Sermon recap

Where is your faith? | Randy Skeete

Estimated read time: 1:20

    Summary

Randy Skeete’s sermon, “Where is your faith?”, centers on the idea that true faith is not just agreement with doctrines or loyalty to a church, but personal trust in Jesus Christ. Drawing from Scripture, he argues that faith pleases God, as seen in Jesus, Abel, Enoch, and Abraham, and that salvation is the outcome of persevering faith. He emphasizes that believers must place their confidence in God’s word, submit to Christ as Lord, and live by constant dependence on Him. The message ends with a call to surrender daily, trust Jesus fully, and let faith shape every part of life.

      Overview

Randy Skeete begins by grounding the congregation in reverence, prayer, and Scripture before introducing the central question: Where is your faith? From the start, he makes it clear that the sermon is not about personal opinion, but about a direct message from the Bible that challenges listeners to examine what or whom they trust.

He then builds the case that faith is relational and personal. Using passages from Hebrews, Exodus, Genesis, Isaiah, John, Acts, and the writings of Ellen White, he argues that faith means believing in God’s reality, trusting His word, and placing confidence in Jesus Christ as Lord, Savior, and the chosen one who alone can save.

The sermon concludes with a pastoral appeal: believers should keep their faith fixed on Jesus, submit to Him daily, and live in the salvation that faith brings. Skeete invites the audience to respond personally, insisting that faith in Christ must shape obedience, devotion, and the way a Christian lives every day.

            Chapters

            • 00:00 - 10:00: Opening Worship and Message Introduction The worship service opens with a reading of the Ten Commandments, emphasizing God's covenant, holiness, Sabbath observance, and moral duties such as honoring parents, avoiding idolatry, theft, false witness, and coveting. The speaker then affirms that God is good, setting a reverent tone for the service.
            • 10:00 - 25:00: Faith, Worship, and Trust in God The speaker opens with a call to reason together, a prayer for guidance, and the reading of Matthew 3:16-17. He emphasizes the Trinity at Jesus’ baptism and asks whether God is pleased with Jesus and, by extension, what is required for God to be pleased with us. He then introduces Hebrews 11 as the key text for the subject, “Where is your faith?”
            • 25:00 - 40:00: Faith in a Person: Abraham, Moses, and Scripture The sermon argues that genuine faith cannot be separated from the Word of God, using Abraham as the example. Abraham believed God’s promise of descendants despite Sarah’s barrenness, showing that faith chooses God’s power over visible impossibility and that justification by faith is centered on trusting God’s word.
            • 40:00 - 55:00: Jesus as the Object of Faith and Salvation Faith is presented as total trust in Jesus Christ, with the outcome of faith being the salvation of the soul. Hebrews 10 is used to show that the righteous live by faith, while drawing back means losing faith and leads to destruction; therefore, believers must keep their faith in Jesus rather than in people or institutions.
            • 55:00 - 60:00: Appeal, Review, and Closing Prayer The closing portion of the message reviews key takeaways from the lesson: Jesus is the Savior, faith in Him brings salvation, and He is also Lord, not merely a one-time deliverer. The speaker emphasizes that believers should submit to Jesus, trust Him fully, and allow Him to guide their lives just as the Father guided Him. The segment ends with a reflective reminder that living in submission leads to a powerful Christ-like life, followed by a closing benediction and the congregation’s amen.

            • Segment 1: 00:00 - 02:30 And God spake all these words, saying, I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any given image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them. For I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me, and showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. For the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Sixth day shalt thou labor and do all thy work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God. In it thou shalt not do any work. Thou nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy man's servant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day. Wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it. Honor thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be long upon the land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee. Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. Thou shalt not coveret thy neighbor's house. Thou shalt not coveret thy neighbor's wife, nor his man's servant, nor his maid servant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbors. God is good >> and all the time.
            • Segment 2: 02:30 - 05:00 Buenos Diaz miss amigos felis. Thank you very much for coming to God's house to worship him in spirit and in truth. There are those who worship so they think in spirit but not in truth. For God to accept worship, it must be in spirit and in truth because the spirit is called the spirit of truth. And so today, by the grace of God, we will worship in spirit and in truth. I am very grateful to God for the high honor, the pleasure, and the joy of being with you for this coming week. My promise to God, my pledge to God is that I will give you thus sayth the Lord. Whether you like it or not, I will give you thus sayth the Lord. I will keep my opinions to myself because they cannot save you. The words of God will change your lives. I thank the pastor for allowing me to occupy this sacred pulpit and I want him to know he has nothing to worry about. I will only deliver thus sayith the Lord. I thank brother and sister Torres who have contacted me and who picked me up at the airport. They have been very very kind along with your handsome pastor and I thank them very much for that. You look like nice people. Are you nice people? >> All of you. >> All of you. >> Some of you are not that nice. All right. Well, God loves you nonetheless. Let me welcome those of you online wherever you are. Thank you for joining us and may the Lord bless you. I believe there are some people in the basement. Am I all right? Welcome those of you in the basement. We thank God for technology that allows my English words to be put up in Spanish. When we get to heaven, we shall speak
            • Segment 3: 05:00 - 07:30 one language. Can you say amen? >> What will that language be? Oh, somebody said English, somebody said Spanish, somebody said Russian. Whatever it is, we will all understand one another. Can you say amen? Is there anyone with us today? You are not a Seventh Day Adventist. May I see your hand? You are not Oh, would you stand? What's your name? Andrea. That's a nice name. Hello, Andrea. How are you? You're doing well. Where are you from? From where? Yes. Oh, you're from San Juan. Now, who invited you, Andrea? All right. Well, we're very happy you chose to come, Andrea. May the Lord bless you. May the Lord protect you. May the Lord grant you all the desires of your heart. Say, "Amen" for Andrea. >> Amen. >> Say it again. >> Amen. >> One more time. >> Amen. >> God bless you, Andrea. Anybody else? You are not a Seventh Day Adventist. Let me see your hand. Anyone else? Well, I don't know if there's anyone in the basement who is not, but if you are, may the Lord bless you. And I believe there are those online who are not Seventh Day Adventists. We're happy you've joined us. And may God place his hand of mercy and power upon you and keep his hand on your life until he guides you right into his kingdom. Today is the Sabbath. It's a holy day. We've come to worship a holy God. So, I want you to show God reverence by the way you behave yourself in his presence. Is that okay? Please don't jump up and walk out every 5 minutes. Don't do that. Stay in your
            • Segment 4: 05:00 - 07:30 seat unless you have a medical emergency. When you get up and keep moving back and forth, you distract others. You certainly will distract me. Our message for today, where is your faith? What did I say? Where is your faith? Before I get into that message, and I
            • Segment 5: 07:30 - 10:00 don't see a clock anywhere, what time is it? >> What? >> 11:49. >> 11:49. 11:51. All right, I'll choose 11:49. That gives me two more minutes. Uh, when should I stop 12:30? >> Okay, I'll stop when I'm finished. Do you have one of these? Why didn't you answer me? Do you have one of these? If you're not using it, turn it off. If you're not using it, turn it off. I'll give you 10 seconds right now to turn it off. As God watches you, disobedience is not good in the church of God. The servant of God in the pulpit has asked you, "If you're not using this, turn it off." Are they off? All right. If you are using it, turn the volume all the way down. Favor number two, while I'm speaking, pray for me and say, "Lord, put your words in that man's mouth." Jeremiah chapter 1 verse 9. Then the Lord put forth his hand and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, "Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. And as surely as God lives, I want to speak God's words." So from time to time as I speak in the quietness of your heart, simply say, "Lord, please put your words in that man's mouth." Favor number three, think as you listen. What did I say? Think. Isaiah 1:18. Come now, let us reason together, say the Lord. God is willing to reason, which means he's willing to talk with you and listen to you, and he expects you to listen to him as you and God reason. And so God may say to you, "My daughter, why have you stopped going to church?" Let's
            • Segment 6: 10:00 - 12:30 discuss it. My son, why do you work on Sabbath? Let's discuss it. My child, why are you involved with someone not of the church? Let's discuss it. God says, "Let us reason together." God is a reasonable God. the devil is not reasonable. So the three favors, one, make sure these are turned off if you're not using them. Two, pray for me while I'm speaking. And three, think as you listen. Let's pray. Dear God, I am your servant and I need your help. If I've offended you, forgive me, God. Father, I place my hand myself in your hands. Use me, dear God, the way a musician uses an instrument. I will not resist. Put your ideas in my mind. Put your words in my mouth and the humility of Jesus Christ in my heart. Bless every man, woman, boy, and girl in this building and online. Pour out a sweet, sweet blessing on our guest, Cisandrea. We're glad she's come. Bless her family. Now, Father, bless us with truth. I pray in Jesus name. Let God's people say, "Amen." And amen. Go with me to Matthew chapter 3. Matthew chapter 3, we shall begin reading at verse 16. Our subject, where is your faith? Matthew chapter 3, reading from verse 16. And I bring you greetings from the Ipsellante SDA church in Ipsellante, Michigan in the Lake Region Conference. Do you have Matthew? What chapter? >> Reading from what verse? >> And Jesus from 16. And Jesus when he was baptized went up straight away out of the water. And lo,
            • Segment 7: 12:30 - 15:00 the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting upon him. And lo, a voice from heaven, saying, "What? This is my beloved son in whom I am. Finish the verse. Well pleased. Let's listen to those words again from God the Father. God the Father is in heaven. Jesus is in the River Jordan and the Holy Ghost has come down the way a dove flies down. So we have a voice in heaven. We have someone coming down and we have someone coming up out of the water. Do you see that? So we have father, son, and holy ghost. The father said, "This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased. I am pleased with him. The question then arises, why was God pleased with Jesus? And is God pleased with us? Let me change the us to you. Is God pleased with you? And what is required to make God pleased with us? Let's go to Hebrews chapter 11. We shall read from verse one. The book of Hebrews chapter 11, reading from verse one. Our subject, where is your faith? Remember to preserve reverence in the presence of God. I am very serious about reverence in God's house. The house of God is not a football field. It is not a casino. It is not a bar. It is a holy sacred place where God comes to fellowship with us. What book did I say? What chapter? From what verse? Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For through it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we
            • Segment 8: 15:00 - 17:30 understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God. So that things which are seen were not made of things which do appeal. Verse four. Through faith or by faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which she obtained witness that he was righteous. God testifying of his gifts, and by it he being dead yet speaketh. Abel offered sacrifices by faith and God declared him to be righteous. God was a witness to the righteousness of Abel. Verse 5, by faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death and was not found because God had translated him. For before his translation, he had this testimony that he pleased God. The Bible says a uh Enoch pleased God. Verse 5 of Hebrews 11. Verse 4 of Hebrews 11 talks about Abel. Question for you. Did Abel please God? Yes or no? Yes. Even though the word pleased is not in verse four, but we have to reason because God declared him to be righteous. Abel pleased God by faith. Enoch pleased God by faith. Now, let's read verse six. And if you have the King James version, you may read with me. But without faith, it is impossible to please him. Stop. Question for you. Did the father say, "I am pleased with my son on the river Jordan." Did God say, "This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased." All right, think with me. We just read in Hebrews 11:6, "Without faith, it is impossible to please God." Did Jesus please God? What does that tell you about Jesus? He lived by faith in his father. >> Thank you for the amens. It took a long time to come, but I'm grateful they came. By faith,
            • Segment 9: 17:30 - 20:00 Jesus pleased God. By faith, Enoch pleased God. By faith, Abel pleased God. >> Let's look at verse. Just finish verse six. But without faith it is impossible to please God. For he that cometh please him. For he that cometh unto God must do what? Believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Now verse six tells us there are two things about which we must be convinced. one that God is. He is alive. He is almighty. He is divine. He is powerful. He is just. He is righteous. He is faithful. God is. He is independent of anything created. God does not need you in order for him to live. God does not need food in order to live. God is are you following me? And so the Bible says without faith it is impossible to please him. For he that cometh unto God must believe, not might believe, must believe that he is and that he's a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Now keep this in mind. We must believe that he is. Go to Exodus chapter 3. We read from verse 13. Our subject, where is your faith? Where's my timekeeper who told me it's 11:51 or 49? What time is it now? 12. What? 12. >> Oh, 1 minute past. Okay. Gracias. 1 minute past 12. Okay. What book did I say? Exodus, what? Chapter 3, reading from what? Verse 13. Let me pray again. Father, as I continue, give me more grace, more power, more truth, more humility. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
            • Segment 10: 20:00 - 22:30 reading from verse 13 of Exodus 3. And Moses said unto God, behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, the God of your fathers have sent me unto you, and they shall say to me, what is his name? What shall I say unto them? Stop. Moses understood that most of the Israelites had forgotten who God was. Elite tells us most of them had forgotten God, forgotten the Sabbath. Only a few, the old ones who remembered the God of creation. Moses understands they had forgotten God. And so he tells God, "Who shall I tell them sent me?" They knew Pharaoh. He was a god. They knew the god of the sun, the god of the bird, the god of the Nile, the god of the hyena. You know, the cat was a god, the dog was a god, the snake was a god, the bird, the hawk was a god, the son was a god. They knew those gods. They had forgotten the god of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And so Moses said, "Give me a name." Verse 14. And God said unto Moses, I am that I am. And he said, "Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I am have sent me unto you." God told Moses, "My name is I am." In the Hebrew, which we call Yahweh. I am. Now, in Hebrews 11:6, we read, "He that cometh to God must believe that he is," which is the same thing as I am. We must believe that God is. In other words, our faith must be in a person, not simply in words. Our faith must be in a person. The faith of Jesus Christ was in his father and so the father was pleased. And Hebrews 11:6 tells us we must believe God is. Our faith then must be that trust that we have in a person and that person is God. That person is Jesus
            • Segment 11: 22:30 - 25:00 Christ. Let me say it again. Faith is trust in a person. Go to Genesis chapter 15. Genesis 15. We read from verse one. Our subject, where is your faith? Is your faith in a doctrine or is your faith in Jesus Christ? Is your faith in the church or is your faith in Jesus Christ? Now, we know Jesus has a church and the Bible has doctrines, but where is your faith? Is it in a person? What book did I say? What chapter? Read for what verse. After these things, the Lord, the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, "Fear not, Abram, I am thy shield and thy exceeding great reward." And Abram said, Lord God, what will thou give me, seeing I go childless? And the steward of my house is this Eleaz of Damascus. And Abram said, Behold, to me, thou hast given no seed, and lo, one, born in mine house is mine heir. And behold, the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir, but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shalt be thine heir. Verse 5. And he took him forth abroad, and said unto him, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them. And he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. Verse six. And he believed what? In the Lord. and he counted it to him for righteousness. Abraham believed in the Lord. But look at verse one again closely. After these things, the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision. The Bible tells us, the word came to Abraham. Look at verse four. And behold, the word of the Lord came unto him. So, we're told the word came in a vision. Verse one, we're told the word came in verse four. But verse six says, Abraham believed in God. In other words, the only way to believe in God is to believe in his word. That's why faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Let me say
            • Segment 12: 22:30 - 25:00 it again. There are some Christians who
            • Segment 13: 25:00 - 27:30 believe they can lead a Christian life with the Bible closed. If the word of God has no place in your life, God has no place in your life. Faith in God is expressed through faith in his word. And so, Genesis 15:1, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision. Genesis 15:4, the word of the Lord came to him. But in Genesis 15:6, Abraham believed in God. Now God told him in verse 5 and verse 4, you will have a child of your own. The Bible tells us in Genesis 11 verse 3030, Sarah was barren. She could not have children. We know that before we read that God called Abraham. Sarah could not have children. And yet God told Abraham in Genesis 15:es 4 and 5, "Your children would be like the stars of the heaven." God expressed to Abraham something that in Abraham's mind would be impossible. But Abraham believed in God. Abraham had two choices. He can focus on Sarah's inability to have children or he can focus on the power of God. Did I say that clearly? Abraham could have continued worrying about how will I have a child? My wife cannot get pregnant. God said you'll have a child. Abraham chose to believe in God. This text verse 6 of Genesis 15 is the most powerful text in explaining righteousness by faith. Abraham I say again believed in God in Isaiah 45 verse 22. The book of Isaiah go there with me. Chapter 45 verse 22. Our subject, where is your faith?
            • Segment 14: 27:30 - 30:00 Is it in a doctrine, in a church building, or is it in a person? Do you have Isaiah 45 verse 22? The Bible says, "What? Look unto whom? Me and be saved all the ends of the earth. For I am and there is none like me. Look unto me, says God. I am your salvation. Go to John 14. Let's read from verse one. John chapter 14. Reading from verse one. Our subject, where is your faith? Do you have John 14 14 reading from verse one? It's a very familiar passage. You can say it without looking. Let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in me. Stop. Jesus says, "The same way you believe in God, believe in me." The Jews had no problem with God, they had a problem with Jesus. Let me say it again. The Jews had no problem with God the Father. They had a serious problem with the son Jesus. And Jesus tells them something that must have really caused them some problems. The same way you believe in God, believe in me. You believe in God, believe also in me. And so we're stressing again a person. That person is Jesus Christ. Go to Matthew 11. Matthew 11. Let's read verse 28. Matthew chapter 11, reading verse 28. When you found it, say amen. Come, come on, unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Now go back to John 14. From verse one, let's look at I again. John 14, reading from verse one. Our subject, where is your faith? And I'm trying to show you faith must be in a person.
            • Segment 15: 30:00 - 32:30 Are you back at John 14 from verse one? Let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in me. In my father's house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am, there you may be also. And so Jesus stresses the fact he is salvation. He himself in a very real way is heaven. Heaven begins now. Don't wait until the second coming when you catch some bus with wings and fly up into the skies. Heaven begins now. What is heaven? A relationship with Jesus Christ. That's when heaven begins. And so Jesus said, "You believe in the father, believe in me." Jesus said, "Come to me. I will give you rest." Jesus Christ is the place where our faith must be located. He is the object of our faith. Let me say it again. He is the target of our faith. He is the one where we place our faith in a man called Jesus who is also God. If that's clear, say amen. >> Without faith, it is impossible to please God. For he that cometh unto him must believe that he is our faith must be in a person and that person is Jesus Christ. Go to the book of Acts chapter 20. We'll begin reading at verse 17. We read about six or seven verses to get the connection. The book of Acts. Who wrote the book of Acts? Paul is a good suggestion, but not quite right. Who wrote Luke wrote the book of Acts? Yes. Luke wrote two books. Acts and what's the other one? Luke. Yes. You combine the two, they make up one quarter of the of the New Testament. Luke was a medical doctor. He was also a first class historian. Luke, not Luke, sorry. Acts 20, reading from verse 17. When you found it, say amen. Let me pray again. Dear God in heaven, as I
            • Segment 16: 32:30 - 35:00 continue, continue speaking through me, God, in the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen. And from my leaders, he sent to Ephesus and called the elders of the church. And when they were come to him, he said unto them, "Ye know from the very first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons, serving the Lord with all humility and fear because of the lying in weight and temptations because of the lying in weight of the Jews. And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but I've shued you and have taught you publicly and from house to house." Verse 21, testifying both to the Jews and also to the Greeks. Now, let's finish verse 21. Repentance, come on, toward God. Finish the verse. And faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. Now, the Greek word for toward can also mean into or in. The Bible tells us we must repent towards God the Father and have faith in Jesus. Notice how Paul describes him in Jesus our He is our atoning sacrifice. That's what Elawite calls him, the atoning sacrifice. Now listen to great controversy, page 467, paragraph 4. The Great Controversy, page 467, paragraph 4. We just read in the book of Acts chapter 20 21 repentance towards God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. When you see our Lord Jesus Christ, that's very very significant. I'll get back to great controversy in a minute. Faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. We have three words. Lord, Jesus, and Christ. Lord means someone who has authority over you. Many of us want Christ to be a savior but not a lord. As a savior, he gets us out of trouble. As a lord, he tells us how to live. We want him as a savior, not as a lord. And so we say, "I have given my life to you, Jesus. Don't tell me how to dress.
            • Segment 17: 35:00 - 37:30 I have given my life to you. Don't tell me how to eat. I'll decide that. But Jesus must be Lord. And so faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus. What does that mean? Savior. In Matthew 1:21, the angel told Joseph, "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus, for he shall save his people." Jesus means savior, one who saves, one who has salvation. Lord means someone who rules and commands and has authority. Jesus means someone who saves. Now Christ means anointed chosen which mean there's only one person who can save that person is Jesus g his name is not Jesus Christ his name is Jesus Christ is his work or his office the anointed one but they're so close he came to be called Jesus Christ but his name was Jesus is like his cousin John. His name isn't John the Baptist. His name is John. That's what God told the father to call him. But because he baptized so much, he was called John the Baptist. But Baptist was not his surname or his last name. So we have we must believe in Jesus our Lord who is also Christ. Lord, he has authority to tell us how to live. Jesus, he's a savior. Christ. He's the one chosen to save. No one else can save. And so, faith toward God and faith uh repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. Now, let's go to uh Great Controversy, page 467, paragraph 4. I'll give you a couple seconds to write that down. Great controversy, page 467, paragraph 4. Do you have that? Nobody answered the guest preacher. Do you have that? Did you write it down? All right. Listen to what Elite writes. The law reveals to man his sins, but it provides no remedy.
            • Segment 18: 37:30 - 40:00 While it promises life to the obedient, it declares that death is the portion of the transgressor. The gospel of Christ alone can free him from the condemnation and defilement of sin. Listen carefully. He must exercise repentance toward God whose law has been transgressed and faith in Christ the atoning sacrifice. When you say I believe in Jesus, you believe in a person who is both God and man, you believe in a person who made a sacrifice that perfectly satisfied all the demands of the law. When you believe in Christ, you believe in someone who voluntarily took your sins and your guilt >> on himself. So when you pray, "Father forgive me," the father can forgive you because of what Jesus did. >> Our faith has to be in a person. What's our subject? Where is your faith? The object, the object of our faith must be Jesus. But let me close by asking this question. What is the outcome of our faith? We have the object. What is the object of our faith? Jesus Christ. Have faith in him. Have faith in him. What is the outcome of that? Let us go to first Peter chapter 1. We read verse 5. 1 Peter chapter 1. We read verse 5 very very carefully. When you found it, let me know. Are you sure you found it? Read with me. Who are kept by the power of God through faith what? Unto salvation. Who are kept by the power of God? Through faith unto salvation. So where does faith take us? What does faith lead to? The salvation of that person. through faith unto
            • Segment 19: 40:00 - 42:30 salvation. Read verse nine of that same chapter. Do you have verse 9, 1 Peter 1. Read with me. Receiving the end of your even the salvation of your Yes. The word end means the outcome. Receiving the end of your faith. What is the purpose? What is where does faith culminate in the salvation of the soul? The object of faith is Jesus. The outcome of faith is the salvation of your soul. Go to Hebrews 10. We read 38 and 39. Our subject, where is your faith? Has anyone prayed for me and said, "Lord, put your words in that man's mouth." Did anyone pray? Ah, God bless you. Anybody else? No. Just ah, God bless you. Anybody? Yeah. Ah, God bless you. Just four people prayed for me. The rest of you just didn't pray for me. That's why I'm struggling. Okay. Hebrews chapter 10, reading 38 and 39. When you found it, let me know. Are you there? >> Read with me. Now the just shall live how? By faith. Stop. The just or the righteous shall live by faith. Where must our faith be? What did we say? In Jesus. Then when the just shall live by faith, how does the just live? By constant contact with Jesus. Finish the verse. But if any man draw back, my soul shall have what? No pleasure in him. In other words, I will not be pleased. Let me make sure you get this. Father in heaven, give me the right words, please. Look at 38. When you read the Bible, look at it. Now, the just shall live how? By faith. What is faith? Total trust in a person. Who is that? Jesus Christ the Savior. But now we have the opposite. If any man draw back, what does draw back mean? Look at the first part of the verse. The
            • Segment 20: 42:30 - 45:00 just shall live by faith. If any man draw back, what does draw back mean? Not have faith, give up the faith. My soul shall have no pleasure in him. What's the only way to please God? By faith. So God said, "When you step back from your faith, I no longer have pleasure in you." Now look at 39. I wish you'd read with me. But we are not of >> them that do what? >> Draw back unto >> what is predition? >> To be lost. Very good. To be lost. Destroyed. We are not of them who draw back. Now, do you see the expression draw back in verse 38? Do you see it? Yes. And if you draw back, God says what? I have no pleasure in you. That's verse 38. And the verse 39 says, we are not of them that draw back or lose faith, which leads to predition. But of them that believe, come on. To the saving of the soul. What's the object of faith? Tell me. >> No. No. What's the object of faith? Jesus. What's the outcome of faith? Salvation. Who's the only one who can save? Come on, quickly. Jesus. So, the object of your faith is Jesus the savior. Then the outcome is salvation. For by grace are you saved through faith. That not of yourselves. It is a gift of God. What's our subject? Where's your faith? >> Let me ask you now, where is your faith? Is your faith in the general conference president? By all means, pray for him, please. Is your faith in Pastor Sto? Pray for him. Treat him nicely. Invite him to lunch. Where is your faith in the guest preacher? Your faith must be in Jesus Christ. >> When that's what you do, what's the outcome? Come on. Salvation. But don't draw back.
            • Segment 21: 42:30 - 45:00 If you draw back, what does God say? My soul shall have no pleasure in you. And so we go to our very first text. The voice from heaven said, "This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased."
            • Segment 22: 45:00 - 47:30 Why was the father pleased with Jesus? Because Jesus had faith in the father. That's how we lived. Go to John chapter 8. John 8. Read verse 29. Well, before we read John 8, listen to the desire of ages, page 664, paragraph 4. Let me give it to you again. The desire of ages, page 664, paragraph 4. Listen very carefully. When you've written that down, let me know so I can continue. What book did I say? What page? 664. What paragraph? Four. Are you ready? Father in heaven, for the final time, give me power. Give me grace. Give me truth. I pray in Jesus name. Amen. Listen carefully. Jesus revealed no qualities, exercised no powers that men may not have through faith in him. His perfect humanity is that which all his followers may possess if they will be in subjection to God as he was. Jesus Christ was entirely submitted to the father. That's why in his human form he did such mighty miracles. He was entirely submitted to the father. Now let's see how Jesus talks about that submission. Now we go to John 8. Let's read verse 29. Our subject. Where is your faith? Where's our timekeeper? What time is it? 12:30. Oh, I'll finish shortly. Please don't panic. What book did I say? Come on, John. What chapter? What verse? I hope my friends in the basement, I hope you're still with us. And our friends online. John 8:29. Listen to how submitted Jesus was. And he that have sent me is with me. The father hath not left me alone. Why didn't the father leave him? For I do what? Always those things that please him.
            • Segment 23: 47:30 - 50:00 Thank you for saying amen. But did you understand why you said amen? Listen to the verse again. This is Jesus speaking. He that sent me is with me. The father has not left me alone. And Jesus tells us why the father never left him. I do always those things, come on, that please him. Not I do always those things that please my boyfriend or those things that please my girlfriend or those things that please my friends on the basketball court or my colleagues in the workplace or my friends in the classroom. I do those things that please him. Eli says if we live like that, the miracles Jesus did, we'll be able to do. Faith at its highest is total submission to a person. And that person is Jesus Christ. And so when Jesus met Paul on the road to Damascus and Jesus knocked him off the horse, Paul said, "Lord, what will thou have me to do?" That's how you and I must live. Our faith in a person. And so I ask you again as your brother, where is your faith? Is it in the Republican party? Is it in the Democrats? Is it in Trump's? Is it in the president of Puerto Rico? Where is your faith? It must be in Jesus because Jesus is both human and divine. He's man. He's God. He's creator. his savior. Put your faith in the one who said, "Let there be light." Put your faith in the one who said on the cross, "It is finished." Put your faith in the one who said, "I am the resurrection and the life." I am the resurrection. Jesus does not say, "I have life." What does he say? I am life.
            • Segment 24: 50:00 - 52:30 There are three things that God is in the Bible. He is life. He's light. And he's love. He does not have love, he is love. He does not have light, he is light. He does not have love light life. He is life. Now he is merciful. He is long-suffering. He is forgiving. But he is life. He is light and he is love. This is Jesus Christ. Where is your faith? Today I ask you in the presence of a holy God, put your faith in Jesus Christ. When you're tempted to sin, have your faith in the one who resisted every temptation Satan brought to him. Every temptation Satan brought, Jesus resisted. That's the one to believe in. Whatever your trial may be, you're going through a hard time like Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane, put your faith in the one who said, "I have overcome the world. Hang with me. I'll take you through." How many of you will say, "Father, thank you for your word. Help me to place my faith in Jesus Christ." Can I see your hand? Stand up with me if you're serious. Help me to place my faith in Jesus Christ. Let me say this. This applies to anyone of any age. If you're 6 years old, you understand about Jesus, place your faith in him. If you're 106, place your faith in Jesus Christ. He's the one who defeated Satan. There was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought. Who's Michael? Jesus Christ. He was the one who threw Satan out. Satan tried in the wilderness to get him to sin. He resisted. Christ gave up his life in the grave. The devil tried to keep him in the grave. Jesus came up. Put your faith in him. He is life. He's light. He's love.
            • Segment 25: 52:30 - 55:00 Colossians chapter 2:3 says, "All the wisdom and knowledge is in Jesus Christ." That's why Christ in us is the hope of glory. Heads bowed, eyes closed. Our father in heaven, we come to you in the name of Jesus Christ, your son, our savior. We thank you dear God for his sacrifice. We thank you for his victorious life. He never ever sinned. We thank you God that he voluntarily laid down his life. We thank you that God in some mysterious way he raised himself from the dead. And we thank you for his promise. He's coming again to take his people home. And who are his people, Father? Those who've placed their faith, their trust in him. Dear God, if there's a man or a woman listening to me whose faith has not been in Jesus, forgive that person, dear God, and let that person from this point on put her faith or his faith in Jesus Christ and renew that surrender every day. Let us accept the invitation. Come unto me, Jesus, a person, and I'll give you rest. Father, let the words spoken this morning remain in the hearts of your people and let this day mark a turning point in someone's life. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Let God's people say amen and amen. Before you say, don't move. Don't move. What will you take from the message? Raise your hand and tell us what will you take from the message? Raise your hand and tell us. Raise a hand. You have two of them. Yes. Yes. Go ahead. What did I say that you'll take with you? Something in the message. Yes. Say it again. >> My faith is in a person whose name is
            • Segment 26: 55:00 - 57:30 Jesus. And the word Jesus means savior. Yes. The result of placing your faith and keeping your faith in Jesus is salvation. Yes. Somebody else raise your hand. Yes. Yes, God is life. God is like, God is love. And Jesus is equal with the father. He who has the father has the son. Yes. God is life, light, and love. Somebody else. What? Yes. The object of our faith is >> You were too slow. The object of our faith is the outcome of our faith is salh. Very good. Very good. Very good. Anybody else? Yes. Say it again. >> Your faith is in Jesus. >> Yes, sister. Yes. Jesus is not only savior, he is lord. So when you say Jesus, deliver me from this quick sand, he pulls you out. Don't just tell him, "Thank you. I'll see you later." Tell him, "What will thou have me to do?" Let him be your Lord to guide your life the way he allowed the father to guide his life. One more. What? Yes. Well, two more. >> Yes, you. >> God has authority over us if we say we are his children. Yes, sister. >> He trusted his father 100%. We must trust Jesus 100%. >> I said one more. Two more. I'll take another one. What will you take from the message? Okay. Yes, we we have to submit. Listen to me carefully. Submitting is hard for the carnal nature. We must submit. Yes, if we do, we will be able to live that powerful life >> that resembles the life of Jesus Christ. Now, may the grace of our Lord Jesus
            • Segment 27: 57:30 - 60:00 Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us now and forever more. Let all God's people say, "Amen." And amen. God bless you.
