Suni Williams Shatters Female Spacewalk Record, Redefining Possibilities in Space Exploration
NASA astronaut Suni Williams has made history by setting a new record for cumulative spacewalk time by a woman, totaling an impressive 62 hours and 6 minutes. During her ninth spacewalk, Williams, alongside fellow astronaut Butch Wilmore, managed to dismantle radio communications hardware and gather microbe samples from the International Space Station's exterior. Her remarkable achievement surpasses the previous record set by Peggy Whitson in 2017. Despite delays in their return caused by technical issues with the Boeing Starliner spacecraft, Williams and Wilmore are scheduled to return to Earth via SpaceX in late March.
