FakeYou turns text into character audio using community-created voices. It also has voice-conversion and voice-creation tools. Start with the type of input and the intended use: a personal character clip, a voice experiment and a commercial voiceover have different requirements.

Is FakeYou free?

The official pricing page, checked September 15, 2026, advertises free feature access. Paid subscriptions buy higher processing priority and longer audio limits. The free offer does not establish unlimited output length, guaranteed turnaround or commercial permission.

The TTS page advertises more than 3,500 community-created voices. The collection changes, and FakeYou says quality varies between community models. A large library is useful for exploration; it is not a quality guarantee for every voice.

What do Plus, Pro and Elite include?

• Plus — $12 per month: normal processing priority; TTS output up to 30 seconds; voice-to-voice audio up to 4 minutes.
• Pro — $25 per month: faster priority; TTS output up to 1 minute; voice-to-voice audio up to 5 minutes; private-model uploads.
• Elite — $40 per month: fastest priority; TTS output up to 2 minutes; unlimited voice-to-voice audio as listed; private-model uploads and sharing.

All three paid cards advertise unlimited TTS generation with the per-output length limits above. Unlimited generations does not mean an unlimited-length audiobook or a guaranteed processing time. The provider displays a dollar sign without naming a currency; confirm the currency, current plan and renewal terms at checkout.

A useful way to choose is to test a short permitted script first, then pay only if the voice works and a longer output or higher priority matters. Private-model access and a paid subscription do not by themselves establish commercial rights.

Text to speech, voice conversion or voice creation?

Use text to speech when the starting point is a written line. Search for a voice, select it and enter the script. Use voice conversion when the input is a recording and the job is to change its voice. Provide only material you are authorized to use.

The Creator Tools page also lists Voice Designer in beta, F5-TTS voice cloning and Seed-VC voice conversion. Check the chosen tool's own requirements before preparing recordings. A saved private model is different from a ready-to-use commercial voice license.

How to check a short sample

1. Write one or two original sentences for a non-commercial experiment. Include the names, numbers and punctuation that are likely to need attention.
2. Search for and select a voice on the TTS page, enter the text and choose Speak.
3. Listen for pronunciation, omitted words, unnatural pauses and changes in volume. Try clearer punctuation or a shorter sentence if delivery is awkward.
4. Review the finished audio before downloading or sharing. FakeYou describes playback, download and sharing in its TTS workflow; it says a free account can save history.
5. If no usable result appears, check the selected voice and current service status before paying. A higher-priority plan is not proof that a particular voice or script will work.

These are suggested checks based on the documented workflow. We have not generated comparison samples or tested paid exports.

Can you use FakeYou in monetized videos or ads?

The provider's terms limit ordinary use to non-commercial projects, with exceptions only for specially designated commercial voices where permitted. They prohibit impersonation and deception and require published uses to be labelled deep fake. Do not assume a recognizable voice is cleared for a sponsored video, advertisement, released game or audiobook.
