April 7, 2025 — Ministry Workers Summary Transcription
- 00:00 - 00:30 hey ministry workers Uh wanted to take a moment and follow up on our ministry workers meeting that we held on Zoom And unfortunately we didn't get it recorded And so I wanted to touch base and send this out as a summary of what we covered so that everyone's in the know I know some of you are not able to join us Um as we do continue to go forward Uh try to note those uh those future dates uh we have one coming up in July uh as a
- 00:30 - 01:00 quarterly uh ministry worker meeting and uh note that on your calendar and let's plan to um join together there I wanted to start off by mentioning uh we were on Sunday in Nehemiah chapter number 8 and we ended the service with and the Sunday morning service with really focusing on how that God's people and the leaders of God's people had a reverence for the word of God And in Nehemiah 8 and verse number 13 it says "And on the second day
- 01:00 - 01:30 that they gathered together uh they were gathered together the chief uh the fathers of all the people the priests and Levites unto Ezra the scribe even to understand the words of the law Even understand the words of the law." So they had gathered together and basically said as leaders we want to know we want to know more And the thought I wanted to challenge us all with was this just this reality is that uh the people had a reverence for the word of God and took
- 01:30 - 02:00 action out of that reverence uh really because the leaders had a reverence for the word of God and all of us in uh the work of the ministry um become leaders in in a in our church Um people are following your influence Whether you're a Sunday school teacher you sing in the choir you work in the nursery you do safety whatever you do you have an influence on people um by nature of serving in the ministry And I want to encourage you um how is your reverence for the word of God and how are others
- 02:00 - 02:30 seeing that what is the testimony of your reverence for the word of God do people others see you um having that reverence as you gather in the auditorium to hear the preaching of the word do they see you in the auditorium and receiving the preaching of the word and I want to encourage us all as ministry um workers to have that reverence because that is contagious Other people are going to be led by that And so I encourage you as a leader in our church to have that reverence and allow God to do that deep work in your heart um so that we all together can be
- 02:30 - 03:00 good examples of the believers uh in our appreciation and our our fear of and our reverence toward the word of God and ultimately the God of the word We always want to cultivate that We never want to just serve the Lord um and be busy like a Martha about the the work of the ministry and not be like a Mary who is reverencing the very word Jesus Christ and sitting down at his feet and receiving it and taking it in So just
- 03:00 - 03:30 take that as an encouragement I know that's something that's important in my life I need to make sure that um that I on a daily basis am really revering and allowing my life to revolve around the word of God and really my influence um will be greatly impaired if I do not uh maintain that in my own life So I want to encourage you about the same thing and uh thank you for your heart for the Lord and for serving the Lord in this
- 03:30 - 04:00 place It's a wonderful privilege to be able to serve the Lord together There were a few things that we mentioned inside of the the workers meeting First of all the safe haven policy that we went over in the February um ministry meeting If you have not yet read that and affirmed that you read that that needs to happen That's a very important point that needs to happen So let's go ahead and take care of that even today Let's let's give yourself a deadline Let's get that done That is a mandatory
- 04:00 - 04:30 thing All of our ministry workers need to read the safe haven policy and agree to it Um so that's going to be in this email Look for that link Um follow through on that Let's let's uh take care of that Then along with the safe haven policy all of our forms perhaps it's an incident form or a a event request form those forms that are mentioned inside of the safe haven policy are available in one place I want you to take a look at that Um follow the link in this email Uh
- 04:30 - 05:00 follow the link to that but you'll find all the forms related to safe haven policy that you need uh in one place save that um that link on your desktop or on your phone um so that you can get access to that So we don't have print forms we have digital forms Then I wanted to encourage all of you to be involved in our outreach this Saturday April the 12th at 9:00 a.m We start with a pancake breakfast and then we're going to go out and we're going to take the fresh start flyers out into the
- 05:00 - 05:30 community and we're going to canvas and we're going to reach out with the with the gospel um to people So I encourage you to be doing that throughout the throughout the week even on your own time Go in your own neighborhood but we're going to do that together on Saturday And here's another um way that you can just help continue to um uh lead the church forward is your very presence at on Saturday is an influence to others And I want to encourage you to think that way It's not just about you being there but you are influencing others to take part in the outreach of the church
- 05:30 - 06:00 And I and I value that I value your influence in that way So let's help out together I hope you have some of these in your car and in your purse and you're you're ready You're passing them out inside of them They have all the information about Easter and about upcoming um adventure camp and other details about the church along with the offer of free Bible study So we're going to be passing those out on Saturday Uh we're going to be stuffing eggs this weekend and and so a lot of great things that are going to be happening We need your need your help with that If you have uh people in your sphere of
- 06:00 - 06:30 influence in the church please invite them to be a part of that on Saturday send a text to them and say "Hey I'm going to be there Would you come join me?" Uh maybe it's your class Would you come join me maybe it's your your disciple Would you come join me in in the outreach i'm going to be there and I believe we'll have a very profitable morning together as a church family It'll be a wonderful way to fellowship as well And then wanted to mention uh let's continue to use the band app for u ministry communication Make sure that we're communicating absences on band if
- 06:30 - 07:00 you're can't make it to uh your nursery or to your your Sunday school class let's communicate those absences in on your particular band Also when you sign up for band or you're on band in the Grace Connect um side which is the the general area of connection or in your uh other specific bands please use your full name and a a a um accurate picture or a uh a recent picture um for your uh your profile that helps uh other others
- 07:00 - 07:30 get to know you Uh they see your name associated with your picture So don't use like a an avatar or a comicky picture Um use use an actual picture on band That's a help uh just to help continue to assimilate one another Help newer folks that don't know everyone to be able to see a name associated with a picture So that's a that's a helpful thing And then if your area of ministry uses a name tag children's ministry uh uh greeters if if they use a name tag
- 07:30 - 08:00 please make sure to wear that when you are serving Um that's an important reminder um for all of us But that is a mandatory thing that that's that's expected So you take that initiative put that name tag on when you're serving And the reason why behind that is when you walk into a store and you see name tags you identify that that's a person who's supposed to be working I can ask them for help And just like that when uh when newer folks walk into our church and they're wondering where do I go who's who's um real here whom I drop them off
- 08:00 - 08:30 my kids to we want them to see that name tag either adventure um kids club or whatever that the case may be Um we want them to see that name tag and be able to spot those that are working And so please help me out with that Make sure that you're wearing your name tags Um and just follow through on that That was most of the things that we covered We also took time for testimonies So uh if you have those testimonies please just share them among one another Let's encourage ourselves in the Lord
- 08:30 - 09:00 Testimony I got to share was that I got to lead our our church neighbor to the Lord this past Thursday Uh 69 years of age She trusted Jesus Christ She just recently lost her husband and I'm grateful for um for that Grateful for the new members that have joined our church and are looking forward to serving in the work of the ministry Uh so we praise the Lord for that Well I trust the Lord is um blessing you and that you're leaning on him for strength and don't lean to yourself Lean on him and he will give you the strength um that is needed Uh don't be discouraged
- 09:00 - 09:30 Satan wants to discourage you and tell you that your your area of ministry doesn't really matter all that much It it really really does matters a whole lot It matters to God and uh Grace Baptist Church would not be the same without your area of ministry And uh I I believe that every every part matters So thank you for serving and thank you for enduring even hardship uh in order to serve Thank you for sacrificing May the Lord continue to bless you and strengthen you Uh we'll look forward to
- 09:30 - 10:00 seeing you soon God bless you
