Read‑only access comes before deletion.
Two deadlines, different consequences
Conductor’s November 4 notice says it is joining Meta and winding down Cloud. Its timetable gives existing users two different deadlines:
| Date in 2026 | Cloud state | What remains possible |
|---|---|---|
| November 13 | Read‑only | Read old chats and export; no new messages. |
| November 20 | Shutdown; deletion begins | Export before this date. |
The FAQ also says all Conductor user data will be deleted when the app shuts down in early 2027. That app‑wide statement does not extend the Cloud timetable: Cloud deletion begins November 20. Neither notice says it can erase files already exported to a Mac.
Transfer and archive differ
The instructions separate two operations: right‑click a Cloud workspace and select Transfer to local to move it and its chats to your Mac. For all account data, use Settings → Account → Export data. Moving one workspace is not the documented full archive.
Local support has a limit
The announcement promises new models and critical bug fixes until early 2027, when local wind‑down starts. It gives no exact end date. OpenTools has not tested an export.
