AI SDK trace timing

By OpenTools Team

Live model spans precede the enclosing workflow tree.

Events

AI SDK 7.0.162 reports recorded WorkflowAgent events at completion or suspension, retaining original timestamps.1 The release’s November 3 UTC clock falls on November 2 in Toronto.

Bridge

The OpenTelemetry bridge uses the same OpenTelemetryIdGenerator instance for the tracer provider’s idGenerator and sampler, and new OpenTelemetry({ durable }).1 Model spans and nested provider requests appear live; the enclosing invoke_agent tree is rebuilt at completion. Without this bridge, existing live per‑model tracing remains.1
