Gemini Enterprise can render MCP Apps as interactive interfaces inside chat

Google’s new developer guide shows how MCP Apps pair a tool with a live interface rendered in Gemini Enterprise. The pattern can shorten multi-step work, but developers must still bind the widget to approved tools, isolate it in a sandbox and verify every consequential server action.

Pi 1.5.0 separates reported billing from estimated costs

By OpenTools Team

A provenance field helps SDK and extension users distinguish totals from component estimates.

Check the total’s provenance

Pi’s November 2 release introduces Usage.cost.totalFromProvider for SDK and extension consumers to separate supplier‑reported charges from catalog‑based estimates. An aggregate qualifies as provider‑reported only if every constituent does.

One billed contribution cannot establish the provenance of the entire combined figure.

OpenRouter components remain estimates

The OpenRouter change covers Chat Completions and Anthropic Messages totals. For BYOK, Pi now combines OpenRouter’s charge with upstream amounts reported by the supplier; individual components still use catalog estimates.

Keep both bases visible when presenting a total beside components. The change concerns accounting provenance, not evidence of reduced spending.
