What is the correct format of the email?

Ensure the first URL link in the body of your email is the article link you want summarized. The subject line, other contents, and signature do not matter.

How (and why) would I cc my friends?

By cc'ing your friends in the email you send to go@skimit.ai, they will also receive the original article from you and the AI-generated summary from SkimIt.ai.

What's powering the AI wizardry behind the scenes?

Our AI processing is powered by OpenAI's GPT technology.

Is the AI-generated content accurate? Can I rely on it?

No, this is a fun project, and we accept no responsibility for the content generated by the AI. The tool is for entertainment purposes only.

How do you store my data?

We retain the email address that sent the request, any cc'd email addresses, and the first URL sent within the email. No other content within the email is retained.

SkimIt.ai was built by Karthik Sridharan and Alex Furmansky as a fun hackathon project to practice AI text processing, email handling, and web scraping.

1. Find an article you want summarized. 2. Share the article link by emailing it to go@SkimIt.ai. 3. Ensure the article link is the first URL link in the body of the email. 4. Optionally, cc your friends to share the article and summary with them. 5. Receive the AI-generated summary in your inbox within ~10 minutes.
