Canva’s November 5 changelog adds model_capacity_reached (429) for Create image generation job. October’s credit changes use 402: credit_quota_exceeded identifies the user allowance, app_credit_quota_exceeded the app’s. Waiting for model capacity does not resolve exhausted credits.
Canva’s error guide prescribes exponential backoff for too_many_requests. Keep status and code distinct in logs; routing by 429 alone conflates capacity with throttling.
Job
The preview endpoint can return HTTP 200 before completion. Inspect job status.
The required idempotency_key replays the original job for 24 hours despite parameter changes. Changing models under that key does not start replacement work. Check identity. Documentation analysis; no API test.
