Cloudflare is a public infrastructure company headquartered in San Francisco. Its platform spans CDN, DNS, DDoS protection, web application security, zero trust networking, developer compute, storage, and emerging AI infrastructure. The company describes its mission as helping build a better Internet. Cloudflare says its global network reaches hundreds of cities and powers a significant share of web traffic. For developers, Cloudflare Workers, R2, Durable Objects, AI Gateway, Vectorize, AutoRAG, Browser Rendering, and related products make the company relevant far beyond traditional CDN and security use cases. Cloudflare was founded in 2009 by Matthew Prince, Michelle Zatlyn, and Lee Holloway, launched publicly at TechCrunch Disrupt in 2010, and went public in 2019. On OpenTools, Cloudflare is a parent organization for AI and MCP-adjacent developer products, including Cloudflare MCP server and agent-era infrastructure tools.
