Connect your AI agent to Upwork’s marketplace and the work already in your account. The official Upwork MCP Server is hosted at mcp.upwork.com and uses Streamable HTTP with OAuth 2.1, so a compatible client can connect without running a local server. For clients, the server supports talent search, project-post preparation, invitations, proposal review and offer preparation. It also exposes messages, contract updates, milestones, timesheets and transaction history. Freelancers can search for projects, prepare proposals grounded in their profile and past work, submit milestone work and check earnings. Agencies can review activity across their team. Write workflows are drafted for confirmation. Binding offers, contract acceptance and financial actions complete on upwork.com. Access can be revoked through Upwork’s Connected Apps settings. The connector is free with an Upwork account; standard marketplace fees and proposal Connects still apply. Use the official endpoint https://mcp.upwork.com/mcp with a client that supports remote MCP and OAuth. Upwork publishes setup instructions for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Codex. Its companion Agent Plugin repository provides additional workflow skills; installing those skills and connecting the MCP server can be separate steps depending on the client.
