Dean supports campus discovery, registration, analytics and support tasks. Existing module customers receive it at no extra cost, while institutions choose whether AI is enabled and which users may access it.
Dean gives students and staff different kinds of help
Ready Education announced ReadyCampus on October 28, bringing its CampusGroups engagement module, Data Intelligence analytics and a new conversational assistant called Dean onto a shared platform. Dean’s student‑facing work differs from the jobs it performs for administrators.
The Dean product page says students can find campus events and resources, register for events and join clubs that match their interests. Administrators can explore engagement trends, view charts and summaries, and generate downloadable reports. Dean also answers product‑support questions with links to help articles and can create support tickets. The launch release describes a ticket as the route to follow‑up from a Support Specialist when a question needs personal assistance.
Those are practical discovery, administrative and support workflows. The announcements do not independently establish that using them improves retention, learning or other student outcomes.
The institution decides whether students can use it
Ready Education says institutions decide whether to enable AI features and which users can access them. The product page gives a specific example: an institution might allow selected administrators to use Dean while not providing it to students.
That makes the advertised student capabilities different from a promise of access for every student at a customer institution. A campus could adopt the wider platform or provide staff analytics while making a different decision about student AI access. The institution’s actual enablement and selected‑user policy remain relevant to what someone can use.
These are the provider’s descriptions of its access model. OpenTools has not tested an institutional account, permissions or student workflow, and this report does not establish a privacy, security or compliance guarantee.
Included module upgrades do not mean a globally free service
The release says Dean is included at no extra cost for existing CampusGroups and Data Intelligence customers. It also describes upgrades to customers’ existing modules at no additional cost. That is an existing‑customer entitlement statement, rather than a public offer of free access for any institution or individual.
Ready Education says current students move to the redesigned CampusGroups mobile app automatically, without a new download or account. That app migration is separate from AI enablement: the same announcement leaves institutions in control of whether AI features are available and to whom.
The company plans to announce further capabilities and modules in 2027. Those future additions should not inherit the availability of the current launch. For an existing customer, the immediate questions are which modules it already has, what upgrades are included and which Dean users its institution chooses to enable.
