Recall adds exact search; disconnected app access can last an hour

Recall’s November 2 update distinguishes existing meaning‑based passage search from new exact‑word and phrase searches. Whole‑card reading supplies surrounding context rather than another match. Connected AI apps receive the same tools through MCP, with long cards read page by page.

Before approving a connection, users see where access will go and what the app can read or change. Connected‑app lists show connection and last‑used times.

Recall says disconnected access ends within an hour. That is a revocation window, not an instantaneous cutoff; new retrieval tools do not remove the access decision.

For system builders, permission‑aware data and authority boundaries provide broader design context.
