Digital Moment separates AI literacy from classroom tool mandates

By OpenTools Team

An October 29 principles article explains educator judgment and system support within its existing framework.

Learn to question AI

Digital Moment’s principles article places AI literacy across subjects through inquiry, critical thinking and ethics. The article explains an existing framework still being refined, without announcing a curriculum mandate. Learning to evaluate AI does not require treating every lesson as an AI‑tool exercise.

Support the decision‑maker

Educators retain decisions about teaching and assessment. The article calls for professional learning, collaborative time, infrastructure, guidance and resources around them. Questioning whose interests an AI system serves is a literacy task; deciding whether it belongs in an assessment remains a teaching decision.

Original explanatory diagram: educator judgment and system support are distinct responsibilities in Digital Moment’s principles, not evidence of classroom outcomes.
