The matcher setting can stop an action; a stream warning reports that a callback failed.
Choose whether hook failure stops work
Version 0.3.317, released November 2 Toronto time, adds onFailure to hook matchers. With "block", a callback that throws or supplies invalid output stops the action.
Hosts can make callback failure prevent the pending action, instead of treating failure only as something to report. The notes do not specify the default.
Warnings answer a separate question
The same release adds a stream warning when a hook callback fails. The warning reports failure; the matcher setting determines the blocking behavior. Receiving a notice does not itself establish that an action was stopped.
For broader design questions, OpenTools’ systems reference covers authority and observability. It does not document this SDK option.
