            • 03:00 - 03:30 Satan because he has received power so the same thing happened to us when we there's a difference between our experience as salvation and another experience when we are filled with the Holy Spirit yes So you know uh what a joy no what a joy to be filled with the Holy Spirit how many time the scripture says be filled with the Holy Spirit it's not just one experience is many you know I
            • 03:30 - 04:00 know I don't want to preach another message so wait a second you just said that yes you just said that it made me excited about this scripture in second Corin um second Corinthians um let's go to uh verse uh chapter 1 verse 22 2 Corinthians 1:22 all right and it says "And he has identified us as his
            • 04:00 - 04:30 own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment." First installment that guarantees everyone everything he has promised us so you you know you were just talking about that and so I wanted to mention that the Holy Spirit it says it's a first installment of what has been promised to us and you know this wasn't even in my notes to go into because I want to go through the difference I really focusing on salvation and the
            • 04:30 - 05:00 baptism of the Holy Spirit but to your point of people being able to be filled be filled with the Holy Spirit when the apostles were praying in um the place was shaken it says they were filled with the Holy Ghost now we know they were already filled with the Holy Ghost because they you know you can see that in the Bible they were already filled with the Holy Ghost they were tongue talkers already and yet when they prayed and the place was shaken it says again they were filled with the Holy Ghost and so anyway that's a complete side note
            • 05:00 - 05:30 and it's a whole another teaching like you said and we want to get into you know if you go back to the scripture in book of act there's a different or maybe in the kingdom of god you know I'm going to invite you know we we have another program coming up get I'm getting excited for this program and u uh we have a lot of programs so you know the you know the Bible says there's a there's a many there's different ranking you know or places in
            • 05:30 - 06:00 the realm of the spirit all right so so God doesn't want see the more the more you pray in the spirit the more God take you higher that's why he's telling us you know be filled with the Holy Spirit there's a different levels okay in the spiritual realm so the more you have you spend more time with the Holy Spirit will he will take you higher you know what I'm saying for example Apostle Apostle John you know God says "Come up higher." It is by the
            • 06:00 - 06:30 spirit of God that he saw the vision that he saw it is the spirit of God that revealed told him Yeah things of the future yeah so okay i don't want to I don't want to cut you off but No I'm excited for this we may be on this topic for another 25 i know i'm looking at my notes i'm like I we got to get through these all right cuz I want to get into this so I'm going to start with just the basics of the baptism of the Holy Spirit right at the beginning of books of the
            • 06:30 - 07:00 book of Acts um Acts 1 verse 5 now I just I want to in case you're new to this share the background here so Jesus has already died on the cross he's rose from the dead he is talking to his disciples and he told them not to leave Jerusalem until he sends the gift he promised the Holy Spirit verse five so Acts 15 it said he says "John baptized with water but in just a few days you
            • 07:00 - 07:30 will be baptized with the Holy Spirit." Now the reason I wanted to mention this and that it's important is the disciples were already saved they already knew Jesus was this the Messiah they knew he had died and he had been raised from the dead which we know is necessary for salvation right and he says "Okay you have that now wait for the baptism of the Holy Spirit which happens in Acts chapter 2 we're not going to go there right now because we will touch on that in just a minute um but I want to share
            • 07:30 - 08:00 the second a second example of that because sometimes people will say "Oh that was just for the disciples not everyone else does it the baptism of the Holy Spirit?" We're going to go through lots of examples but I want to share one other one that I just thought was really good when it's talking about specifically about the baptism of the Holy Spirit and I just lost the scripture um so this but it is in it's what I know it's in
            • 08:00 - 08:30 Acts chapter 10 because that's where it talks about Cornelius oh no but that's not the one I was going to i was going to um well anyways I'm going to tell you what it says and then I'll find the scripture and get it and give it to you but it's when Peter is he is sharing um what had happened right when he preached the gospel to Cornelius as he's
            • 08:30 - 09:00 preaching the gospel this is in Acts chapter 10 the Holy Spirit filled falls and they're all filled with the Holy Spirit and begin speaking in tongues and so he's sharing this encounter with the leaders of the church and he said "When this happened I remembered that Jesus said that he would baptize people in the Holy Spirit." Right so he recognized this separate experience called the baptism of the Holy Spirit and so um the
            • 09:00 - 09:30 Bible talks about that separate baptism of the Holy Spirit and we can see that separate experience throughout the book of Acts so I'm going to go through several different scriptures we're going to talk about some things some mistings and then also show you that different experience um that happens so Acts 2:4 I mentioned that's when the Holy Spirit comes on the dis um everyone in the upper room there's 120 people actually in the upper room it wasn't just um the
            • 09:30 - 10:00 disciples and they all pray in the Holy Spirit and they when they be get filled with the Holy Spirit not only do they pray in tonesues and I think this is important is that they do pray in tonesues and that causes everyone to come around but Peter has a boldness now upon him that he didn't have before now keep in mind just a short while ago he was denying Jesus and running away scared now he felt bad about it right but he wasn't be he was not being bold
            • 10:00 - 10:30 he wasn't facing death with boldness or right but once he received the Holy Spirit he receives that boldness and then he begins sharing this is what was prophesied by Joel this was going to happen now this is an important piece because sometimes people say oh this is this was just for the apostles in the early church because it was needed to get going well that's not true um Acts 2:38 tells us let's just flip there
            • 10:30 - 11:00 really quick acts 2:38 it says uh Peter replied "Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins then you will receive the Holy Spirit." Next verse uh verse 39 this promise is to you to your children and to those far
            • 11:00 - 11:30 away all didn't say some talking about the Holy Spirit here all who have been called by the Lord our God now he is he's sharing this go back and read all of Acts chapter 2 he's sharing this in response to them hearing them speak in tongues and he's like "No they're not drunk as you think it's too early for them to be drunk this is the promise of the Bible and guess what this is for you and your children's children and everyone who is ever going to be called
            • 11:30 - 12:00 by everyone who's been called by God everyone it's for everyone all right next so now we're going to jump on um to Acts chapter 8 and and we're going to start in verse 12 so let's go to 8:12 so this this um is a good example again of the difference between salvation and being filled with the Holy Ghost and it being two separate experiences so Acts 8 um and I'm going to start in verse 12 to
            • 12:00 - 12:30 show you that they accepted the Jesus uh so but now the people believed Philip's message of good news concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ as a result many men and women were baptized now let me ask you a question does that scripture tell clearly tell us that they had received salvation and been baptized in the name of Jesus yes or no yes yes it does all right so they weren't filled with the Holy Spirit at the moment of salvation
            • 12:30 - 13:00 let's go fast forward into uh the chapter let me get up to where it is all right so then um I'm going to start reading in verse 15 um so the apostles heard in verse 14 it tells us the apostles heard about them accepting the word so now Peter and John come and it says as soon as they arrived they prayed for these new believers to receive the Holy Spirit the
            • 13:00 - 13:30 Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them for they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus pause again they had been saved they'd been baptized in the name of Jesus but they did not have the Holy Spirit yet the scripture clearly says that so now verse 17 says "Then Peter and John laid their hands upon these believers and they received the Holy Spirit." So now I'm going to pause and just recap that Philip goes he
            • 13:30 - 14:00 preaches the gospel he gets people baptized in the name of Jesus the disciples are excited about what's going on so they send Peter and John down to help peter and John get there and they're like "Hey no one's been filled with the Holy Spirit yet so we're going to lay our hands on them and pray for them to be filled with the Holy Spirit." Clearly two separate experiences there is salvation remember last week we talked about how salvation is building a brand new house right the old man passed
            • 14:00 - 14:30 away you become a new man it's building that new house and then when you're filled with the Holy Spirit it's when the Holy Spirit comes to live in that new house overflowing rivers of living water coming out of that new house that has been built so all right do you Did you Were you going to say something before I go to the next all right so so we touched on this briefly um but I am going to flip there acts chapter 10 um this is Cornelius and his house
            • 14:30 - 15:00 now this I'm just wanted to point out one thing in in this Acts 10 verse 44 uh actually verse 45 all right so he's preaching the word that the spirit of God falls on them and they begin to speak in tongues the Holy Spirit fell on all who were listening verse 44 and then verse 45 it says "The Jewish believers who
            • 15:00 - 15:30 came with Peter were amazed that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles too." Verse 46 "For they heard them speaking in other tongues and praising God." So how did they know that they had received the gift of the Holy Spirit what did it say how did they know because they heard them speak in tongues they knew that the evidence of them being filled with the Holy Spirit was that they spoke in
            • 15:30 - 16:00 tongues right absolutely that's Go ahead amen no no we keep going i don't want to I don't want to interrupt you well let's I don't want to take over so you That's clearly what the Bible says there all right so now let's go to um Acts 19 in um verse 5 and then we're going to go actually wait hold that thought let's go to Acts 9 first because I want to talk about Paul
            • 16:00 - 16:30 for a second before we talk about what Paul did let's go to Acts 9 and I'm just going to set this story up a little bit for you in case you're not familiar with it so Paul is persecuting the church you know we know he consented to Steven's death he was holding coats while they stoned him so he is now on a mission to imprison Christians and so he's on his way um to imprison some more Christians and Jesus appears to him and says "Why are you coming against me why are you
            • 16:30 - 17:00 fighting against me?" Right and Paul's like "Who are you Lord?" And he says "I'm Jesus." Um and I I just love that because people he was coming against he was coming against Christians yeah and Jesus was like "If you're coming against them that's you're coming against me personally." Right amen so he Paul becomes blinded blinded and then God comes to Ananas and says "Ananas you need to go lay your hands." But do you know before you you we get into that
            • 17:00 - 17:30 uhhuh something that I observe in that story you know that event that took place the Bible says let's go read that story okay and when when God spoke to him okay the Bible says a voice spoke to him in the Hebrew language okay and Apostle Paul saw you know he had his servant with him the Bible says they heard a a sound but
            • 17:30 - 18:00 they don't understand the meaning the Holy Spirit is the master communicator you know what I'm saying no I was I was that's I get it i was excited when I when you know when they experienced they heard a voice this guy they know how to speak Hebrew Hebrew they heard the the voice and spoke in Hebrew but they heard a sound a sound because but they have no meaning they don't understand what was said to him

            • 24:00 - 24:30 Holy Spirit." He lays his hands on him says "Be filled with the Holy Spirit." And we know Paul is filled with the Holy Spirit and speaks in tonesues 1 Corinthians 14:18 Paul says "I thank my God I speak in tonesues more than you all." again proof that everyone can speak in tongues because that would have been really mean of Paul to say if it wasn't something everyone could do and you know we didn't have he was expecting but he noticed that people were not doing it yeah well and and I think we
            • 24:30 - 25:00 didn't have time to get into this time um the difference between every believer can have the gift of praying in tongues which is you praying to the father jude 20 says that you know that that's we're interceding see I'm get excited i'm get excited to start speaking go ahead start speak okay all right let's maybe for sake of time this is so beautiful you know one of the highest way to make the devil
