The launch describes engagement follow‑through, with professional judgment and the audit opinion kept with licensed accountants.
Work continues between auditor check‑ins
The November 2 release says Clerks review documents, perform tests and prepare workpapers on an assigned engagement. They request missing information, track the client’s reply and resume when it arrives without another prompt.
Clark describes Material Intelligence as an agent harness, document processing and layered memory. The stated mechanism is continuity across the engagement, rather than an isolated answer.
Escalation is a handoff
Routine updates run quietly; issues needing an auditor arrive with evidence. Licensed CPAs still make professional judgments, review the work and sign the opinion. Autonomous follow‑up therefore does not mean Clark takes over that professional responsibility.
Continuous monitoring between audits is a development goal. The release does not establish that it currently provides continuous assurance.
