HIX AI’s connector update puts user approval before writes

By OpenTools Team

Automatic reads and approved writes have different boundaries; pause/resume and disconnection remain different controls.

Where confirmation intervenes

HIX AI’s November 4 release describes connectors for Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and other apps. It says searches and reads run automatically, while writes such as sending email or changing appointments require a preview and user approval before execution.

Approval therefore sits at the write boundary, rather than requiring the same confirmation for every read. This is vendor‑described behavior, not our evidence of error prevention.

Pause retains a return path

The connection settings separately allow pause/resume, account switching and disconnection. HIX says resuming a paused connection does not require reauthentication. That makes pause a resumable control, not a documented token‑revocation or stored‑data‑deletion process.
