I don't want to spend any cattle right now. or not while we're so close to tiering up and becoming a high dominance
29:00 - 29:30 because that plus4 domain limit is going to be really nice. Who knew stealing cattle was the greatest way to achieve power in the in the steps. That's all I've just been doing. I've just been stealing cattle all day, man. It was actually a thing in Ireland way back in the day was like you would do cattle raids on the other people cuz you know how many horses you had or how many cows you had. That was like cows were money. More cows you had, the richer you were. Thanks for the 270. Okay, we're so close. So close. Our
29:30 - 30:00 fertility is low. I could migrate. I don't want to fight this war. I don't care. Nothing bad happens to me if we lose these wars. I think I do need to upgrade my millet storage to get enough storage room here cuz we're a little light on storage. 95% success chance. Thank you for the 53 cattle. Not quite as many as I would hope for. Perhaps it's time for us to migrate and do another nurge. What have we got in terms of fertility? Oh, hey, there's a beautiful spot up here to just just to my north. Some great land. All right, let's go for the big loot. All right,
30:00 - 30:30 this guy's got 18,000 horde riders. So, this is the big one. No matter what happens, we try to make this happen because if we can steal an absurd amount of cattle from this guy, it'll be big. Now, they're already countermeasuring, which is annoying. We're up to 8% success chance on this. 37% 51%. 66%. Here we go. 80%. One more tick and we're ready to go. What is this? How to train your eagle. I will spend a little bit of coin to improve my eagle. Hell
30:30 - 31:00 yeah. No. What happened to my God damn it? Because it was a different guy. The guy I was trying to steal from died, I think. That's so annoying. Well, at least this one will be easier as long as they don't discover it. Oh, we're on the verge of coming up in dominance rank. My son has become a tough soldier. We'll need to get him a wife. Oh, it's dominance time, baby. High dominance. So now we can have a maximum of four domains. We can have a ton of vassels, too. And now our migration can target kingdoms. Now, what's important about that is up until now, I've been waiting
31:00 - 31:30 until I had permission to migrate into someone's land. But I'm strong enough now to where I can just say, "Listen, bud. I'm moving in. You know, your opinion be damned." And we can hold up to four pieces of land to get a bunch of herd. Oh, yes. All right. All right, we wait another month or two and then we execute this scheme. I don't want to change religion. Get the hell out of here. 94% success chance. 2,000 herd. I just stole I just stole 2,000
31:30 - 32:00 sheep off this dude. Now that was good memes. So, if we go to migrate now, yeah, we're going to have to invade someone to migrate. That's the thing. At this point, we're now like we're too big for people to let us move around. Like this guy over here, like I would have to pay him. But we're now at the power level where we could start really reshaping
32:00 - 32:30 the map. And our son has just reached like eligible age to become a bagur and a soldier. And I could start, you know, maybe I could make him his own land. We could start putting together a kingdom because I believe we could migrate into Cacassia. Now, it might be hard for us to migrate into these guys, but I reckon if we migrate down south through here, we could potentially I think actually some of this land down here is owned by tribal settlements. But if we were to migrate down here, actually, I'm curious. Can we do that? Let's see. All
32:30 - 33:00 right, let's I'll offer this guy 50 gold to let me move south. So, now we are can Oh, sick. We actually have a court now, dude. Dynasty banner. We can hang up a wolf hide and another banner. Our court is like building up grandure. Oh, dude. So, ah, okay. So, I can choose to migrate to a duchy, right? Or I can choose to migrate to a kingdom. You see that? Now, this guy will not accept my migration. But if I migrate down here to
33:00 - 33:30 this part of the step and I start blowing all this land up, we could do something really interesting. So, I think we're going to carve out a new kingdom because these guys are weak and ripe for the picking. So, this is going to start a war against them on the migration. So, our army is now a giant migrating horde. So, we need to seize this realm here. Let's recruit some eligible brides and then we'll handle our unmarried heirs. Perfect. So, we're going to take a little bit of attrition here, which sucks. The siege progress will be slow, but that's fine. Oh, perfect. We're now a schemer. What? If
33:30 - 34:00 you don't migrate, I lost 2,000 herd. What was that? I'm migrating. I'm in the process. That's some BS. When you're in the middle of a migratory war, I don't think you should lose herd. So, we just need to occupy this last holding here. And we lost a lot of troops to attrition, but that is how it is. And a lot of our herd has been raised as as warriors right now. And it'll take 16 months for this siege to go through. Probably a good idea for me to get some torchbearers because they're good at burning stuff down. So, I'm going to seize all of Marsan's realm, gain fame.
34:00 - 34:30 I am now the k of this kingdom here, Zungaria. So, this is like my dour legitimate land. I could start spreading out and capturing all this stuff. So, how do I raise I want to burn this land down. Oh, yeah. Raise Caraccoa. We got ourselves a nice nomadic settlement here. Oh, you will be getting raised all the way down to nothing. We want there to be no holdings here. Now, this is what I'm talking about. What we could do
34:30 - 35:00 is start parceling out this land into duchies and give them to our sons to turn them into independent horse lords with the exception of our our eldest, right, who will be our heir. That way we have a bunch of our, you know, Mongols running around the map, fighting, killing, doing all this stuff, building up their own tribes. Now, the fun thing is I'm now adjacent to this these lands over here that I can go raiding for money. I'll need to figure out what the what the true consequences of this are,
35:00 - 35:30 but I want to thank you guys very much for watching. Uh, if the video does well, there will be a second one. Otherwise, this is it. I had a lot of fun playing around with the Mongols for a little bit. We took this guy from a zero to a hero, and I'm wondering if we could go higher. I love you all very much, and I'll see you guys next time. Bye-bye.
