            Chapters

            • 00:00 - 00:30: The Importance of Egoism The chapter explores the concept of egoism and its misunderstood significance. Initially, the narrator and likely the readers too, may disagree with the notion. However, it suggests that egoism is an innate quality within everyone, and society has erroneously labeled it as negative. The text argues that possessing a strong ego can significantly enhance one's life, contrary to popular belief. The narrative shares a personal anecdote about being timid and bullied due to the lack of ego, illustrating the disservice that results from neglecting one's ego.
            • 00:30 - 01:00: Overcoming Timidity and Embracing Ego The chapter discusses the journey of overcoming timidity by embracing the ego. It starts with the narrator experiencing a complete loss of ego, feeling inferior to others, which leads to a life lived in fear. However, a turning point comes after a personal betrayal in a relationship, prompting the narrator to embrace a healthier, more confident ego. This change is inspired by others who have also benefitted from letting their ego surface, like Isagi and Nagi, who found success and strength by doing so. The chapter emphasizes that allowing oneself a degree of ego can lead to true vitality and success.
            • 01:00 - 01:30: Thriving with Ego: Lessons from Blue Lock The chapter "Thriving with Ego: Lessons from Blue Lock" focuses on breaking free from limitations and discovering joy and fulfillment. It describes a thrilling scene that captures the essence of an exhilarating experience, emphasizing the importance of ego as exemplified by the character Chigiri. The narrative argues that without ego, individuals settle for mediocrity in various aspects of their lives, such as accepting poor treatment, unsatisfying jobs, and unfavorable physical health, due to underlying beliefs of unworthiness.
            • 01:30 - 02:00: Ego as a Catalyst for Positive Change The chapter 'Ego as a Catalyst for Positive Change' discusses how ego can be a powerful motivator for self-improvement. It argues that ego can drive individuals to make significant changes in their lives quickly. However, it warns against letting ego lead to negative behaviors like insulting or betraying others. Instead, having a healthy ego means having confidence in one's ability to achieve a good relationship, career, physique, and more. The chapter underscores the importance of standing up for oneself and believing in one's potential, using the example of a character named Chigiri to illustrate these points.
            • 02:00 - 02:30: Desire and Drive through Ego The chapter entitled 'Desire and Drive through Ego' explores the concept of ego as a positive force that fuels personal ambition and fulfillment. The protagonist's ego originates from his passion for football (soccer) and his dream of excelling in it. This ego-driven desire pushes him to overcome fears, particularly the fear of re-injury, enabling him to live life on his terms. The narrative illustrates how embracing one's ego can lead to happiness by focusing on genuine objectives and dismissing trivial concerns, highlighting how Chigiri uses his ego to drive himself towards his aspirations.
            • 02:30 - 03:00: Breaking Chains of Fear with Ego In this chapter titled 'Breaking Chains of Fear with Ego,' the narrative revolves around overcoming personal fears and mental barriers that hinder the pursuit of dreams. The metaphor of chains, invisible yet very real, represents the limits individuals place on themselves due to past failures or injuries. For the character Chigiri, his chains were due to an injured leg that made him afraid to run, fearing it might break again. Similarly, the text urges readers to recognize their own chains, such as fear of rejection or failure, and encourages them to act contrary to these fears, as mere words are insufficient for overcoming them. The chapter implies that breaking free from these self-imposed chains requires actions that challenge and contradict those negative past experiences.
            • 03:00 - 03:30: Living Authentically with Ego The chapter explores the concept of living authentically from a place of joy, rather than settling for less or allowing oneself to be mistreated. It highlights the importance of prioritizing one's own happiness and self-worth. The text uses personal anecdotes and insights, particularly from someone named Chigiri, to illustrate how ego and belief in oneself can serve as a catalyst for breaking away from subconscious patterns of behavior that no longer serve us. The chapter encourages embracing a positive self-image and striving for greatness despite past negative beliefs or experiences.
            • 03:30 - 04:00: Personal Application of Egoism In the chapter titled 'Personal Application of Egoism,' the narrator describes a significant personal goal set at the turn of the new year: to achieve 30,000 subscribers by 2024, increasing by 15 at a time. This ambitious goal is framed as unrealistic but embraced as a challenge. The concept of ego plays a central role, as the narrator expresses a strong desire to prove wrong those who have looked down on him in the past. The chapter explores the theme of breaking free from self-imposed limitations and using ego as a driving force to achieve greatness, with the narrator resolving to never again accept being treated poorly and to embrace a regal self-image.

How Ego changed my life (Blue Lock - Jinpachi Ego) Transcription

            • 00:00 - 00:30 This man will improve your life  tenfold. You didn't think much   of it when he started talking about  egoism, did you? You just thought,   well, this is different. You probably completely  disagreed with him like I did. Wanted to prove   him wrong. But he's talking about something  that already exists in you. Your whole life. You've been told that having an ego is a bad  thing, but where's that gotten you? They lied.   A solid ego is essential in life. If you're  lacking it, you are missing out on more than you   realize. You're not living the way you deserve  to. For practically my entire life I was. the timid shy kid that everyone would kind of pick on,  and I never stood up for myself, not once.
            • 00:30 - 01:00 This led to the complete loss of my ego, as my  ego could only deduce from how I was acting,   that I was beneath everyone. And so I  spent much of my life afraid until I   decided "enough". After being cheated on in my last  relationship, I gave this man's vision a chance.   I let out that slightly egotistical side of me  that we all have, and I've never felt more alive. You saw what a difference Egoism made to Isagi,  who now has a real shot at his dream. To Nagi,   who instantly became one of the scariest players  on the pitch and above all to Chigiri,
            • 01:00 - 01:30 who broke free from his chains and  found joy once more. In one of the   most thrilling scenes I've ever seen. So  everything about us and was just nuts. The soundtrack, the animation, we really felt  the adrenaline Chigiri did, and he perfectly   represents the kind of ego that we're after. And  I'm gonna come back to that because, now It's your   turn because without an ego, you accept the bare  minimum. You accept poor treatment from others.   A job you despise, a physique you hate because deep  down you don't think you have the right to better.
            • 01:30 - 02:00 Ego is the spark to fix all of these  things that you should not be putting   up with to turn your life around 180  degrees almost overnight. Nothing will   push you the way Ego will. Now of course  you don't need to go as far as Barou   or Kuon. You don't need to still insult  people and certainly don't betray people. But you do need to stand up for yourself  and you do need to stop seeing yourself,   belief anyone in anything. Stop thinking  you can't get a good relationship,   a good career, a good physique, whatever it may  be. A healthy ego is thinking you can do. All   of these things. An xample is always useful and  Chigiri is exactly what I've been talking about.
            • 02:00 - 02:30 His ego comes from his desire  to keep doing what he loves,   playing football or "soccer". As a lot  of you guys are American. His ego of   wanting to be the best and carry on doing  what he loves is what gives him the drive   to break free of the chains of his fear of  another injury. And live the way he wants. You can see the difference, awakening  his ego made for him. He is far,   far happier, and this is exactly what we're  after. Use your ego to give you that drive   to stop caring about things that don't matter  and get you what you really want. Chigiri had
            • 02:30 - 03:00 given up. He was convinced he'd never reach his dream and saw himself below everyone else. The symbolism of the chains is fantastic. No one  can see them, but they are very, very real. For him, it   was his injured leg and the way he acted, scared  to run in case it broke again, formed these   chains. You have these chains too. You're likely  afraid being rejected, laughed at, or most likely   just failing. And to break these chains, you need  to act in a way that contradicts those past thoughts. Words alone aren't enough. You saw many  times people tried to talk to Chigiri
            • 03:00 - 03:30 about and nothing. So stop settling  for that girl that treats you poorly or   staying silent when someone disrespects  you because your subconscious notices   how you act and that's what forms those  chains. If it breaks again, so be it. If it happens again, so be it. He talks  about how he decided that his joy would   come first above everything else, and you  should too, but you have to be a bit of a   crazy egoist to do that. You know, Chigiri had  there be of an ego boost from his desire.   The best in the world or his belief that he  could be. So how have I been applying this? Well, my most recent chain is that I thought  I was just a loser, unable to do anything
            • 03:30 - 04:00 right. So at the turn of the new year, I  declared to everyone I knew. I would hit   30,000 subs by 2024, I'd 15 at a time.  A completely unrealistic goal. Perfect.   No loser would do something like  that. With those chains broken. My ego came out and it is driving me hard.  I will make something incredible to prove   everyone who ever looked down at me wrong.  I will never stand for the way I've been   treated in the past again, and I will act  like the king I am, and that is my ego.
