In the fascinating world of Baldur's Gate 3, fans have long wondered about the alternate storylines lurking beneath what we already know. This video brilliantly dissects such a scenario, presenting a narrative where all origin characters meet their untimely demise right aboard the Nautiloid. What transpires is a riveting tale of power, betrayal, and unexpected alliances, once the thread of fate unravels and familiar faces are left out of the picture.
The game shifts its narrative focus to loir, a lesser-known but equally resilient Githyanki fighter who steps into the void left by the heroes. With all eyes on the astral prism, the storytelling takes an unexpected turn with various factions vying for power. The Goblins and the Emperor each play monumental roles, keeping the plot dynamic and players at the edge of their seats as events unfold in unforeseeable ways.
In a world bereft of its usual saviors, villains Krick, Gort, and even the Emperor jostle for supremacy. The story creeps along with alternating successes and failures, betrayals, and alliances, painting a vivid picture of what could be. Ultimately, this narrative muse leaves one questioning the bounds of destiny and the ultimate triumph of the so-called villains when left unchecked. Chapters
00:00 - 00:30: Boulder's Gate 3 Protagonists' Fate The main story of Boulder's Gate 3 revolves around origin characters disrupting the plans of the villainous Dead 3. The narrative explores a scenario where all protagonists die before the story begins, raising questions about the villains' potential success, the execution of the iths' plans, and the significance of the astral prism. The chapter sets the stage aboard the nautiloid, where crucial narrative elements begin to unfold.
00:30 - 01:00: Loir's Journey In this chapter, Loir, a GI Yankee fighter, becomes the central focus as the only non-origin character aboard the nautiloid who aims to retrieve the Relic from the hells. The astral prism, which holds significance in the game, is currently where every origin hero might have perished. Shadowart's corpse holds the Relic, and Loir's task is to reach the transponder. Loir's significance arises when the player does not choose Lasel during their playthrough, thus he steps in as the backup. Despite being an NPC, Loir successfully battles through the challenges of the tutorial, highlighting his prowess and determination to fulfill the mission.
01:30 - 02:00: The Goblins and the Astral Prism The chapter revolves around a series of events involving the nautiloid, a type of extra-planar ship, and several key characters. The protagonist of this part of the story faces a critical moment where they activate a transponder on the nautiloid, transporting it to a location called Fyon. A character named Loir falls from the nautiloid during this transition, leading to his unfortunate demise on the beach. Notably, the Emperor, a key figure, chooses not to save Loir, though the reasons remain ambiguous. Despite Loir's tragic end, his actions ensure that Shadow Heart's body, along with the crucial astral prism she carries, is safely transported to Fyon. This astral prism is suggested to be of great significance, as the story hint that the most pivotal character in Baldur's Gate 3 is the one who possesses the artifact. The narrative concludes with an open-ended question regarding who might eventually discover the artifact.
02:00 - 02:30: Menara's Quest In this chapter titled 'Menara's Quest', the goblins are tasked with searching a crash site. They discover a dead mine Flare among the debris and decide to take it back to their camp for questioning. Not far from their search point lies the corpse of Shadow Heart, which is crucial as it holds the astral prism. There's a possibility that the goblin search party may overlook this critical item due to incompetence, leading the emperor himself to step in and search for a prison Bearer. This scenario is supported by instances where the astral prism automatically teleports to the player in a cut scene if Shadow Heart is ignored during gameplay, signaling the emperorโs strategy of choosing allies solely based on their connection to the Tad.
03:00 - 04:00: Menara's Fate The chapter "Menara's Fate" revolves around Menara, a character who is pivotal to the unfolding narrative. Menara succeeds in retrieving an astral prism, a task typically obstructed by the protagonist of the game. With the prism in her possession, she embarks on a journey to the moonrise Towers, traveling under the ominous shadow of cursed lands. Her journey is facilitated by joining a drier Caravan, which helps her reach her destination. Upon arrival at the moonrise Towers, she hands over the prism to a character named Krick. This act allows Menara to escape her usual death sentence and sets her on a new mission to check up on Bazar, signaling a shift in her role and possibly her fate as new events unfold.
04:00 - 05:30: Krick's Plan and Betrayal In this chapter, the cultists, led by Krick, are tasked with aiding a mission instead of their usual search endeavors. They track down a character named Bazar who resides in the Melum, and they are assigned the challenging task of completing the Gauntlet of Sh, a series of difficult trials. Despite the difficulty and their lack of intelligence, the goblins are considered disposable, making the task feasible for them.
Moreover, there's mention of a character named Jurer, who also poses a formidable challenge. However, the Moonrise group has ample soldiers to support Manthara, who is already proven to be competent enough for the task.
Within the Shadowfell, a significant plot point occurs where the pair successfully secures the Nightsong for the cult. Upon returning to Moonrise, Zerel gives orders to sack the Last Light and to bring a person named Isabelle into the Absolute's Embrace. This indicates a betrayal and a plan to fortify the cult's power.
05:30 - 06:30: The Army March and Betrayal Revealed The chapter titled "The Army March and Betrayal Revealed" involves Menara who has insider knowledge on the location of a raid. The chapter details the absolute's forces executing a brutal attack on "Last Light" with a specific goal to help Marcus capture Isabelle alive. It is revealed that after this mission, Menara is promised a meeting with Krick Thorm at the top of a tower. The chapter concludes with a suspicion gathered from guards' rumors that several individuals who previously attended an audience with Krick Thorm never returned, suggesting Menara might also face the same fate.
07:00 - 08:00: Krick's Weakness Exploited In this chapter, the protagonist is betrayed by Krick and captured as she no longer has the prism for protection. She is taken to a colony where Bazar turns her into a zombie, ending her stint as the protagonist. However, Krick's plans succeed as he joins forces with Isabelle, Gort, and Orin, with the astral prison in their possession. Gort is established as the one who initiated the search for the prism after seeing it in a dream. The group remains unaware of the prism's functionality, although they are now in possession of it.
08:30 - 09:30: The Emperor's Influence The Emperor's Influence: The chapter reveals the nefarious plans of the main antagonists. They plot to cause chaos in the city, with Gorach taking advantage of the mayhem to seize control of the city government. Simultaneously, Krick leads an army, intensifying the threat. The schemes are uttered aloud by the cosplaying Power Rangers trio, emphasizing their brazen confidence in their twisted ambitions.
10:30 - 11:30: Gort's Rise to Power The chapter "Gort's Rise to Power" delves into Gort's strategic maneuvering to become a hero and leader within the city, Balder's Gate. Initially, Gort devises a plan to save the city alongside soldiers, earning admiration and the trust required to govern with Cath and Orin, who would hold slightly inferior positions. However, the plan goes awry due to the ambitious nature of his allies. Both Cath and Orin are characterized as power-hungry and unable to share control, jeopardizing Gort's vision of power-sharing governance. The narrative hints at betrayal, with Krick explicitly declaring intentions to betray his allies, and Orin similarly plotting behind the scenes. The chapter presents a dynamic of political intrigue and the inevitable clash of ambitions among Gort and his peers.
12:00 - 13:00: The Nether Brain Confrontation The chapter titled 'The Nether Brain Confrontation' details a grim scene where General Krick Thorm leads the Absolute's Army in a ruthless march toward the city. Innocent refugees trapped within Rivington are brutally slaughtered, and the city's gates come under siege. Disloyal citizens and political rivals of the leader, Gorach, are deliberately placed at the frontline as cannon fodder, highlighting a brutal strategy to ensure the obedience of Baldur's Gate's populace in the future. The chapter vividly describes the overwhelming power of the Absolute's Army as they overpower checkpoint guards, bringing chaos and destruction to the inhabitants of the city.
13:30 - 14:30: The Elder Brain's Plan The chapter titled 'The Elder Brain's Plan' reveals the strategic dynamics within krick's forces as they approach worm Rock's Fortress. It becomes evident that krick's betrayal plan was poorly conceived from the outset. Gort, the mastermind behind the operations, orchestrated major moves like stealing the crown and distributing the nether Stones, with the Absolute's Army intentionally positioned to lose the war. This strategy sets the stage for Gort's ultimate plan to emerge as a hero amidst the chaos. Faced with the formidable resistance of loyal guards, a nearly impregnable fortress, and the heavily fortified steel watch, the city of Baldur's Gate poses a significant challenge.
20:30 - 21:30: Outro and Reflection The chapter discusses the precarious nature of Krick's plan due to his army's composition, which includes brainwashed soldiers susceptible to control by creatures wielding authority over them. The vulnerability lies in the presence of a parasite that makes soldiers turn against their own at the behest of powerful entities. The transcript emphasizes the fragility of relying on such an easily manipulated force in a military strategy. The narrative critiques Krick's oversight in not accounting for this weakness, highlighting the potential for betrayal from within.
What Happens in Baldur's Gate 3 If Every Origin Character Dies? Transcription
00:00 - 00:30 Boulders gate 3's main story is largely based around the Beloved cast of origin characters disrupting the plans of the Dead 3's chosen but if you ever wondered what would happen if all of the game's protagonists died aboard the nautiloid before the story even began could the plans of these villains succeed would the iths execute their grand design and what about the astral prism in this video I'll use evidence found in game to piece together what happens in balers Gate 3 if every origin character died aboard the nautiloid as always in bg3 this Story begins aboard the nautiloid where argu the most important piece of
00:30 - 01:00 The Game's plot the astral prism currently resides every origin hero aboard may already be dead but shadowart still has the Relic on her corpse to get it out of the hells someone needs to reach the transponder and thanks to Lan's love of backup NPCs there is exactly one non origin character aboard the nautiloid who still has that goal a GI Yankee fighter named loir he normally only appears during a playthrough of the game when You' picked lasel but if she isn't available then clearly her backup steps in loir easily battles his way through the tutorial as no challenge at
01:00 - 01:30 all fights of the nautiloid activates the transponder and arrives in fyon just like anyone else he falls from the nautiloid but tragically for loir he does not survive this fall it's not known why but the emperor will never choose to save him when he falls to the beach loser's heroic tale may have been cut short but he ensured Shadow heart's corpse and the astral prism within her inventory have been transported to fyon the most important character of balers gate 3's story is Whoever has the artifact so the next question is would someone find it I believe there are two possible answers to that question we
01:30 - 02:00 know the Goblins search the crash site as they locate the dead mine Flare from the rubble and bring it to their camp for questioning Shadow heart's corpse is nearby and there is a non-zero chance that they would find it search the corpse and retrieve the astral prism for Menara in the equally likely event that a goblin search party proves too incompetent to locate it then the emperor would most likely search for a prison Bearer on his own we know this is possible because if someone ignored Shadow heart entirely in a playthrough then the astral prism is teleported to you in a cut scene when leaving Act One the emperor's only criteria for an ally appears to be someone who is both Tad
02:00 - 02:30 pulled and heading towards moonrise Towers when you look at the entire cast of Act One characters who fulfill that criteria it leaves pretty much only Menara so either way both possible outcomes point to Menara retrieving the astral prism and successfully completing the mission normally blocked by The Game's protagonist with it in hand she makes her way to the shadow of cursed lands calls the drier Caravan and follows it in a convoy to moonrise Towers here she gives the prison to Krick by handing over the prism she escapes her usual death sentence and would be tasked with checking up on Bazar as the prison was found this means
02:30 - 03:00 many other absolute cultists are free to Aid her instead of searching like they normally do they track down Bazar in the melum and their tasked with completing the gauntlet of sh these trials would be no easy task for such low intelligence beings but thankfully goblins are quite disposable jurer would also put up quite a fight but moonrise has no shortage of soldiers to spare for the already proven competent manthara inside the shadowfell the pair secures the nightsong for the cult and after returning to moonrise zerel orders the sacking of last Light in to bring Isabelle to the absolutes Embrace thankfully the the absolute
03:00 - 03:30 already knows the location for this raid as Menara is pretty terrible at locating these settlements on her own the absolute's forces Slaughter everyone within last Light making sure to help Marcus take Isabelle alive once the mission is complete manara's reward is an audience with Krick thorm at top the tower if we take a quick listen to the rumors circulating amongst the guards but we've seen what five true Souls sent for an audience and not a single one came back down from the tower toop must have been unworthy it's safe to assume Menara would not not be returning from this
03:30 - 04:00 trip she's ordered to prey betrayed by Krick and without the prism to protect her she's taken by the brain into the colony down here Bazar turns her into a zombie and manara's time as the protagonist has come to an end thanks to her Krick has accomplished every goal he had with Isabelle at his side and the astral prison in hand he meets with his pair of unlikely allies Gort and Orin by reading gort's journals we know he was the one who ordered the initial search of the prism after being shown it in a dream and since the trio is unaware of how it works he would likely take
04:00 - 04:30 control of the device these three then carry on as usual Power Ranger cosplaying Tad pulling ravengard and recapping their evil plans out loud for any e droppers to hear to quickly recap the plan these guys originally cooked up Gort and Orin were to return to the city while she orders her followers to commit random murders in the streets causing a panic amongst the people while that's going on Krick leads the absolutes Army in a March towards balder's gate these very real threats from his secret villain allies allow gorach to take advantage of the chaos and carry out his coronation for full control of the city government afterwards he uses his steel
04:30 - 05:00 watch soldiers to save the city from the absolutes Army and become the hero of balder's gate earning the people's trust to rule alongside Cath and Orin who would maintain slightly lower ranking positions of power this was of course the plan from gort's perspective as written in his own journals but that isn't what would happen unfortunately for this handsome young villain his two allies are both power-hungry idiots unwilling to share control in the M flare Colony Krick will outright tell a player that he plans to betray his allies and in the city you'll learn that Orin is plotting to do the same even without any origin characters the plan
05:00 - 05:30 of these villains is about to go to to get the ball rolling our fearsome General Krick thorm leads the absolutes Army in its March just as originally planned on their way to the city the innocent refugees trapped within Rivington are of course slaughtered and the gates besieged non-ad pulled flaming fist disloyal citizens and political Rivals of gorach would be posted here as the first line of defense after all them dying only leads to a larger percentage of Boulders Gates people being obedient in the future the absolutes Army overpowers these checkpoint guards unleashing hell upon the people of worms
05:30 - 06:00 Crossing but it's only when they close in on worm Rock's Fortress that krick's forces begin to face difficulty and it's here that we learn krick's plan to betray his allies was clearly not well thought out from the beginning Gort has always been the brains of these operations he stole the crown he gave out the nether Stones he ordered the Army to be created and from the beginning the absolutes Army has been intentionally designed to lose this war for him to become a hero whether it's to the large population of loyal guards the near impenetrable Fortress or the heavily armed steel watch there is no no way the entire city of balers gate was
06:00 - 06:30 ever going to fall to ogres Undead and brainwashed cultists so even if we ignore the fact that krick's Army is clearly outmatched there is another major problem with the necromancer's plan in an act two cut scene you can see that the brain is the one ordering the initial March upon Boulder's Gate and if the brain is the one ordering it then that means that a large amount of this Army is made up of Tad pulled individuals Gort has an equal amount of control over anyone with a parasite in their skull once realizing what cthra was doing Gort could easily order the taded soldiers to turn on the non-ad
06:30 - 07:00 pulled ones any surviving cultist would no doubt flee when their allies turn against them for seemingly no reason and any who didn't would be cleaned up by the steel watch while the absolute Army is clearly losing Krick himself remains invulnerable as he still has control of the nightsong however Krick always did have one major weakness his daughter Isabelle after kidnapping Isabelle we know that Krick tadpull there so that she will remain obedient because a tadpull can be found upon her corpse when she's killed in the M flare Colony Gort already knows that Isabelle is what kri cares about most and by pulling her
07:00 - 07:30 Krick unintentionally gave Gort full control over her mind there would be little hesitation from this Evil Genius to exploit such a weakness when faced with betrayal and when you consider that even a player can convince cth to give up with a simple D20 all evidence points to his surrender they may not be able to kill the immortal General but there's plenty of cells to house him in Boulder's Gate perhaps we never should have dug your daughter up he's locked away stripped of his nether Stone and the Army is defeated Gort becomes a hero to his people like he sought to be but the cracks in his master plan have already began to form the emperor fully
07:30 - 08:00 aware of what an elder brain can do would start to appear in gort's dreams trying to show him what Warren is capable of and put a wrench into their Alliance he knows if he can convince him to retriever her Stone they'll put an end to all this nonsense there's nothing more the emperor wants than his freedom and influencing Gort is his best chance at such a future unfortunately for this mind fler these attempts at manipulation would ultimately fail gortz may not be a very good guy but we know he respects an alliance until he's betrayed when the ball assassin start showing up at his doorstep in the coming days though that's when he learned that his dream
08:00 - 08:30 visitor was telling the truth and it's at this point his priorities would need to change in his journal he wrote it's just as the great sages say a plan will only take you so far it's axiomatic that I must be in control of all three nether Stones while searching for Orin these failed attempts and gor's life would continue but this annoyance can easily be used to his favor victory over the absolutes Army has made gorach the greatest balers gate Legend since balder and himself so when the news of these failed assassination attempts Hit The Gazette the people will not just sit back and watch as their beloved Leader's
08:30 - 09:00 life is being threatened cortes's Scouts already knew the ballis are hold up in the sewers and with enough time and resources they'll eventually find a way in an angry mob of loyal flaming fists mechanical steel watch soldiers and Gort Fang girls would raid the Temple of ball every assassin within his cut down with nowhere left to run or in fights to her last breath she never had the Strategic mindset that Gort has nor the number of followers in the end Gort wins the power struggle obtaining all three nether stones to the citizens of Boulder's Gate he's already a god out amongst men it
09:00 - 09:30 should be a time for celebration but unfortunately the untimely death of his former Ally has given an inch of freedom to the brain the Quakes start occurring around the city and as he has all three nether stones in his possession it's now up to gorach to face it at the morphic pool now I know that in a normal playr when Gores comes here he is killed by the nether brain as the brain appears to have some sort of power to unleash a direct psionic assault on someone's skull and then kill them instantaneously it's my opinion that the only reason a player doesn't also die here is because the emperor is using the astral prison's
09:30 - 10:00 power to save your life the emperor was at one point a slave directly because of gores and because the player exists he sees no need to keep Gort alive but because there's no one else here the emperor knows that if Gort dies now his chances of becoming free again have just became zero to ensure there's at least some Hope For Freedom Gort is protected by the emperor against the assault pulled into the astral prism and the discussion about a necessary Alliance would now take place during the discussion he's told to hand over the nether stones and work together or pretty much give up now any other villain in the this universe would
10:00 - 10:30 probably have turned against the emperor right here on the spot and accused him of lying but Gort is level-headed and intelligent enough to know that every word spoken was the truth he's a man who studied Elder brains in his office he has several books on the subject one of which pretty much explained everything the emperor tells you here and written in a book titled studies of the Elder brains by Gort himself it reads no weakness but the unexpected it seems I shall need unexpected allies there's no one more unexpected than a mind flarer who used to be his own slave showing up to save his life at the last moment
10:30 - 11:00 these two Forge an alliance the emperor takes the stones consumes orpheus's powers and this legendary Duo returns to the upper City they wouldn't find the usual cast of allies of course instead they meet with loyal bayite followers the Flaming fists and a few gantan artificers after braving the courtyard and the upper City Gauntlet these Heroes would arrive at the brain's spinal cord like appendage and when you think about it reaching the brain has never really been challenging because the Elder brain always chooses to sit there until someone climbs it don't ask me why a giant brain is cantic one of the stupidest characters in the game soon
11:00 - 11:30 after gorach the emperor and his followers find themselves at top the brain ready for one last battle as Bane's chosen he's given Power by his God and because of it they're able to survive long enough to reach the crown the emperor channels the power of the stones opens a portal and they enter together here too they have no difficulty striking the brain until it surrenders almost like it was too easy with the battle over the emperor solely focused on subd doing the brain is distracted and Gort could take this opportunity to finish him off but at this point the emperor has done nothing nothing wrong to Gort and like I said
11:30 - 12:00 earlier he doesn't betray an ally that he sees as an equal but he also knows they've come this far and to throw it all away now by killing the brain would be a waste He suggests that they enslave the brain and Rule together as equals after a brief debate about their odds of defeating the ganki Empire gorach convinces him to go through with his plan the brain is dominated but to the surprise of the bay Knight the emperor claims the throne in his name alone ruling as an equal was never an option to this mind flare to him his allies were always just puppets instead gort's off refer a position as his right-hand
12:00 - 12:30 man a general a second in command this was a position that Bane's chosen was never willing to accept the people were supposed to be erecting statues in His image and bowing before him not this squid faced usurper to write this wrong and reclaim his throne he pulls a blade on the emperor like he should have done before only now it's too late the astral prism no longer protects his mind he's caught his body controlled and Enver gorach 2 faces a violent end the surviving citizens of balder's gate are enthralled their bodies forcibly take up arm and fight against the G yanki Gort
12:30 - 13:00 was right about them being able to defeat them as the citizens managed to push back these GI Invaders causing them to flee fyon when you think about it maybe this was the plan of the Elder brain all along when you examine the desecrated image found in the mine Clair Colony you'll see that there's an athid resembling that of the emperor wielding a staff similar to his own he's seen standing in front of an elrain with humans forced to kneel initially the emperor was sent by the brain to strip the gith Yankee of the only weapon able to prevent this future and now thanks to him he ended up fulfilling the grand desire while thinking it's his own idea
13:00 - 13:30 the restoration of the elth Empire came true and if you really think about it it's all thanks to loir the ganki who doed the world but that's just one fans Theory what do you think would have happened did I miss anything crucial let me know in the comments below if you enjoyed this video I'd appreciate it if you left a like and as always I want to thank you for watching to the end special thanks to my channel members for their additional support you guys are awesome and until next time proxy out
