      Overview

Anthony from The Rag Company takes us on a drying towel discovery journey! First up, the 1500 towel, a super-sized 30x30 inch piece known for its incredible absorbency. This towel is perfect for drying large vehicles like trucks and boats but might be a bit too heavy-duty for smaller cars. With its massive 1500 GSM and 70/30 blend, it's the king of absorbency, though it can get quite heavy when soaked!

Next in line is the Liquidator, offering a balance between size and absorbency with a 1100 GSM. It's built similarly to the 1500 but designed for easier handling. Its appealing blue color and durable construct make it a customer favorite for those who find the 1500 a bit overwhelming. Whether drying a sedan or tackling wet surfaces, this towel brings efficiency to your drying tasks!

Let's not forget the Gauntlet and waffle weaves! The Gauntlet, with its plush and soft design, is gentle on delicate paints, and its particular mix of twist loops provides a satisfying drying experience. On the other hand, waffle weaves like the Dry Me A River have a shorter nap for direct water absorption, ideal for those who need durability in their towels. Whether you’re choosing based on color, material, or size, The Rag Company has just the drying towel to suit your needs!

            Chapters

            • 00:00 - 00:30: Video Introduction and Overview In this chapter, Anthony from the Rag Company introduces a video that will compare different drying towels. The goal is to help viewers decide which drying towel is best suited for their needs. He mentions the platform rag company.com, where customers can look for new drying towels to purchase. The video promises an overview of available options and their respective benefits.
            • 00:30 - 01:30: 1500 Drying Towel In the chapter titled '1500 Drying Towel,' the speaker addresses the confusion that consumers may face when selecting a drying towel from their detailing toolkit. The focus is on evaluating various drying towels, with the intent of identifying the most suitable option for individual needs. The speaker plans to provide a comprehensive breakdown of popular drying towels, highlighting their pros and cons. Key aspects such as GSM (grams per square meter), towel blends, and dimensions will be discussed, with the 1500 drying towel being the starting point. The goal is to simplify the selection process and help consumers make informed choices.
            • 01:30 - 02:30: Liquidator Drying Towel The chapter discusses a product known as the "Liquidator Drying Towel" available at the rag company.com. It emphasizes the large size of the towel, measuring 30x30 inches, and its high absorbency, with a density of 1,500 GSM. The towel is described as being particularly suitable for drying large surfaces such as trucks and boats, catering to those who require an effective drying solution for big projects.
            • 02:30 - 04:30: The Gauntlet Drying Towel The Gauntlet Drying Towel is highly absorbent, capable of drying two to three sedan-sized cars or two trucks before saturation. Known for its 70/30 blend and Twist Loop weave, the towel is durable with a hemmed edge. A noted downside is that it becomes quite heavy as it absorbs more water.
            • 04:30 - 06:30: The Big One Waffle Weave Drying Towel In this chapter, the focus is on comparing two products: 'The Big One Waffle Weave Drying Towel' and the 'Liquidator' from The Rag Company. The discussion highlights the features of each towel, emphasizing their style, the weave composition, absorbency, and manageability. Although the Liquidator has a lower GSM (grams per square meter) at 1100 compared to the 1500 GSM of The Big One, it remains a high-density and weight towel, suitable for those seeking an effective drying towel without the heft of the higher GSM.
            • 06:30 - 08:00: Dry Me a River Waffle Weave Drying Towel This chapter discusses the features and performance of the "Liquidator" towel, which is a dedicated drying towel. The key point is the blend of the fabric, which is a 70/30 mix, similar to the Twist Loop weave. The showcased size is 25x36, with other sizes available on the website. When compared to another towel referred to as the 1500, the Liquidator provides good absorbency and is comparable for most of the use. Ultimately, the 1500 outperforms in absorbency, but the Liquidator remains equally soft. The narrator shares a personal preference for the softness of the Liquidator.
            • 08:00 - 09:00: Pluffle Drying Towel The chapter introduces the Pluffle Drying Towel highlighting its features such as the blue color and hemmed edge that add to its durability, allowing it to withstand numerous washes. It also mentions another popular item, The Gauntlet drying towel, known for its patent and multiple available sizes, making it a favorite at the Rag Company.
            • 09:00 - 11:00: Twist Drying Towel The chapter discusses the 'Twist Drying Towel,' highlighting its unique checkerboard design, which is patented by TRC. This design combines a twist loop with a flared or plush loop, offering functionality and versatility. The towel is double-sided with different shades of gray and is bordered with a soft suede material, demonstrating a blend of performance and luxury.
            • 11:00 - 13:00: Car Wash Towel and Conclusion The chapter discusses the capabilities of The Gauntlet, a high-absorption towel. It emphasizes the towel's effectiveness in drying vehicles, including trucks and sedans, while noting that it may not be as absorbent as other models like the 1500 due to its 900 GSM compared to 500 in others. The piece highlights The Gauntlet's plush and safe pile, making it a preferred choice for specific drying needs.

            • 00:00 - 00:30 hey guys this Anthony with rag company and in today's video we're going to be giving you a drying towel comparison so I can help you figure out which drying towel is best for your [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] needs all right so you're at the rag company.com and you're currently looking for a new drying towel to add to your
            • 00:30 - 01:00 your detailing Arsenal but you're a little bit confused about all the different options and which is going to be the right towel for your needs so what I'm going to do today is give you a breakdown of these different drying towels some of our best sellers and then kind of tell you uh the pros and cons of some of them talk about GSM I'm going to talk about the blend of each towel as well as the size of each towel to figure out hey is this too big is this too small so I'm going to help make this easy for you we're going to start breaking it down starting over here with a 1500 why am I starting with the 1500
            • 01:00 - 01:30 well chances are you're probably looking at it at the website right now thinking is that towel too big for me and I'm here to tell you that this towel is massive it's a 30x30 in size and it comes in at 1,500 GSM hence the name now 1500 GSM is that a lot to handle I would say for most people yes however this is definitely our most absorbent towel that we have at the rag company.com we made this to dry off trucks to dry off boats and to dry off large surfaces this is
            • 01:30 - 02:00 going to do exactly that this towel could probably dry two to three normal sedan style cars whereas for trucks we're seeing about two trucks out of one towel before it becomes a little bit too saturated now the 1500's Fantastic it's going to be able to dry a ton it's got a 7030 blend with a Twist Loop weave it's got a hemed edge here and honestly it's a durable towel it's going to hold up to a lot of abuse the biggest trade-off is that it's going to get heavy with the more water it absorbs so let's just say
            • 02:00 - 02:30 you like the style you like The Weave you like how much it absorbs but you want something a little bit more manageable and that's why we're going to jump to the rag company's Liquidator next all right so the Liquidator contains the same exact weave as the 1500 the biggest trade-off is that it's going to be 1100 GSM versus 1500 but don't let that fool you because 1100 GSM is still pretty high again GSM stands for gram per square meter if you're not used to hearing that term which is essentially the weight and density of
            • 02:30 - 03:00 the towel what's most important is really going to come down to the blend itself which is going to be a 7030 blend on the Liquidator as well so a Twist Loop weave it comes in at a 25x 36 size with other sizes on the website as well but this is going to be our dedicated drying towel size now when comparing these two together I would say that the Liquidator can keep up with the 1500 for roughly 34s of that battle but the 1500 just kind of takes the cake in terms of absorbency but what's nice is that the the Liquidator is just as soft I love
            • 03:00 - 03:30 the color of the blue it's also has a hemmed edge here and it's going to be extremely durable and hold up to many many many washes all right so moving down the list here we have a TRC fan favorite and in-house favorite this is called The Gauntlet drying towel you may have heard of it this thing is a 30X 36 in size and comes in multiple sizes as well on the rag company.com but this is going to be our dedicated drying towel size now what's cool about the gauntlet is that first off it's patented this
            • 03:30 - 04:00 design on here that you can see this checkerboard design is patented by TRC and it's absolutely awesome it's very functional as well so it's going to be a combination of twist Loop and a flared twist Loop or a plush Loop if you want to call it that it once was a Twist Loop but now it's been turned into a plush pile giving you the best of both worlds now both sides here are different colors so you have gray on one side and you have a light gray on the other it's all held together with a butter soft suede uh border here and again this towel is
            • 04:00 - 04:30 an absolute Beast now in terms of absorption The Gauntlet is fantastic it's amazing it's going to absorb a lot this towel is going to be able to dry off a truck it's going to be able to dry off multiple sedans but I still don't think it's going to be as absorbent as the 1500 this thing comes in at 900 GSM this one comes in at500 again it's going to have a higher density here but the gauntlet is just awesome I would choose the gauntlet for something that I'm looking for a little bit more of a plusher safer pile now not that these
            • 04:30 - 05:00 two aren't safe it's just the gauntlet does have that plush pile making it extra soft for delicate paints so the gauntlet is amazing 7030 blend again 900 GSM you can't go wrong with it it's a fan favorite for a reason give it a shot see how you like it but now we're going to be moving on to some more simple towels from here we're going to bring it back to simpler times and that's because we're going to be talking about the big one waffle weave drying towel this guy right here has been around for a few years it's a 25x 40 in size and it's going to contain a 7030 blend with a
            • 05:00 - 05:30 7030 suede banded Edge now waffle weaves what's the deal with them well back in the day waffle weaves were the people love waffle weave drying towels and that's because they were all throwing away their shamies and looking for safe microfiber Alternatives that they could use on their vehicle and these just happen to be some of the most absorbent now waffle weave Construction in general is extremely durable these things can go through hundreds of vehicle washes and hundreds of machine washes in your home before they start to
            • 05:30 - 06:00 deteriorate now the trade-off here between a waffle weave structure and a Twist Loop design is that the waffle weave is going to be much more shallow in comparison meaning the pile itself of the towel is going to be more shallow it's not necessarily making it un safer but it's going to change the way that it dries meaning that this right here is going to take that brunt of water right off the bat into that direct surface whereas with something such as a Twist Loop or even an ultr plush towel that water can kind of disperse around the
            • 06:00 - 06:30 towel whereas kind of what you see is what you get when it comes to a waffle weave now the 7030 blend on this is going to be fantastic it's going to be a step up above the competition in most cases which are still using a lot of 8020 Blends but the 7030 blend in an affordable drying towel such as the big one which comes in at around 10 bucks is a deal that you can't beat but let's go ahead and jump into a waffle weave drying towel that was technically one of the first we brought out now do I see a glisten in your eye because it's sounds like you need
            • 06:30 - 07:00 a dry me a river this is going to be our biggest waffle weave drying towel that we sell this comes in at a 26x 59 and this thing is an absolute Beast the dry River was actually one of our first drying towels that we offered at the rag company.com we came out with this big boy right here and then we needed some smaller alternative so we came out with the dry River Jr which comes in at a 2040 now the big guy right here only comes in one color which is
            • 07:00 - 07:30 white but the other 20x 40 sizes come in white light blue and dark blue now the drve me River has been a fan favorite this came actually before the big one but people were using the dry me River for years uh for everything from drying their vehicle to drying uh their boat to drying uh themselves like seriously people actually use this thing as a bath towel and it works pretty dang good for that now again the dry me river is going to have a very short nap just like the big one if you're looking at picking up a lot of contaminants and a lot of contamination I recommend something with
            • 07:30 - 08:00 a deeper pile But ultimately these are going to be both great for drying your vehicle this guy right here can dry multiple sedans and it can be rung out if needed just because it's a little bit thinner and the GSM of this is going to be 390 GSM but now we got the waffle leaves out of the way we can move on to some different towels so we're going to jump from here straight to the pluffle this is going to be a combination of our Eagle edgeless towel and are driving a river they had a baby they created this and there's some other baby making that
            • 08:00 - 08:30 happen here that I'll talk about here in just a minute but this right here is a 7030 blend coming in at 480 GSM it's got a 7030 suede edge here and this towel is ultimately for delicate surfaces we tell people if you have the most corrected paint of corrected paint of corrected paint this is going to be the towel that you want to use to dry it um I use this on piano black trim I use this on very delicate black paint I use this on very delicate other paints out there Japanese paints and I've never had an issue with scratching or marring or anything of
            • 08:30 - 09:00 that nature these towels are absolutely amazing the trade-off though is that you might have a little streakiness due to the longer fibers of this towel however they're still going to be extremely absorbent so it's a hybrid weave that's the best way to describe it it's a great seller for us uh and it only comes in one color and it does come in multiple sizes so this is going to be the 20x 40 uh size if you want to pick this up at the rat company.com now from here we're jumping into the twist now the twist was named name the twist because it's kind
            • 09:00 - 09:30 of like the Mistress of towels it doesn't feel maybe as good it's not as pretty but it does things that some of our other towels don't and that's why people like it now the double twist is a 7030 blend it's got a 7030 suede Edge this thing right here is capable of drying an entire sedan and I honestly mean that it's freakishly good at what it does for its size and everything else considered especially compared to the other larger twists weaves this is going
            • 09:30 - 10:00 to contain a shorter pile twist Loop so when you hold these two together you can actually see that the twist pile is much lower than that of the Liquidator and that of the 1500 but that doesn't make it worse it actually makes it weirdly good and the fact that it's so dense it's going to absorb a lot now going back to things that the twist can do that other towels can't is that this twist is actually pretty thick and I mean that with two C's the Twisters comes in at 850 GSM
            • 10:00 - 10:30 let that sink in just for a minute 850 GSM again in the 400s right in the 400s 800 right that's why the absorbency that's why you can do all these crazy things it's because it's thick it's dense and it's very manageable you can ring this thing out all day long and you're going to have a blast all right so you've made it to the end of the video almost the end of the video and we have one more honorable mention and that's going to be the 16x 27 Car Wash
            • 10:30 - 11:00 towel now this isn't a dedicated drying towel but car washes around the country and around the world use this towel as their drying towel and that's why I thought I would mention it this is a 16x 27 an 8020 blend with an overlock Stitch Edge now this comes in at 320 GSM and honestly it does the job I tell people all the time that when in doubt car wash it out so these right here are extremely affordable more affordable than any of
            • 11:00 - 11:30 the towels that we have here on the table you could technically buy 10 of these for the cost of some of these other towels so if you're a fan of using multiple drying towels in your drying towel process pick up a ton of these you're going to have a good time again 320 GSM it's going to have a traditional Terry weave to it meaning that the pile is shorter these are going to be great for people that are let's just say doing spot cleanings or doing any type of panel by- panel washing where they don't want to introduce any type of towel or used bit of a towel back onto a surface
            • 11:30 - 12:00 that's where the car wash towel is going to come into play but these are extremely affordable again car washes love them and they're just great to have in your car I tell people that if you like going to a touchless wash or you like going to a spray and pay and doing it yourself have a few of these in your back seat just in case you never know where you're going to need to do any type of spot cleaning or spot drying so that's going to be the 16x 27 Car Wash tow again hopefully this was less confusing it's just kind of a matter of size preference uh color color preference the density the GSM The Weave
            • 12:00 - 12:30 preference there's a lot of different things to take into account when choosing your favorite drying towel but if I were to tell you any recommendations I would say start maybe with a liquidator before jumping into the 1500 I would say jump into the pluffle before jumping into something like the gauntlet and I would say to jump into the big one before jumping into uh the dry me river right these are all kind of great starting points but if you're looking for something just to get the job done the double twister man you can't go wrong with it it's an amazing amazing towel for the price the size and
            • 12:30 - 13:00 everything else so this would probably be my starting point but again there's kind of a teer here on where to jump to if you're wanting to move up in the drying towel world so hopefully you guys found this video helpful hopefully this information was helpful and as always if you guys enjoyed the video please make sure to give us a big thumbs up subscribe down below for more and stay tuned for more videos right here at the rag company
